The Funnest Trainwreck Ever
30 December 2023
Nic Gage may be the only star in this flick but he is a sheer delight w his magical display of talent w the script. The storyline isn't so intriguing but he is captivating and is the grandpa every old man wants to be and every 12 yo girl would love to have defending her. A US weapon long since retired, his skills have not faded and his ability to demoralize criminals sent to snuff him out is hilariously well-done. The other characters do their part in supporting roles but you can't help but look forward to the next scene w Cage to see what antics he will pull and what giggle you will enjoy. If you are looking for a light show w no thinking involved and just want to end w a smile on your face, look no further. Nic Cage for the W!

A Poignant Reminder of Reality
27 December 2023
This story is a blatant reminder that child trafficking is alive and rampant in every corner of our world. One man's fight to combat it as best he can, illustrates the difficult job faced by law enforcement and the emotional toll it takes on the psyche of authorities that take on this fight. This is a difficult watch but one every viewer should take the time to see. The stats at the end are startling and explain why authorities tried to keep it out of theaters. We must fight these atrocities and save our children. Don't wait until the fight comes to you before you are willing to engage in the plight to save the innocents of our world.

Not The Suspense You're Expecting
22 December 2023
This movie caught us completely offguard in a most pleasing way. The cast was excellent and convincing without overselling a NC accent. The beauty of the landscapes drew us in through the magic of the main character's eyes and artwork and the horror of the main plot of an abandoned child could not be overlooked but was inspiring as she saw it as a beautiful characteristic of herself rather than a flaw. No one is surprised at the criticism from the townspeople but at the same time the fact the some saw her even at such a young age meant she was never an invisible "Marsh Girl" and would always become something in this world. Even the closing moments caught us offguard by this beautiful character, Kya!

Pine is Divine but the Plot not so Much
19 November 2023
We watched the trailer and were immediately intrigued w this movie. We love Chris Pine as an actor and he showed off more of his depth in this intense film. His character was well defined and a good statement on the injustices awarded to the he US military and their families. That being said, the plot itself was not unique to the world of former military turned black ops and syill under-developed and haphazard. There were so many unanswered questions at the end of the movie that my husband and I just looked at each other and shrugged. If it hadn't been for Chris Pine's dimples at the closing shot, I would've rated it far lower. Also, Keifer Sutherland gives a lackluster performance which you can't say very often. I even questioned if it was truly him.

A comic sci-fi? Not really but don't miss this one
17 March 2022
Looks can deceive you into thinking this is just another time traveling flick but w the cast that fills the screen of this movie you'll be far from yawning. Ryan Reynolds does an excellent job (per usual) and his younger counterpart Walker Scobell has his mannerisms and attitude down to a tee. Their interaction in itself was worth the watch but throw in Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Garner and you have a must-see flick that touches the heart in many ways (right down to the casting of the dog for Hawking). Enjoy this one again and again!!

A Trainwreck and you Can't Turn Away
21 April 2021
In this conspiracy theorist flick several times we wanted to stop bc it was confusing and we just didn't get it but bc of those same reasons we powered through to see what the truth was in the plot. In general conspiracy theory movies do not appeal to me but this star-studded cast found a way of demanding I continue. I did not see the final ending coming which I love about a movie no matter the genre. You might give it a whirl but be prepared bc it's a roller coaster ride in the slowest proportions.

Love a True Champion Story
5 April 2021
Knowing part of the story going in made this movie all the more intriguing. I enjoyed it being told from the viewpoint of the best friend as in an interview. It gave it such a unique perspective. The techniques were legit and the intensity exciting. I had not expected the Marine twist but that just made it an extra Oorah. I will watch this again and again!!

Intense but how long can it go
1 April 2021
The storyline for this seemed pretty mysterious and full of hidden secrets. Some of the events were predictable but not in a yawny kind of way. The end does seem to drag on for an ungodly lengthy of time at a snail's pace too so we were screaming please end already but it was a good movie that we just hated was based on real life.

Don't be fooled by cast
31 March 2021
This story was one of a family struggling w a son coming out w his sexuality in a "macho" type family. The movie was poorly written. The lines were poorly stated, even broken at unusual spots as if the actors had forgotten their lines. Even at the beginning my husband said "this is a 'B' movie" and that may have been a stretch. A real disappointment for a Duvall movie.

Adventure?
31 March 2021
This was based on a true story but I found the script slow moving and the adventure part of the movie lacking. It was fine and I always enjoy Travolta but this just passed the time.

Revenge or is it Something Else?
30 March 2021
One of the best domestic violence revenge movies ever! Olivia Wilde like you've never seen her in her best role ever!! Yet there is a twist you aren't expecting but are happy with the results of or at least I was. I hope Wilde keeps coming out w such outstanding work. She's amazing!!

History at its Finest
29 March 2021
I love a movie based on historical references and this one did that while allowing the mysterious "legends say" about the ending. That was an added bonus for me for a story I did not know but enjoyed quite a bit. I loved the women empowerment theme to this even though it was the mid 1800s and I appreciated the compassion between unlikely people (and obvious ones). All in all, I'd love to watch this movie again. The cast was superb and the story well-written.

Was that the end?

Loved the Alaska scenery! The cast was outstanding and did a great job. You feel the emotion of the entire movie. Beware of the ending bc it just makes you wanna curse!!

THIS was a Bruce Willis movie?!?
17 August 2020
Never thought I would be disappointed w a Bruce Willis movie but his part was so small in this one I'm not sure it counts. I felt like he was the big name draw to get ppl to see a lower class movie. Anyway, a lot of the script did not make sense or seem realistic. It was just bizarre and unbelievable in a not so good way. Not worth a second watch.

A Byrde's POV
24 May 2020
We recently binged the first 3 seasons of Ozark and I must say Jason Bateman outdid himself!! Season 1 hardly compared to the twists and turns of the next two seasons. The character development is superb and you really never know what to expect. I love a story that leaves you breathless waiting for the next episode and believe me, Season 4 can't get here fast enough!! Kudos to the whole cast on superb acting!!

Fun & Light
24 May 2020
As in any Tim Allen comedy you know you're in for a treat of fun and laughter w this lighthearted take on a man who can't figure out which woman he wants. There seem to be all kinds of laughs from the varied assortment of wives Lefay has chosen over the years and that just adds to the humor of this light film perfect for any day you just need a chuckle.
