Pa-siyam (2004)
"One of the few horror movies that had me satisfied"
I was just expecting some average horror film that would come out in my monitor. But as I had the video rolling it had hooked me in a very fashionable and stylized movie; a rare feat for most of the Filipino directors we have in this movie industry. These movie as I can consider is a neo-classical gem of a movie. I have watched many horror movies both foreign and local. But honestly I didn't like most of the local movies especially Sukob (which I find at the least boring), and Feng Shui, with the clichéd long black-hair-covered-faced-woman. But this movie can stand on it's own.
The story starts at the wake of the main character's mother. He (Roderick Paulate)had decided with his 4 siblings that they should stay for their mother's Pasiyam. But during the Pasiyam rites they start experiencing horrid manifestations that occur while they are asleep. With the help of the strange lady they uncovered the truth on what really is happening.
The movie is dark, and entertaining. It really got me smiling at the ending. Though I was sad about Ruth (I found Aubrey cute for the first time). A nice film to add in the pantheon of Asian movies. A must see.
Flubber (1997)
Who was that singing in the Flubber dancing scene?
Was it YMA SUMAC singing or someone else. I want to know! I was wondering if it was YMA. The singer has a great voice. And had done great fluctuations on it. Can anyone remember who was that. I didn't see it very clearly. The singer was wearing like a weird fruit hat common for Peruvian, i think. It was in the scene where Weebo released the flabby "flubbers" and saw them multiply and soon began dancing. It was a great scene; that one I love! It was an impressive vocal by the way in what movie was it. My other suspects would be Inva Mula and Mado Robins. The movie was in color which implies it is in the 70's or maybe a restored film from the 50's and 60's.
Bhoot (2003)
Cheaply made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mmmmmmmmmm...I have nothing to say. Everything about this movie is crap. First when I was about to put the disk into the player, I was excited. What could it have? Would it be scary? Soon I set my butt on the couch and launched myself in a vortex of stupidity, nonsense, boringness, and cheapness. The scare scenes are stupid, but the sound is surprisingly clear. But the visual display of the movie is like that of the early 80's. I mean there are tiny granule-like specks. It is like tiny ants crawling all over the T.V. screen. I was really disappointed at this movie. I shall warn you...if you want to save money. Ask those who have watched the movie you like so that there will be no hard feelings in the next minute of your life.
The Exorcist (1973)
Why is the Director's Cut longer?
It makes me confused. Why is the director's cut longer than the Version You've Never Seen. Are there deleted scenes in the version you've never seen, or is it the credits? Why is it longer? I thought that the version you've never seen has all the deleted scenes. Then why is it shorter? Did i miss anything. If I missed something could you tell me. Just tell me why is it shorter? The new version should be longer. But why is the old version longer in terms of running time. Are there scenes removed from the Version You've Never Seen? I think it's nearly 20 minutes or less, compared to the director's cut. Why should it be shorter. The deleted scenes were found in the new version, but why is the director's cut still longer.
Dead Poets Society (1989)
Who should we blame about Neil's death?
Who should we blame, why Neil died. Should it be the Welton Academy? Mr. Keating? Mr. Perry? or himself? Who should we blame why Neil killed himself. Jus t give your opinion and answer this question please.I have watched this movie, at a film viewing in a school. Our teacher asked us who should we blame why he killed himself. But many ideas rose and we don't which should we agree with.
Is it Keating?
Is it Perry's dad?
Is it the school?
Is it Neil's?
