Rudy (1993)
Hands Down, Rudy is the BEST Sports Movie of All Time
The classic the boy who was told he'd never be strong, enough, big enough, hit hard enough to play football past high school. It's story about family and expectations. Traditions. Tragedy and the impetus to take a shot at it. Never giving up. You will cry the last 5 minutes of the movie like a sobbing child. An easy 10.
Most of the story is true or true as it can be while still being entertaining. Not sure the end played out like that in real life but quite possibly the best end of a sports movie you will ever see.
The relationship between Rudy and Father Cavanaugh is real and was a great help it getting Rudy into Holy Cross and Notre Dame.
Columbo: Try and Catch Me (1977)
The One I Always Remember
I was only 9 when this one came out but I remember watching it with my family like we did every week. I did not like the show too much when I was a kid. It wasn't always entertaining. But this episode I remember because of Ruth Gordon. Loved the plot, the safe, the drama, the reveal...
This is the only episode of many that I remember watching so it must be the best, to me.
Little House on the Prairie: The Love of Johnny Johnson (1974)
Puppy Love My Foot
This episode was creepy on way too many levels. I have to disagree with the other poster. I think what made it creepy now as it did then when I was a teen watching it for the first time in 1974 was that Mitch Vogel was 19 when this was filmed and looked even older.
The sisters were WAY too young for him in any time even back then. 19 year olds were not tying to court 10 year old girls back then.
With all the young actors in the 70's at their disposal HOW could they have cast someone who looked like a grown man to play this role?
My least favorite House episode by far.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
What A Mini Series Should Be
Short, sweet, fantastic. I am not a fan or chess, nor is my wife. But this was one of the best couple of hours I have spent in a long time. Beth is captivating. Her mentors, all of them... perfect.
Wish there was a 2nd season.
The Aeronauts (2019)
History Schmistory
This movie was awesome. Just superb acting, too.
Great way they told the story and had me on the edge of my seat the entire movie.
Many W T F ! moments.
Winner.
Ad Astra (2019)
Fell Asleep In the Middle Of The Afternoon...
Which is very, very difficult for me to do at HOME, in my own bed.
Not exactly sure WHY they would even make such a movie that goes Somewhere while standing absolutely still for 2:02.
Brad, boring, low heart rate, Daddy issues.
Tommy, boring, low energy, Human issues.
Spent a lot of money to sleep away from home.
Yesterday (2019)
Great Movie For People Who Like To Smile
To the naysayers, this movie was very, very entertaining. The entire audience was singing along. The lead has a great voice. Just a great movie and a good time. Watched it twice.
The Employables (2019)
Heartwarming Brilliant Show About Brilliant People...
Who just happen to have disabilities that prove to be in some cases super abilities.
I am not a reviewer or good with words. All I can say is give it a try and you will be amazed. We have watched the first 4 episodes so far and each has been brilliant.
So far it is focusing mostly on folks with Tourette's in some form and those with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and how difficult it is for them to interview and land jobs while having traits that are very distracting.
Faith restored in humanity after watching these if only fleeting...
Unanchored (2018)
Could this BE any worse...
The only thing fun is reading the 10/10 star reviews from the cast and their sock puppet accounts.
Yawn.
