Perfect Harmony (2022)
Perfectly wonderful
I love Hallmark movies with the usual formula- boy meets girl they fall in love something almost breaks them up but all is well in the end. This was different. The main characters were a little older and they had lived through genuine hardship. The chemistry was undeniable and the musical performances were pure magic. Total Eclipse Of The Heart stopped me in my tracks and I replayed it several times. The depth of emotion was palpable and it also had wonderful light hearted moments. The casting was perfect and I would love to see the main characters paired again. The moral is loss hurts but it's ok to move on.
Destination Wedding (2017)
fun summer movie
I loved this movie. It is not complex or rocket science. Perfect summer movie. The actors are sweet and compelling. Other than the acting and the story, my favorite part was the scenery. Most of the scenes took place in warm sunny weather on amazingly beautiful beaches. As all hallmark movies do, this had a misunderstanding close to the end but ended in romantic happily ever fashion.
Journey Back to Christmas (2016)
Beautiful love story
I really love this movie. I love most Hallmark Christmas movies and the plots are very simple-- couple falls in love, couple has misunderstanding during the last half hour which threatens to break them up, but then in the last 5 minutes the misunderstanding is resolved and everyone lives happily ever after.
This has a complexity and a very realistic time travel element that is beautifully done and not completely unbelievable. The costumes are wonderful and the plot is meaningful and believable. The nostalgia makes me realize how much simplicity adds to Christmas and how small actions make a huge difference. Amazing story. Hope they bring this one back every year for a long long time
Just in Time for Christmas (2015)
Sweet and Magical
Loved this movie. The characters are sweet and charming. Truthful and loving without being sugary. Acting is excellent and as someone who loves any movie with a time travel component and Christmas movies in general, I found this to be the best of both worlds. You just can't help but love Eloise Mumford from the moment she steps on screen. Her smile and gentleness are completely captivating. Michael Stahl-David is a wonderful sweet and funny leading man, and Christopher Lloyd is the perfect companion for the journey, I also love the Back to the Future trilogy and the reference although subtle is not lost. Enjoy this feel good story about finding what is really important
Moving Art: Oceans (2014)
Stunning photography and beautiful music
There are 4 nature films in this series, Oceans, Flowers, Deserts and Forests. They are just 25 minutes long each but have the most beautiful photography I have ever seen. Well worth the time and I know I will watch them again and again. They are currently on Netflix streaming which is where I saw them. The time lapse photography is especially effective. I only wish there were credits that told where each was filmed. There is no talking at all just gorgeous music along with the stunning photography. Animals and trees and water and blooming flowers all presented with unbelievable beauty. There is nothing more to say except you will not regret the time spent. Highly recommend
Hoodwinked! (2005)
Hysterically funny for kids and adults
I rented this expecting it to be a cute charming animated movie without much content. I was absolutely blown away by the razor sharp wit, wonderful voice talent and animation, and details so expertly crafted that you had to be an adult to get the humor, and visuals so striking that you had to use the pause on your DVD to catch them. This is a wonderful film that I have watched four times in a row now and each time I watch it, more layers and details become apparent to me.
Please rent this movie even if you usually think animated films are just "cute" and all fluff. You will be pleasantly surprised Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
The Ron Clark Story (2006)
What a wonderful story
I just saw this movie on TNT and loved it. So many teachers have inspired me that I could relate to this man who goes above and beyond what is required-- being available both academically and emotionally to make a real difference in these kid's lives. Making them really want to learn and to do their best, seeing their potential and not just what is written in black and white about them. Even going to their homes to see what their day to day life is really like. A wonderful film. I also appreciate seeing Matthew Perry in a dramatic role. It shows the depth of his talent as an actor and I hope he gets more roles like this one. Thank you TNT //Johnson and Johnson for producing another fantastic family film.
