Justice League (2017)
Clearly not as bad as critics want you to believe but still not perfect! Still liked it though!
Even though I am a fan of both Marvel and DC, I was a tiny bit sceptical when going to see JL! I had HUGE expectations since the day they announced but thanks to reviews I toned my hype down before going to watch it. Turns out, it is a REALLY ENTERTAINING film! I'll give you the pros and cons.
PROS: 1)You will most likely love the characters and their new more saturated tones. (Personally LOVED WW & Flash)(But the more saturated costume tone made me fall in love with Superman, and so did the character which is being made justice)(I also might be one of the few people that like Batfleck and still I think he could've been better in this movie) 2)Fight sequences are TOP NOTCH! (if you love battles between superheroes this is a great movie to watch) (Personally my favourite parts of the movie) 3)Finally, some jokes enter the DCEU (and to me they were good and some really funny) 4)The tone is lighter but still a bit dark which I LOVED. (THANKFULLY not as light as Marvel) 5)At least the villain fights. (I read that this movie has villain problems.... and it has, BUT still not as bad problems as Marvel has) 6)It was easy to follow and not broken like BVS... BUT (read the cons pls) 7)Finally, some after-credits scenes and they are GREAT! (Some of my friends were like 'but that's a Marvel thing' and I was like, I know a hundred other franchises that have after-credits scenes)
CONS: 1)At times, especially when it's a close-up, the CGI just looks terrible and cheap but I got over that. 2)I WISH it was longer than 2hrs. Definitely not enough for the characters of the JL to bloom. (They bloom but I wanted more) 3)If it was longer I feel like the story could've evolved much smoother and would probably feel less disjointed and less rushed. (I'll definitely watch the extended version) 4)The end of Steppenwolf could've been better but it was OK. 5)Superman was WAY TOO OVERPOWERED! It felt like everything was over when he returned THAT strong. 6)Danny Elfman did an OK job but let's face it. He is NOT Hans Zimmer. (Very forgettable soundtrack is the best I can do right now)
This was my objective opinion about the film! Overall, for me, it was a good movie and I had a good time at the cinema. If you like DC animated JL movies then you'll probably like this movie too. It felt like watching the cartoon which I think is amazing and gave me that excitement. I think people who haven't gone to watch it should give it a chance and stop listening to critics who were clearly ready to bash it anyway. I definitely believe that it does NOT deserve that much of a low rating on RT or Metacritic. Also, if you give it a chance, they could always fix what you might not like in the next film. I saw improvement and I liked it.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
King Arthur was good!
I just watched the movie tonight. I liked it but I don't think it's anything to gag on. HOWEVER, the visuals are amazing, the acting and soundtrack are great and so is the plot. The fight sequences are off the charts, I really liked those. They reminded me of an anime which had amazing fight scenes. So that was good. King Arthur is a massive story originally, written by many people. I liked the references to the Lady of the Lake as well. I would've liked to see Merlin and see what he can do. Maybe WB was aiming for the film's box office success and letting Merlin show up in a sequel. However, I don't think there is a sequel on the way since the movie hasn't even reached its budget yet. Anyway, Jude Law was amazing in his character gave the movie a different tone. What I liked but also didn't like were the scenes where everything is narrated but is happening at the same time. Anyway, I suggest people to go watch it and judge for themselves. Enjoy!
Wonder Woman (2017)
Best DC movie since the The Dark Knight Trilogy!!!
I just watched it tonight and I am probably going to watch it next week as well but in 4DX cause, I think it will be amazing!! While I was watching it, I was so into it which made me realise that it took the crown of favourite origins story from Iron Man for me. It was amazing. I also understand why she was different than the Diana from Dawn of Justice, and the difference is amazing!! As you can see from the title, this movie is definitely up there with the Dark Knight Trilogy movies! Great acting, in my opinion, awesome visuals and an AMAZING soundtrack!! I am so glad it could give the chance to more women directors to direct a Blockbuster! An AWESOME Job from director Patty Jenkins, she deffo deserves the new record she broke. All of my friends who were with me loved it as well which says a lot because we usually disagree on the smallest details about the movies we watch. Go watch it people, give it a chance and it will amaze you! Enjoy! Keep up the good work DC and WB! Amazing job on this movie!!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
New Pirate adventure - better than the 4th!
So, Pirates is back with their 5th instalment. This one brings back the campy action adventure of Jack Sparrow and it brings a few new elements a few old elements and quite a bit of fun. I was expecting them to have run out of funny scenes but they proved me wrong cause there were some that were really funny! I liked the return of the pearl and the sort of new/old magic element that pirates 5 has and the new cast is likable. I quite enjoyed watching it. Probs a lot of ppl will disagree but I think you should watch it for yourself and then decide.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
It OK but not great! Also, stick till the very end of the credits.
Even though I am saying it was an OK movie it's definitely not thanks to the story in the movie. It is clearly and purely commercial. It's only for the money, it doesn't serve a purpose in the MCU. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that it was a bad movie. You will laugh throughout the entire movie just like the first one, you will like the characters even more. The cast gave a stellar performance and the visuals are top-notch. Things bad with it? 1)the story(basically non-existent, as I said before, it does not serve a purpose), 2)the villain. I watched the double bill at the cinema so I watch one after the other. You can definitely see how much better the first one is in comparison to this but it does not mean that this movie is not worth watching. It's definitely worth watching. Enjoy the film!
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
It was OK-Good!
I am not a fan of musicals but I went to watch this one out of nostalgia. I like the fact that they kept the original songs. Unlike a LOT of people in here, I did not mind the autotune because I didn't want to hear the voices of the actors if they were bad. Now people will complain about choosing a different cast then. The cast was final, end of story, get over it. Also unlike a lot of people in here I am really glad they did not change the story from the original. Since it is a remake I don't expect a whole new story that would totally ruin the original. Besides, with the money Disney has made, a 2nd one is definitely coming, you'll get your different story. The visuals were OK but could have been better especially Belle's village.
Logan (2017)
Logan is SO much more than just another comic book movie
It was unlike anything Marvel-like or comic book-like movie. In short, it was just AMAZING! I like the fact that it was R-Rated and could see the violence in some scenes. Definitely worth watching. An awesome comic book movie if not the best of them all. It competes with the Dark Knight trilogy in terms of how great it was. A movie well done and a fitting farewell for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
Power Rangers (2017)
It was great!!
In short, it was amazing and I am really sad it's not doing good at the box office which means it probably won't have a sequel since the studio won't make money off it. Anyway, I have been begging some of my friends to go and watch but I ended up going alone because they are losers but whatever. I am SO glad I went to watch it because it was freaking awesome. It gave me a good dose of nostalgia, awesome visuals, great music/soundtrack, good cast and OK story. It had the potential to be a franchise opener but people just missed this chance.
Kong: Skull Island (2017)
I had a good surprise when I went to watch this!
I only saw one trailer before going so I had no spoiled scenes and I hadn't read any reviews like the low-starred ones that are probably going to be below my post and I am SO thankful I didn't do those things. Why? Kong Skull Island was an AMAZING monster movie, if not the best monster movie I have ever seen. Awesome visuals and music, good cast and OK story but the monster action in this movie was the BEST! Unlike Godzilla which takes like 1hr to be shown in the 2014 film, we get a look at Kong early on but also throughout the entire movie. In short, I loved it, my friends did as well. It might lack a bit of logic but to be honest, look at ANY action/adventure movie from Hollywood and you won't see any logic in it. So the people saying that in reviews in here are total hypocrites. People who enjoy movies like Fast and Furious would most likely like the movie. (I don't personally like the F&F franchise because it's TOO illogical and the performances kinda annoying).
