Rushed edit/directing, lazy writing
19 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Let me state firstly that I would not call myself a Star Wars fanatic. I purely watch the franchise just to be entertained by the movie as it has been generally since they restarted the franchise with Episode VII and multiple spin offs. Especially after seeing the Mandalorians. I was also one of the rare one who enjoyed The Last Jedi. I honestly didn't give a lot of thoughts about how the story should be written, as long as the story is told well and clever enough to keep me entertained. But despite my low fanaticism towards the franchise, The Rise of Skywalker manage to still fail in so many levels...

As someone pointed out here, the first 5-10 minutes of the movie I was immediately getting a really bad vibe. Its like watching a trailer of another movie where Palpatine is alive and there an odd pyramid looking artifact. Huh?! I stuck it out hoping the rushed feeling of the movie will finally subside after this, but alas it was maintained throughout. There were many scenes where it felt rushed and it jumped around; the scenes & dialogues felt rushed to fit the cut, as if the director doesn't care how to tell it well as long the viewer gets the story. Some of these scenes made me feel like I'm watching the movie at 2x the speed...

Then the amount of plotholes in the movie that just made you do a facepalm after faceplam. I don't mind one or two.. but this many?? Conveniently getting suck by a quicksand that leads to the clue, Rey controlling a starship but not a sand bike, Rey jumping like Neo but struggle to climb some structures, conveniently standing on a spot where the dagger shape fit the landscape, apparently an X wing submerged for years can still fly, easily going through the rough seas they initially suggest to be too dangerous, a Final Order starships capable of each destroying a planet but park themselves somewhere all these years and apparently can be easily shot down by a small fighters... sigh, I could go on and on

Also they decided to throw multiple new characters, who probably don't add much values..... a new useless droid, another ex-stormtrooper, another masked character. None of them play a crucial role enough and hardly any character build being thought of. They just throw them in there.. just because. They carelessly ditched some characters importance completely (Rose, Maz). Plus watching Lando in the movie feels much like having your grandpa sitting in the car with you & your friends, getting excited just because he get to hang out with the younger kids. LOL and yikes.

And what's with the last scene of Rey Skywalker? The orange lightsaber? What did Finn wanted to say to Rey? Kylo and Rey had a thing for each other? Didn't Snoke arranged Kylo & Rey crossovers in The Last Jedi, why is it still happening now? And you can pass things around using Force now? What? How? Why?! WTF!

Anyway, what a way to destroy the final trilogy...... GG

The extreme worst of all Resident Evil series
13 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I love Resident Evil series. Despite the mediocre reviews it gets in the past, I still go to the cinema on its release and always looking forward for the next sequel.

But RE5 fails beyond believe. The storyline is utterly crap. The action are cheesy, the actors are cheesy, the whole movie is a joke to the RE series. I am completely disappointed at how the whole movie turns out to be.

*spoiler alert* The whole movie is set on one giant Umbrella underwater laboratory and Alice and friends is trying to break out of it. Along the way they encounter some zombies and finally got out. And that's literally about the summary of the whole story!

They try to use music to intensify everything.. but it becomes very cheesy. Especially towards the end before the final fight when Jill walks out of the submarine.

The Red Queen is total crap. Cheesy, stupid..

The fighting scene itself is very cheesy and unrealistic. They hardly get hit by a bullet even when they were standing in open view. But it seems like their bullet always managed to hit the enemy. Even the one bullet that hit Alice, didn't even do her much harm. What a load of crap.

At the final fight, it was obvious some of them had had their bones cracked. But they were still standing and fighting as if their bone is not really a necessary part of their body. They look pretty healthy for someone with broken bone!

When Alice beats Jill.. it was so obvious from the beginning that that's what needs to be done. But the scriptwriter must've made Alice so dumb that she did not realize that from the beginning. Sadly, the viewers are not as dumb as the scriptwriter.

And on the final scene when Leon touches Ada's thigh.. THATS AS CHEESIEST AS IT COULD GET! I could almost cry looking at that scene. What the f... *sigh*

I apologize for using a lot of "cheesy" word in my review. But it is exactly how I feel when I see it. It's like a bunch of amateurs movie makers trying to make action movie.

All in all, I wouldn't even rate it 5 for effort. Its a total lazy movie writing. I still want to see RE6, but I seriously hope they do not FAIL as big as this one.

What a load of crap this movie is.
