Split (IX) (2016)
Excellent movie, but a very unconvincing main actor
22 January 2017
The story is quite enjoyable. All female actresses showed some very convincing acting, especially Anya Taylor-Joy. Unfortunately, James McAvoy was the worst part of the movie. He did over-acting up to the point that it became annoying. He tried way too hard to portray the roles. The way he tried to be Hedwig and Barry was too much over-acting and looked very fake. James McAvoy has no clue how to act like a 9 year old child that Hedwig was supposed to be. He does it too stereotypical and too over-the-top. The female roles in the movie had to compensate for the lack of acting talent of James McAvoy. Luckily, the actresses were so good that it ended up being a good movie. The story wasn't the problem, because it was good. The main problem was the choice to cast a very unskilled actor, James McAvoy. His bad acting ruined the movie, but the excellent story and good actresses made it worth watching.

La La Land (2016)
anti-Chinese sentiments in a movie that could be good
30 December 2016
The movie itself isn't bad. It could be a good movie. What strikes me is the anti-Chinese sentiments that is repeatedly expressed in this movie. The French-Anglo director Damien Chazelle is obviously racist against the Chinese.

First, he made Ryan Gosling tell the audience that nobody would ever want Chinese coffee. Later on, Emma Stone's boyfriend who's supposed to portray a real jerk, shows that he does business with Chinese people. He also tells that the Chinese is building a bridge (which is controversial) as a hidden political message to the movie viewer.

This Frenchman obviously has a lot of hidden anti-Chinese frustration and tries to use La La Land as racist anti-Chinese propaganda for his own hidden political racist views against ethnic Chinese people.

The movie's story itself wasn't bad and it was quite well executed but ruined by the butt-hurt personal political frustration of this racist French-Anglo director/writer, Damien Chazelle. It's no wonder that an Asian Man-White woman couple is the only couple that has been banned from showing in this movie.

If the movie wasn't politically motivated, I would give it a higher score.

The Fog (2005)
The worst horror movie in history
21 February 2015
There is nothing scary about this cheap movie full of rip-off clichés. They are so desperate to get your attention that they even try to pander to racist viewers by blaming Leprosy disease on Chinese people. The acting is awful and painful to watch. The atmosphere is a complete joke. Not scary at all.

The start of the movie is too rushed. They try to go into the fog thing too early. Then, it's foggy everywhere and they just throw in one stupid thing after the other. It doesn't work. It really shows Rupert Wainwright's lack of talent and originality. The only thing he does is copy and rip-off existing concepts. All supposedly action scenes are executed horribly. I started to get fed up with this movie really quickly.

Stephen King's The Mist is the exact opposite of this terrible movie. Go watch that instead. Don't waste your time watching this garbage.

The Ledge (2011)
Great acting, but injustice is being praised
12 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Shana is married to Joe. She gets a crush on her employer Gavin. Initially, she keeps Gavin at distance. Later on, she decides to cheat on her husband. Joe spies on the on 2 occasions. Even though he could confront them red-handed, he doesn't do so. The bad thing about this movie is that they use Joe's enthusiasm for religion as an excuse to portray him as a bad guy. He doesn't do anything wrong, except trying to trust more in Christianity. Even though I am not religious myself, this really bothered me about this movie. They try to tell the viewer that it's okay to cheat on your husband in this situation. Gavin and Shana are portrayed as the good guys. To make it worse, Shana came home after sex with Gavin and shamelessly smiled at Joe. The director wants confirm that Joe is the bad guy and Shana the "victim" because she "only wanted to cheat". The view of the story writers is really feminist and quite despicable. The guy who tries to save Gavin from suicide is also supposed to forgive his own cheating wife in the movie.

I still give it a 6, because the acting is very convincing. Especially Patrick Wilson, who is a formidable actor. The flash backs and construction of the movie is also well done. I just don't agree with the huge amount of injustice in the movie.

Bad movie
9 May 2013
I was curious about this movie and was disappointed. It attempts to commercially abuse a terrible disease. The drama is bad. The actors are highly unlikeable characters and the story filmed unconvincingly. To add "humor", they include a long racist scene in a Chinese restaurant in attempt to be funny. The actor on the right side of the table even gives a hostile look to the Chinese waiter, while the character on the left says some more racist jokes. The whole movie was an insult to MS patients. The movie did not increase sympathy, but uses MS as a way to make people watch it. I totally regret watching this lame movie. Very bad. Not recommended.

Rookie Blue (2010–2015)
Racist slander series
7 April 2013
I was interested in this Canadian TV show and decided to give it a go. I watched the episode about so-called "Asian gang triads". This episode is full of racist slander. I mean, a group of mediterranean cops (self-proclaimed Americans) that try to breach in an "asian triad". Everyone knows that Chinese triads are all foreigners that operate in the West. Western-born Chinese people are all straight-A students and very Westernized (i.e. no accent, highly-educated). How come they even attempt to portray 2nd generation Asian-Americans as triad-members? It woul be like portraying those mediterranean cops as Italian gang members. It is totally outrageous and very pathetic of these amateur Canadians.

In one scene, a white policeman keeps saying "Here, Kenny, Kenny Kenny,...", referring to "Kenny Chan". What this white man means is that Asian people are dogs. It's actually shown on TV channels worldwide. They show a black police woman to balance the racism out.

To sum it all up, it's a group of Italian- and Wester-European immigrants in Canada that put up a huge amount of racist slander/lies about 2nd generation Asian-Americans. Avoid using your bandwidth for this racist Italian garbage. I gave it 1 star, because I couldn't choose 0. Rookie Blue is the most racist TV shows of the recent years.

Utterly disappointed. Avoid wasting your time on this.

Uncertainty (2008)
Unoriginal, politically-motivated cliché movie
28 December 2012
I'll write about the positive and negative aspects of this movie.

One positive thing about this movie is the camera work. It is done in decent lighting and really shows the atmosphere that it tries to create. The acting is convincing and not over-acted.

The movie is incredibly cliché and shows a huge lack in originality and it also tries to send a political message. Two Europeans in America are chased by a Chinese man with a gun. These Europeans in this movie have feelings and are real persons. The Chinese man is just a criminal without any personality in this movie. Just a plain murderer.

This movie still gets a 1 out of 10 for the camera work. It doesn't get a higher score, because it's a very racist movie.
