The Idea of You (2024)
Terrible
What was Anne H thinking when she accepted this project? She being a serious actress and done high quality movies, this seems like she went on a crisis. The concert scenes are extremely boring and except for the moment they met, the interactions between both are very forced and fake. The idea of the plot could have been a great one if they had taken out the pop star piece and ridiculous paparazzi scenes. They could have done a very deep emotional and smart story of romance between two normal people and it would have been worth watching or even recommended. Both actors are very good so is a pity they accepted this terrible bad movie. Don't waste your time.
Memory (2023)
Reminds me of High School Movie Project
Jessica and Peter are great and will perform with quality no matter which project they are hired for. The script and the direction felt very amateur. Scenes sequence was forced without smooth transition. I also noticed errors on their continuity.
The relation between Sylvia and Saul felt forced as well, similar to soap operas trying to say a story of two broken people falling in love.
The surrounding characters felt all like "background" people like the ones in school movie projects are forced to appear on the film as part of their assignment.
Michele Franco didn't seem good to me as writer not director. I couldn't see any form of Art in his work. The film reminded me of the ones we wrote and filmed as part of a high school class. Huge gap with Inarriitu's work if we compare him with other Mexican directors. Disappointing.
El Cid (2020)
Great scenery and customs, Bad casting and Forced Plot
This production met high quality scenery and customs design. Season One has a good flow and the introduction of the characters comes strong. Season Two does not manage to keep the chemistry between characters breaking the realistic performance built in Season One. Acting looks fake, the characters decisions and purpose behind their actions are not realistic and feel
forced. Was disappointing to watch Season Two and all the cast efforts and budget not achieve the quality of the first Season.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
From 8 Stars to 6 Stars by Season 4
For the sake of selling and extending the series, the boring and "getting old" predictable rollercoaster of the series is starting to become frustrating. Same story: the mean characters win, then June wins, then the mean ones again, then June, over and over the same cycle. On Season 4, the thing of torturing June to find the other handmaids is soooo unrealistic and senseless. Nobody would care about where the handmaids were. The only valuable person to find and kill is June so that the revolution can stop. Selena and Fred in Canada, another unrealistic situation, just a filler of the series. Producers and writers should shift the story to get June into the plot of how she will be saving the US : have the Eyes and Guards fight against the commanders, the Wives rebel, keep sending kids out of Gilead into Canada, etc... They could still get a couple of more seasons based on this. It started to become so painful to watch the same story from the last two seasons. Hope the producers realize it and save the series before it keeps going downwards...
Roma (2018)
Forced
Big Cuaron's failure by forcing each of his memories from the 70s one scene after the next. Acting and the ending were the only good thing. Sounded like Cuaron saying "Do you remember how the cars didnt fit in the garages? Do you remember how the garbage truck passed with the garbage man ringing the bell? Do you remember how the clothes were washed? Do you remember the movie theatres?.. Do you remember going to watch the movie? Do you remember the magazine stand? Do you remember..? And ...? ". Disappointing.
