Paranormal: The Myth of the Guardian of The Cave (2020)
WEAKEST episode of the season!
This is the worst episode this season mainly because of the bad cgi and motion effects which was obviously cut in editing trying to hide this flaws but ended up failing even more(you could have just kept the monster a mystery as the books) , also the plot was kinda cliche with the protagonist Searching for this medicine to save his fiancée Coincidentally in Libya so as the medical conference. And them being in the desert for days like a walk in the park. I hope they adress these mistakes and avoid them in upcoming seasons (hopefully).
Paranormal (2020)
A solid start!
So as a start I didn't have the chance of reading the books so my opinion is solely focused on the show..
+++Ahmed Amin as Refaat Ismaeel was great acting wise and voice over (physical acting wasn't as great, like him handling the axe or falling off the ladder)
+++cinematography was top notch
+++The score by Khaled Alkammar was phenomenal and catchy
++Secondary characters were great especially Raeefa and Reda
- CGI wasn't that great at some times like in the third episode (would have been better if there were more reliance on practical
- Dramatic aspect of the story was under-utilised in the first half of the season
All in all a solid start to a promising show, definitely grants a second watch and hopefully a second season.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #1.8 (2015)
I tried to like it, but..
First of all I'm a fan of this show and I'll be waiting for season's 2 release and season 1 started off well and exceeded my expectations.
The season finale could've been much better if certain scenes were not just there as they made absolutely no sense like Uthred breaking the danes shield wall and killing many of them without even getting a scratch and then father beocca handing him the spear from half the field away, another problem was how was Uthred's voice was heard through the Saxons army giving the commands of advancing or halting. I'm not an expert of warfare but there was no way he could organize their frontline by just screaming at them and then the rest to follow his lead. I'm not nitpicking but these scenes among others made this episode just bad to the point of laughing.
However I enjoyed almost the rest of the episode like the last battle sequence. It was well done and the soundtrack was really good also the deaths of queen Iseult and his son were emotional.
4/10
