Beowulf (2007)
Great effort but as an early animated production suffers from detailed glitches
One setback is the lack of blinking reflexes in the eyes of the animated characters. That is the one thing that makes the effort miss the mark.
Otherwise the animation and CGI did what normal production could not have achieved.
The storyline was interesting and attention grabbing.
The Blacklist: Andrew Kennison (No. 185) (2022)
Raymond and team seem to be losing it
Disappointing end to this episode. You could see it coming a mile away. Given the build up, I'd expected a seasoned crime operator like Raymond to have foreseen what would have eventuated. Hope it's not more of the long drawn plot like the Reddington-Keene relationsship non-reveal. Deae script writers, don't make the similar mistake twice.
Mindhunter: Episode #2.8 (2019)
Great except for the LGBTQIA+ plots.
One of the better more realistic crime dramas... With crimes that don't get solved in 40 minutes. The fact base of this series with real serial killers and case facts makes great viewing for the segment of viewers who enjoy the unfolding for the plots, especially when the end is already known. Great characters but for the LGBTQIA + plot with Torv's character. Frankly sick of it in every small screen production these days. Frankly the oversexed stories on TV these days is getting in the way of good story telling and plots.
La casa de papel: El espectáculo de la vida (2021)
The holes in the logic of the plot is deteriorating
After Nairobi got shot in the chest by military snipers then Denver and Stockholm stand in front of an open window to look at Arturo .. that's is just the prime example of the idiocy of the story writers. The plot is just crumbling with sloppy details just for the sake of some idea of creating some touchy feely dramatic "moment". It's a relief that this will be the absolute last season. If any criminals are this sloppy, they'd be dead or neutralised since the middle of season 4 and perhaps that should have been the end of this series.
The Blacklist: Konets (2021)
Can Jon Bokenkamp do any worse for his hit creation? Yes
Just as you think that Jon can't do any worse, he pulls yet another rabbit out of the hat.
You just need to know when to do the big reveal without taxing the patience and the intelligence of your viewers. And the fallout against poorly conceived storyline to ramp up the ruthlessness of the Keen character unfortunately compromised a fine actor, Megan Boone.
Can he make it worse? Yes and I hope the fall out will not be at the expense of another fine actor(s) in the cast!
The Blacklist: Nachalo (2021)
Not getting there
The Reddington-Keen origins "spin" isn't sounding credible. The amount of BS that Red has to suffer in the hands of Keen will need a Reddington-Keen relationship that must be in line with the grace and patience the "international criminal mastermind" Reddington has been held out to be... Especially in the dark underworld of international crime where no relationship is sacrosanct when it comes to treachery.
Manifest: Mayday: Part 2 (2021)
Intrigue upon intrigue - fascinating
Hope that the series will be extended after this season finale mystery ending... It is truly a modern day fantasy exploring into alternate universes and the supernatural current to the state of science and cosmology today.
Congratulations to the writers.
The Blacklist (2013)
The Red-Elizabeth relationship mystery has completely run its course
The writers, Jon Bokencamp et al, dealt a bloody hand to the Lizzy Keen character by dragging the mystery past any credible storyline, and quite unfair to Megan Boone the actor playing the character.
If the Lizzy Keen character is to survive the fan polls, you'd better come up with something fast... Too many characters have died protecting the "Lizzy Keen secret" for Lizzy Keen's safety, and now that Lizzy Keen's #1 on the Black List and an international criminal mastermind, the "Lizzy Keen safety" reason is no longer any issue at all. So kill of Lizzy Keen and bury the secret (that story line is getting ridiculous and Dembe was right ask the while - the mystery should have been broken at the latest when Katarina Rostova was killed of), or find a way to reintroduce the Lizzy Keen character and reconcile Red and Keen.

The Blacklist: The Russian Knot (2021)
Spader! Spader! Spader!
Too bad we can't sack Bokenkamp as writer and creator, but the story line from the last episode of season 7 through to ask episodes of season 8 has been awful. But for Spader'd Portrayal of Red, fans would have abandoned the show!
If the Russian knot has been the means that Raymond is communicating with the Russian Cabal, how has he been communicating with them all this while when the only Russian Knot machine other than the one with the Russians is in Minsk as a museum exhibit?
So Red isn't N13 afterall... And Liz has been so wrong? But who cares anyway. They've tried up the series until 2021 into the 9th session. Most of the players can look to a comfy retirement and so what if the whole series tanks and bombs out.

The Blacklist: Misère (2021)
The horse has booked on the relevance of Keen
The writers have made a dog's breakfast of the role of Liz Keen on the show. It's a pity because they basically robbed the future and prospects of a good actress Megan Boone on The Blacklist.
What the hell were they thinking? The barefaced betrayal of the Keen character against Red given some 7 seasons of relationship for a complete stranger of a "mother". If the writers intended to show that a woman can be as ruthless and treacherously devious as a man, they might have succeeded at the expense of villianising their leading lady while boosting support for Red. At this stage, for Red not to finish Keen off as he did Mr Kaplan would bring a tenuous and irrational and untenable scenario to the series. Yes Keen has been written to a dead end...
The Rookie: Lockdown (2021)
The Jackson character should be written off
Going in to be a rat... Should have been killed off. What a disappointment...
The Rookie: In Justice (2021)
Black Lives Matter Propaganda isn't welcomed!
The subplots involving Nolan and the broken lights in the playground, and West with the Somalian feels guilt-tripping viewers to the BLM movement. Get more real with policing and crime and that would mean that standard policing will reflect crime statistics that unfortunately reflect a disproportionate representation by the African Americans and Latino people groups! And cops work with have to take the profiling based on those facts! Angry Black men who feel victimised without reading the realities of their own communities are just tiresome.
What the show can do is to acknowledge the realities and promote best practice in policing! That would be more welcomed!

American History X (1998)
The Sad History of the Ostracised White Man in White Society
The powder keg in Western White Society is the Ostracised White man - Ostracised from the progress, wealth and prosperity the social and political elites have been amassing for themselves at the expense of their fellow countrymen... Corporate profits and those wealthy enough have a stake in the growth from exporting jobs overseas and denying their poorer countrymen the opportunity to partake in the growth. And to add insult to injury, importing cheap foreign labour to squeeze the lower strata of the socioeconomic order to compete with ever reducing wages, and at the professionals, importing ready qualified immigrants instead of investing in their own people to fill those higher qualified jobs...
That's the bane of the Western Immigration and economic policies of the last 50 years! Is there any wonder that no non-Western country will be drawn into the immigration and economic policies of the West?
Just a sad tragic reality...
The Blacklist: Elizabeth Keen (No. 1) (2021)
Writers and producers - know when to stop flogging a dead horse
Is this for real? 7 seasons (years) and counting, and the flipping writers and producers of this site can't bring the main plot to a conclusion! You're not feeling justice to the show nor the characters (Red, Keen, et al) and most tragically not the find actors on the site especially Alan Spader!
It seems that Hollywood just don't know how to bring the Red/Keen relationship to the next level. The climax of the "great reveal" on the exact relationship between Red and Keen should have been now or just after episode 3 of season 8 when Katrina Rostova!
It would seem that the writers just don't know how to handle a male/female relationship without the cheap sex and romance angle. The father/father-figure daughter thing is just not where producers and writers seem to able to handle moving forward.
Fix it guys because where you're taking it is down the gurgler! And the whole weight of 1/10s with a smattering of 10/10 from the diehards is just too telling!
The Blacklist: Roanoke (No. 139) (2020)
The plot between Liz and Katarina is...
The plot between Liz and Katarina against Raymond is taking an unpleasant direction. The writers creating a twisted Liz might be a talk world thing but it just takes from the plots and fine tune tensions that once existed between Liz and Raymond. The twists as to who Raymond is has been truly overplayed and I think the audience wants that to end and to move on top another intrigue involving "father" and estramged "daughter".
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013)
Intrigue and excitement
Rather sad that this adventure has ended,. It has at times tested the limits of astrophysics and cosmology but that is what makes thsi series so interesting and the last season with the time travel and multiverse theme shows that the script writers are abreast on the latest to spintheir plots.
What will life be like without Colson, Melinda May, Daisy/Sky, Fritz, Jemma, Mac, Yoyo and Deke every week after entertaining us for the last 7 seasons... Well done guys, all the best and never say never... Who knows what Extinction level Earth disaster will need the rescue of the Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D to bring the team back together again...
Blindspot: Iunne Ennui (2020)
A classy end to a great and innovative show
I'm going to miss this show... It has all the elements that makes it an entertaining show... Like the ending that doesn't completely close the chapter... A resurrection possiblity perhaps...
The Foreigner (2017)
Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan - great partnership!
A well scripted story line, with twists and intrigue. Jackie Chan showed that he can do more dramatic action roles. None of the fancy Rush Hour martial arts stunts, just realistic hand to hand combat and gun fights.
Pierce Brosnan does not disappoint with his usual performance.
The Chosen (2017)
What a fresh look at the life of Jesus Christ
Just completed the first season of The Chosen and man, what s refreshing look at the person or Jesus the Christ. The narration and story line is such a balanced blend of the Gospel accounts and filling in the gaps and stringing the accounts on the Gospels logically and chronologically, with measured creativity.
Another great touch is to build the characters of the first 7 disciples, to portray them as closely as is possible from the gospel accounts. The role of Matthew as the tax collector and most likely the document of the details of the person and ministry of Jesus the Christ, as reflected by the detail and comprehensiveness of the Gospel account that bears his name.
Well done to Dallas and the entire production team, as well as the excellent artistic portrayals by the thespians... Well done.
A.D. The Bible Continues: The Wrath (2015)
Departed from the account of the Acts
The story line departed too much from tge account of the book of the Acts. Firstly by ask accounts, the numbers who witnessed the Ascension of Messiah and those gathered at the upper room numbered some 120 persons. The ruckus caused by the coming of the Holy Spirit attracted thousands hearing their message in their own tongues, with 3000 of them joining the Way (as it was called then).
The first "trial of Peter and John" saw a bold testimony of Peter before the Sanhedrin and not the pitiful display by the character portraying Peter. Utterly disappointing!
