Jumper (2008)
I liked it.
It's fun. It's original. I wish I could do that! Give it 7 for the ride.
Could be much better with other actors, or different directing but hey... its a good axn Sci-fi movie.
It could gain with more time, the industry imposed time for a motion picture makes some original movies confusing because they have to explain it all in little time. Not at all profound or complete, but far from deserving a 1 star. For me, that is the problem with IMDb. Some of the reviews are too radical/passionate. There is NO WAY this movie deserves so little as one star compared to the crap out there - unless you just saw a couple movies in your lifespan-.
I reserve 1/2 star for movies that are propaganda or sell some religion (2012 Doomsday) and 9/10 stars for movies where I wouldn't change a thing (like Fight Club).
Just watch this, you'll have fun.
2012: Doomsday (2008)
If there's a god, protect us from this movie.
This is a bad film.
The plot is the most idiotic thing I remember watching in a long time.
The "god message" takes form after 15 minutes of watching, so you end up waiting just one more minute because you just cant believe what you're seeing.
There's some amazing bad acting going on, like people talking in panic for almost no reason, or doing the most absurd things. Even plain cell phones work in the jungle.
Its a film made for people with short horizons and no brains. Its an excuse to spread the "word of god". And its done in the dumbest, lamest, least appealing way.
...and I do love all genres of cinema.
The Lost Room (2006)
Crappy ending for a great story
Don't get me wrong. I liked the story. Its new, very original and got me glued to my TV the whole time, I mean, until the last 20 minutes that is... then it starts... it gets confusing, the plot changes and looses logic and finally the end, it reminds me of most TV series endings where they need sudden closure, its just idiotic. Nothing is explained (and I have to say I have nothing against open narratives) but this one sucks. I felt like I could have been doing something else, it was a waste of my time.
Do you know the sort of movie where after hours of research and investigation, someone else suddenly decides things will work a certain way? Well this is one of them. They just assume things and it works and then it's over (or something like it). In case you're wondering I wasn't the only one watching it, and the feeling was the same - "what the hell are they thinking???!!".
With a gazillion movies out there, if I knew what I know now, we would have watched something else.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Don't waste your time
Hi! Not gonna say it again and bore you to death. Just read the reviews on this website.
Really loved the first one. It was completely new and scary. Hated the second. Don't be mistaken if you see the first scene (good), its a stupid movie. I just couldn't believe what I was watching...
Frankly, I don't understand how could someone give it more than 4 stars. How many movies have you seen? Was this your fist "horror" (LOL?) movie? Sorry, I just don't get it.
Could anyone please produce "28 hours later" and just pick up where the other one left off?! oh and by the way - COULD YOU GET DANNY BOYLE BACK?! Forget Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
Oh well, another movie bites the dust.
