Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Could've been a great movie with a few tweaks
Just watched this movie yesterday (didn't see the trailer first) and was severely disappointed. It started out promising with how they introduced "The Fool's Errand" and it's crew mixed with the cinematography and synth heavy main score. The movie also had a pretty strong cast as well (I actually like Chloë Grace Moretz). The design of the gremlin was pretty damn great too. It's main weakness was the plot and ridiculous reality breaking physics in a few parts of the movie. It could've been so much better with just a few tweaks to the story line and maybe kept it feeling like a creature feature horror style movie. Dark, gritty and creepy. (Think of the movie Overlord while they're in the plane)
They should've done away with the whole baby storyline and should've instead made it be a gremlin egg or gremlin baby inside the case which is why the gremlin starts attacking them in the first place.
They should've made the male crew less idiotic. Sure, they could be sexist and mean towards Chloe at first (it was the 40's after all) , but gain respect for her as the story continues (maybe after she shoots down a zero or two amd see the gremlin for themselves). After awhile, most of the crew has seen the gremlin and they all band together and form a plan to take it out.
The movie ends with what's left of the male crew making it to their destination, viewing Chloe as their equal with package intact. (No goofy hand to hand cgi heavy battle)
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
That's all folks!
I loved the original one even though it certainly had it's cheese but at least it had heart and soul mixed in.
This movie on the other hand was a discombobulated mess from beginning to end! Michael Jordan wasn't only better on the court but also better at acting when compared to Lebron James. (And that's saying alot because Michael is certainly no actor.)
6 Underground (2019)
Fast and Furious, you've met your match!
I am a long time fan of the Fast and Furious franchise however I felt like they've been lacking something. (The last good one was Fast Five)
I'd say 6 Underground is the perfect all around action movie. Beautiful cinematography, very strong, likable characters, awesome dialogue with comedy mixed in and the action, OH the action!! It's some of the most high octane BELIEVABLE action I've seen in a long time. And the story is actually interesting unlike the last couple Fast and Furious movies. The last thing they have over the Fast and Furious franchise is that while the characters are very likable, you also feel like they could die at any moment (aside from Ryan Reynolds). Oh how I hope they make a sequel to this!!!
Overlord (2018)
An out and out pleasant surprise!!
When I saw the preview, I thought it would be a brainless but fun zombie B flick. But how wrong I was in the best way!
I don't understand why people are rating this movie so poorly. I had a blast watching it!
This movie was an awesome, slow burning World War II movie with a touch of horror. It didn't rely on cheap jump scares or endless amounts of gross-out gore. It created a creepy, stylistic atmosphere from the very beginning with great cinematography and score.
Think of it as a mix between COD Nazi Zombies and Wolfenstein in movie form.
The characters were quite fleshed out which made me care about their well being throughout the movie.
This is one of my top five horror movies that I've seen in the last five to ten years!
30 Miles from Nowhere (2018)
Terrible movie all around
Well what can I say? There was absolutely nothing good in this movie. The acting, story line, dialogue, even the characters were absolutely unlikable and forgettable. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this movie.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
The Godzilla film that fans have waited for!!
Godzilla King Of The Monsters is everything you could possibly hope for in a monster movie! I went and saw this in IMAX yesterday and couldn't be more pleased!
The visuals were absolutely stunning. I never knew terrifying monsters could be so beautiful. Godzilla, Fire Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah have never looked better.
I honestly thpught the plot and yes even the characters were pretty decent! Not terrible like what the so called critics are saying.
If you're looking for a Godzilla movie that is a true spectacle that leaves you in awe, you will not be disappointed!
I'm planning on seeing this at least one more time in the theater!

Black Summer (2019)
B list zombie show... and that's being kind
Where to start??...
You can tell that it has a very very low budget, the acting is terrible, the stupidity of the characters makes you not care about them at all and the editing is utter garbage. Do not waste your time!
Real Cases of Shadow People: The Sarah McCormick Story (2019)
An hour and 47 minutes of nothing
The scariest thing about it was the time I wasted watching this movie. It mainly consisted of three friends goofing around with fart jokes, and trying to be funny. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS MOVIE!!!
Halloween (2018)
BY FAR THE BEST SEQUEL IN THE HALLOWEEN FRANCHISE!
Halloween 2018 was BY FAR the BEST sequel in the Halloween franchise in my opinion. It had the perfect atmosphere and the musical score couldn't have possibly been any better. It has one of the best soundtracks that I've heard in a long time to be honest and set the tone for the movie. It was shot beautifully and was a perfect mixture of old and new. You could tell that both John Carpenter and David Gordon Green really cared for how this movie turned out and wanted to show fans that a proper slasher movie can still be made in 2018. He wanted to pay proper homage to John Carpenter's classic.
In other words, I could tell I was watching a Halloween movie all the way through just from the style and unease that the movie projected.
If you know the original Halloween well enough you'll catch some familiar names and little nods to the original. Just some little Easter eggs for us OG fans.
It went above and beyond anything I could've expected!! Even made me jump 2 or 3 times.
People are complaining about the comedic scenes in certain parts of the film. Personally I think it gives the characters a more realistic touch. A loving family that jokes with each other, a couple cops poking fun at each other, a baby sitter and kid messing with each other. IT'S NORMAL! They actually make you care for the characters and what happens to them. Plus it gives a good break in between the intense scenes! Think of it as a horror filled roller coaster.
Other people were getting into it just as much as I was in the theater. Clapping at certain points and cheering. I haven't had that much fun at a movie in a long time!
In conclusion, if you're looking for a good horror movie to see this Halloween season, go see it!!!
