The Sandman (2022)
I'll say it... the sandman made me sleepy
It's a shame cause the show started with some promising world building and an intriguing premise. You can tell Netflix pumped some serious money into the design and production. Somewhere mid season the show turns to an absolute bore with pointless episodes that feel disconnected. The season should've been 6 episodes and they may have been on to something. I guess Netflix had left over money from all the other shows they canceled to waste on more episodes of this. My guess is it'll get cancelled too.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
Book of Boring Mess
Show is full of poor writing and acting. The story is as boring as the action. Episode 5 is the only reason to watch this show, you'll understand why. I think Disney rushed into this one to capitalize on the success of Mando. Do better Disney.
Love and Monsters (2020)
More love then monsters.
The movie lacks in its main title piece, MONSTERS!! I can probably count on one hand the amount of monsters in the movie. The premise is interesting enough and the film doesn't suffer at all from acting and script. Feel like there was a missed opportunity to really build a massive world with monsters. Overall it's not a bad movie just needed more.
Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021)
Like an old school ep. of Tales from the Darkside
You won't be able to watch this and not think it belongs in a Tales from the Crypt/Darkside and or Creepshow storyline. Has all the creepy tone elements, campiness and horror to fit the mold. Just like those shows/movies this is not without its faults but always forgivable because you love all the underlying qualities named above. This is what the new American Horror Stories should've been instead of the pathetic attempt they tried.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Should've been the original!
The perfect kinda summer blockbuster we all deserved back in 2016. James Gunn is the ultimate comic book movie genius for team ups that no one asked for but everyone loves. Very few directors can take little known characters and make the audience care for them. His perfect orchestration of emotions, action, and humor is unmatched. This isn't your cookie cutter superhero movie that plays by the rules. Gunn takes a lot of risks but the payoff is fantastic if you just sit back and enjoy instead of wishing for it to be something you've seen a million times. The movie does have some flaws but who cares!! Sign me up to watch Idris and Cena talk about hilarious nothings like Downey and Stiller in Tropic Thunder any day!
Doom Patrol (2019)
Robotman for the win!
If you're tired of the repetitive generic superhero genre this show might be for you. It's dark, funny, off the wall and fresh. Expect the completely unexpected as the show goes to places that no other superhero show/movie has gone to. The characters are a blend of heart and humor meets gritty and dark. Though it definitely has its faults, Doom Patrol is full of wacky moments and lovable/hatable characters that will let your forgive those faults.
American Horror Stories (2021)
What a horrific show
Who approved this script? I love AHS (minus some of the forgettable seasons). Unfortunately this is AHS turned young adult with gory and sexual moments that feel forced to try and be edgy. The poor acting is only matched by the cringeworthy script. Feels like I'm watching an R rated version of Goosebumps without the nostalgia.
The Hunt (2020)
Betty Gilpin saves the movie
The premise is different and the idea is fantastic. As far as horror comedies go this isn't the best with horror or comedy aspects. But Betty gilpin is an absolute star in this. Her performance is worth the watch. Overall the movie lacks severely in script and is pretty clunky in its delivery. I think it could've been really good with a few changes but I'm not in Hollywood so this movie suffered without my input!
Blood Red Sky (2021)
There's blood it's red and they're in the sky
Not a terrible lil horror flick. Certainly has its faults, but if you go in knowing that it's not going to win any awards you'll enjoy it. Has just enough heart for you to care and enough bloody horror to keep you entertained. Watch it for what it is.
The Green Knight (2021)
Artsy fartsy heavy on the fartsy
I only give the movie a 3 because the visuals and cinematography are wonderful and the acting is solid. The rest of the movie is dreck. A boring yawn that dives heavily into utter confusion with no pay off. I'm sure in some cinema circles it will be liked but as far as an entertaining and coherent movie this falls well short.

Fear Street: 1666 (2021)
Your life will go on if you never watch
I give you a 10% chance of whether you will like the anthology. If you don't care about poor acting and awful writing it may be enjoyable. The second installment is the best one by far. The idea is fantastic for this series but the end product is a mess of (once again) poor acting and awful script. The third movie gets increasingly worse as it moves along and almost laughable.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Twice as nice but still terrible
Much improved installment from part one. Still severely lacking in script/story/acting. Tried to make up for its shortcomings by tossing in high levels of gore but that only takes it so far. The setting and music will give you hints of slasher classics and nostalgia but that's about all that the movie can offer.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Unwatchable/cringeworthy/whatever other words mean not good
I started watching with 10 stars in mind. I dropped a star every time there was a cringeworthy scene from horrific writing/acting/directing. I got to 1 star pretty quickly. I gave it a bump to 2 stars since the soundtrack was on point. Should've leaned into a more comedic tone and it may have been decent. Since it did not and tried to actually be a nostalgic horror it becomes a non scary unwatchable whatever.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Zombie heist movie?!?! (Spoiler. It's terrible)
As you can tell I was excited for a fun and crazy stupid plot but wow. Who green lit this script? I want to write about all the things that were terrible in this but I don't have the time nor do I want to write a spoiler. Just know that you will be wasting your life. The script is mind numbingly terrible along with just about everything else. The story should be wild and fun, but it doesn't scratch any itch that you would want it to. Bautista deserves better.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
I want the babality's for round 2!
I can't remember a video game movie that payed so much homage to its source material. Every fight brought me right back to when I used to rent Mortal Kombat from Blockbuster as a kid! Was the movie lacking in script, plot, and acting at times? Absolutely. But let's be real, did you play the games because of the great script? No! We all played it cause it was brutal and inventive. That's just what this movie gives you. It delivers all the kicks, punches, weapons, fatalities, and one liners in clever brutal ways. The makers of the game would be proud. Sub-zero is a punishing and ruthless villain, but Kano alone is worth seeing the movie for!
Seungriho (2021)
Cowboy Bebop show take notes!
This movie is what a Cowboy Bebop show should take notes from. The movie certainly has its flaws but it's world building is next level. I felt like I was watching a Netflix version of Fifth Element (and by that I mean not as good of a version). The story is decent but the action is inventive and the emotions work to match it.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Only decent cause the other was so bad
If this was the original one released would you enjoy it? My answer is nope. Ppl are rating it high to try and prove it was worth making I guess. That being said It's certainly better than it's predecessor but falls extremely short of a good movie. The script is choppy, the music choice at times is mind blowingly awful, and I don't know who approves Snyder's use of slomo but they need to put a limit on how many times he is allowed to use it. This thing would've been ridiculed like BvS if joss' version was never created. The length does allow for Snyder to flesh out some characters, mostly the villains and cyborg. Yet somehow the film diminishes Aquaman and bats as characters. Four hours long and it still doesn't explain why there are goggles on Batman and why he has a random tank haha! Outside of that the only reason it's four hours long is because there is an hour worth of slomo! It's worth checking out if you were one clamoring for this version but don't expect Snyder to break away from all the stuff that made BvS terrible.
