Hope Frozen (2019)
Sad story
Sad story about a family desperate to keep their daughter alive. I couldn't help but feel the father was pushing the family to cling to false hope that cryogenics could give their daughter another chance at life. To hear the son say he stayed in the room with Einz when they froze her and saw her eyes get sucked in was gut wrenching. To make the son believe that if he pursued science as a career that he may discover a way to bring her back to life just seems like the father is heaping a huge amount of pressure onto his son. Logic is stretched so far that you have to question their sanity. Einz's brain was very diseased with cancer when she died, so the plan is to freeze her brain in this diseased condition when she has already died, in the hopes that one day the world will a) have developed a cure for this type of cancer and b) can thaw a person out and bring them back to life. Even if they do develop a cure for this type of cancer some day, it would have to work instantly, as Einz has already reached death! And on top of that, somehow regenerate her body. Persuading your family to cling to such a ridiculous plan seems cruel to me. Why not give your daughter a proper burial and allow your family to grieve properly? That poor mother's face with her tears rolling down her cheeks as she followed her husband around the cryogenics lab was difficult to watch. Then the son realizing how far fetched the plan to save Einz was, and trying to explain it to his parents, only for his father to insist there was still hope for the future. Very sad.
