The Godfather Part III (1990)
Very Disappointing
I have to say I am a Godfather Fan-aticc ...Parts 1 & 2 are Wonderful!
They were really getting down to the real nitty gritty, and I was very excited to hear that they were doing a Godfather part 3 .But sadly it was a very weak story line and I was very disappointed in the fact that there was no REAL thought put into the ending.I felt that the fans were a little let down.I think he should have left the movie ALONE and let the fans work out their own endings...Thats why we have IMAGINATION!!Some Saga's should never have an ending (ESPECIALLY IF IT'S GOOD)Anyways I heard something very interesting recently..That they are thinking of continuing the Andy Garcia(Vincent) storyline..I don't know about that idea (everyones dead except Connie,Anthony,Kay,)WHAT DOES THAT TELL YA!
A Bronx Tale (1993)
Brilliant
The pairing of Chazz P. and Robert DeNiro was an awesome combination. There are just so many scenes in this movie that are brilliant. I also personally thought that this movie was a small bio of Deniro even though it was originally a play by Chazz P. and that Lorenzo and Rose ( which are Cologero Parents) are the same names of Chazz P. real parents.I think this statement from the movie poster says it correctly: This is a story about One man who Lived in the Neighborhood and The Other Man Who Owned It!Thats it! Thats exactly what it was about.A man trying to hold on to his son before the streets swallow him up.From the time Cologero saw Sonny murder a man in front of his house this 9 year old was consumed with the idea of ("Not Being a Rat)Remember he told his father I didn't rat dad! I didn't rat...and his father says:No son you didn't rat,You Just did a Good Thing for a Bad Man.Everything his father would tell him would always come back to mind sooner or later.Even as he got older, you could still see the struggle his father was going through just to keep his son on the right path..At the end when Sonny got killed Who was there ...his dad. The line I liked was: I never hated Sonny I just didn't like the fact that he was making you grow up so fast. This movie was truly brilliant.I would suggest if you haven't seen it ..Check it out
The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967)
Best Capone I've ever seen!
I watched this movie several times and Jason Robards does an excellent job as Al Capone.Yes I know Robert DeNiro did his part as Capone but the Untouchables was not about him so what he added to the movie was typical DeNiro('YOU Talking TO ME')attitude.Ben Gazzarra also did Capone but it seemed more of an effort for him to get it right, so the performance came out a little stale in the end. No,in my opinion Jason Robards did it right.I especially like the scenes that lead to the killing of Aiello..Where he talks to his friend Patsy and tries to warn him about the rumors he's hearing about Aiello trying to kill him and then finds out that Patsy was double-crossed by the person he thought was his friend (Aiello). The scene where Al (Robards)gets the phone call that Patsy is dead floored me because Jason Robards started speaking fluent italian with such anger it made the whole scene believable that you felt THAT WAS THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYED! and when he finally catches up with Aiello( Al takes care of Aiello himself)...It was beautiful. The whole docu-drama aspect, wardrobe, music just added to the flavor of the movie.
