Dosar (2006)
Rituparno is the best director we have today
A movie completely belongs to Konkona Sen Sharma, plays the role of betrayed wife.Dosar is a movie talks about the story of husband and wife, how husband cheated his wife and wife cannot leave him due to her duties towards her marriage. The story is unique and depicted in the movie excellently.
The best thing in the movie is,it is in black and White and all the emotions depicted in the movie was just more than perfect. This is an amazing movie and nobody should miss this excellent movie of Rituparno Ghosh.Rituparno is an excellent director no doubt. He is one of the best director today that we have.
Do Dooni Chaar (2010)
Reminds you of your own family and their struggle
Most of the reviews of this movie Do Dooni chaar talks about the storyline, let me explain the character of Rishi Kapoor,Mr. Duggal. He is a maths teacher, and may be that is the reason, movie's name is mathematical. With his salary as a school teacher can't complete his family members desires so he also takes tutions in a private institute. He rides an old Bajaj scooter and lives with his family (consisting of his wife, son and daughter) in a moderate single bedroom flat.To keep his family happy,he compromises for their children and never think of himself, always want his wife and his children happy.I am sure this description reminds you of your family head if you belong to middle class family.
Rok Sako To Rok Lo (2004)
Full of Entertainment
Rok Sako To Rok Lo stands out by sheer quality of its production. The scenes depicting immature love are directed with dense maturity. Debutante director Arindam Chaudhuri does not make the audience feel he's a first timer. He has made the film with refined finesse. For someone directing his first film, that too with first timers in the lead role and a heavyweight(Sunny Deol) to manage in a special role, it's a directorial triumph. Rok Sako.. leaves behind a positive taste and cuts like a warm knife in butter.. throughout its duration. It's a good family entertainer especially if you have school going kids in your family. I hope more such films are made in India that not only entertain but also leave behind a strong message and cuts away from the usual and boring. All points to Rok Sako to rok lo and its team for the entertainment.
Saanjhbatir Roopkathara (2002)
A classic movie by Anjan Das.
Saanjhbathir Roopkathara is the story of a young dreamer. The title character,Saanjhbaatir(Indrani Halder)dreams of beauty, love and happiness. But her dreams are broken when she encounters all men she meets(men are portrayed as lusting objects, with the exception of the father. The story has been told beautifully through poetry and symbolism. Director Anjan Das presents Tukun aka Saanjhbathi's world. Her world is also presented through her father's wonderful paintings from which she draws inspiration. Indrani Halder gracefully plays the title role with sincerity and maturity while Soumitra Chatterjee is sublime.Use of music is less when compared to other films which makes Saanjhbathi's world more real. While we see her as a lonely dreamer, we gradually learn that she's not the only one and eventually she realizes that she's not lonely. The film opens at a night illuminated by a lit candle and ends at a stormy night and between all this night we see the journey of self-discovery of a lost father and a lost daughter. I would love to watch this movie again and again to discover more symbolism. It is a beautiful film and among the best movie that I have seen till now.
