La Ciénaga (2001)
Worth watching until the last second.
Extraordinary mood, amazing script. It's a tale that represents perfectly the intimacy of being an argentine woman in the late 90s, from the multiple angles that this can be looked at: social status, age and sobriety level. Colace's work with light is as well fantastic, of course.
Tráiler para amantes de lo prohibido! (1985)
Excellent! Hilarious!
I've seen this short movie and found it just amazing. It's a musical in which Almodovar's perception of life and women is perfectly reflected.
Really recommendable for those lovers of "black humor" and those who have a strong sense of life itself.
This short movie is parallel to "¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?" (1985) and it represents the moment of its premiere at the Theatres.
It is just great, funny, colorful.
Also a very critical reflect for men. Very Almodovarian...
Truly recommendable! Don't miss it!
Beware impressive people! Hahaha
Gertrud (1964)
A movie with a great content!
I had to watch this movie because I'm a Cinema student, and for a final exam, I had to explore Carl Dreyer's filmography. Even I enjoyed every film he's done, Gertrud and Ordet were the ones that I liked the most. Gertrud presents a subject so common as LOVE, love and human relations. PASSION. What is it like to be in love? What is love? The Latin words Gertrud says at the end, "Amor omniae est" describe in a perfect way the message (in my opinion) Carl was trying to give in this film. "Love is everything". But at the same time... he asks "what is love?", right? I think Carl Dreyer's movies are full of a profound content. He was a person with deep thoughts, and that's remarkable. So recommendable!
