The Chair (2021)
Boring as Hell
I liked the actors very much indeed. But they don't help this long-winded and boring plot either. Who is interested in the boring private lives of the professors? I - as a German - at least expected that elevated language, important quotes and insights could be used in this show. Far from it. Everything below niveau.
This Little Love of Mine (2021)
Burn it
Here you get a (over)dose in overacting. But one is not watching a kids movie. Could endure it for 23 minutes. If you ever thought American actors were the gold standard of cinematography, watch this movie and your perception of the world will be shaken.
Brews Brothers (2020)
Don't think, enjoy! And drink!
I probably have a weird taste. Sure I do. When I saw the reviews, I feared the worst. Being German, I love beer, so I had to take a peek. But then it turned out that the entertainment value is quite pleasing. I'd classify the gags more as a teen comedy from the 90s. Mostly below the belt. But still a lot of funny ideas and puns (more modern setting). Actors are nice and meet the expectations. Characters are a bit one-dimensional, but not primitive. And something always happens, sometimes predictable, but always charming. So if you are into rude jokes with a pinch of cleverness you will be served above average here. At least by Netflix standards.
Locke & Key (2020)
Awkward and silly
And again an example of: How do I squeeze minutes and hours out of a flimsy story to cash in on Netflix. Predictable, tedious and boring. The highlight was the Elf Crown from Lord of the Rings. How pathetic but made me laugh for hours. By the way, the actors are great.
