As already stated by prior reviewers...

Warning: Spoilers
...this movie seems to have gained popularity by a great trailer combined with a number of fake reviews. ...the first suspicion of what to come is the poor acting. ...followed by terrible editing. Scene by scene is presented without a clear "red thread" as we say in Sweden. Except for the scenes in Stockholm, most of the movie is taking place on the Swedish countryside. However, this location is never introduced properly, which makes it difficult to achieve any geospatial understanding. ...and in the after-credits, the movie finishes with some classic Swedish Russophobia. ...as mentioned before, the special effects are great for such a small movie.

James Cameron managed to combine a classic love story with a tragic catastrophy in Titanic. Crazy Pictures are not even close.

Norton good, action boring
17 September 2008
I must admit I never liked the HULK concept. An angry green guy that smashes things... I do like the concept of Bruce Banner. Torn apart by the unstoppable force that gets unleashed as soon as he gets too upset he can't live a normal life. The only choice he has is to become a drifter outside society.

In the incredible Hulk Edward Norton makes a great Bruce Banner. Far away from his earlier life we find him working in a third world factory. There's no question he want his old life back, he carries a picture of Liv Tyler with him and on his laptop he has a contact (Mr Blue) that is trying to find a solution to his HULK problem.

So far, the story and acting is good. The problem with many superhero-movies is that they need super-villains. We've seen the problem with one villain too much in spiderman 3 and that is what the incredible hulk suffers from as well. The action sequences with the abomination is plain boring and it would be enough to see Bruce Banner gets hunted by the authorities without having to involve something just to get to sell plastic toys to kids...

Can one character make a good movie?
16 September 2008
I didn't think so before I went to the cinema to watch the dark knight. Since the Joker was Heath Ledgers last part before his tragic death I thought it was a hype just to honor him. I was wrong. Back in 1989 and Tim Burtons Batman I thought Jack Nicholson was excellent. I never expected anyone to beat his appearance as the insane criminal Joker. I was wrong. Ledger is outstanding and he alone saves what otherwise should be a pretty standard comic book superhero movie. Sure, the dark knight has one bad guy too much (Twoface) and the action sequences with the batpod is so-so. But when the joker enters the plot everything gets interesting in a twisted sort of way.

Bale does once again a good part as the dark knight as well as he did in Batman begins. Cain, Freeman is back as well. Gyllenhaal known from "the secretary" replaces Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.

Now lets hope they are going to film Frank Millers "the dark knight returns"!

Svart Lucia (1992)

Unusual underrated Swedish thriller/horror
15 September 2008
This film is not like other Swedish movies in the genre. It's a dark, psychological thriller with slices of horror.

When I first saw the trailer for Svart Lucia I thought it was a teenage slasher movie but it sure isn't! The characters that is supposed to be high school students feels more like adults. They are affected by poor home environments and the alienation that every person that have lived in a bigger city have felt.

This, together with the dark Swedish winter season builds up tension and chills. Not through knives and blood but by good acting by non-established actors and nice, cold environments.

Well made vampire-flick!
15 September 2008
This miniseries/movie based on Stephen Kings novel has got good acting and great make-up effects. While some people might find it a bit slow I would say it slowly but steady builds up a chilling feeling over the town of Salems lot and the viewers spine!

Horror fans will find similarities with Nosferate while the movie also contains some originality's, especially when it comes to how the victims are transformed into vampires. The usual crucifixes and holy water is there as well.

If you are looking for vampire-action as in Underworld this is not for you though! Beware of the remake, it's not half as good as this original series!
