Twister but interesting
23 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Well Cillian Murphy did a good job of playing John Skilpa, the loner bank teller who lives a very cloistered life, but is the towns odd man The story is well documented in other reviews but the real sick one is John's dead mother, who clearly was severe abusive in any number of ways towards John, both as a child and adult.

As the story unfolds, you wonder why no one says 'Mrs skilpa, you sure look like your husband' Just realize this story is immeasurably sad outcome of parental abuse in the extreme and it's possible outcome!

If you have severe mental issues, get help BEFORE having kids ! PLS!

A light heartened but meaningful romp
27 December 2022
I really enjoyed this movie, mostly because there wasn't gore, blood and guns galore! So sick of incredibly violent movies.

Instead we r treated to a small town in Michigan where Jerry is basically forced to retire after more than 4 decades with Kellogg's running a production line. Jerry has a unique gift and can see patterns and has a knack for numbers. After struggling to figure out how to retire and enjoy his golden years, and failing to find a solution, he is sitting at a table one day and starts perusing the lottery games he can play. He quickly figures out a flaw in one of the games and asks himself, is this risk worth it? The remainder of the movie is about what he decides. It's a nice light movie that is fun to watch. How I wish more good stories like this would be made into movies. This is a family movie as well!

Real life here and around the world
2 November 2022
Ppl, stop with trying to make this a political stmt. This kind of sorrow and tragedy is evident the world over. Too many ppl have had it too good here and don't even want to consider that these ppl r desperate. Most would rather stay in their own country but due to climate change, war, famine and other problems, they are just trying to survive. For those of you who have no empathy, you are horrible human beings. You could easily have been born in these areas and you would be desperate for a place to go. The west has had the lions share of wealth and all you can do is dismiss this global plight.

A symbolic telling of an autistics voice via her movie script
24 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a former therapist I found this movie rather compelling. An autistic young woman, who knows she is different and struggles to understand emotions, particularly her own sets out to write a movie script for a competition, in which first prize is $100k. She hopes to use this money to leave her assisted care facility and go home to live with her older sister, who cared for her until she felt too worried about her sisters emotional outbursts and what she might do to her and her husbands newborn. When Wendy has an outburst and is unable to send her movie script in to Paramount Pictures in time, she decides to ride a bus from SF to LA. The movie shows her adventures and mishaps along the way, as well as her ultimate triumph in reaching the studio in time to submit her script. While searching for her, her therapist and her older sister begin to understand and appreciate Wendy's Abilities in a new light. Ultimately forever changing the dynamic between Wendy and her sister. A thoughtful treatise on one level though in my experience, depending on what side of the spectrum an autistic is on, some of Wendy's gestures aren't necessarily real or would occur. However it was an interesting movie and for once we didn't have to hear curse words or see violence constantly. Oh and the dog dressed up in a Star Trek uniform was adorable.

Are you ppl nuts?
4 February 2022
This movie is one of the most disturbing movies I have seen in my lifetime. Surprised Toni Collette was involved with this. The story is just plain crap and the visuals will gross you out. Truly this movies feels like they were trying to create a new level of disgusting. Anyone sensitive should NOT watch this and definitely keep this away from kids. I can't recommend this traumatizing movie at all.

They have captured a decent amt of the southern redneck
18 January 2022
How to describe this series? Family moves overnight from rich suburban to one on the run to the Ozarks. Now THAT is hell on earth! They have captured a decent portion of the southern culture. Story has a lot of twists and turns but it does have a great deal of implausibility. I mean Marty has more lives than James Bond. I binge watched this and I found some of it boring and insipid, but it's a bit different and not run of the mill and for that, I enjoyed it.

How disgusting and gross can writers be?
30 January 2021
Recently divorced father raising two kids in the south Carolina country. Seriously the story is so gross with the daughter being a sacrificial lamb. Just horrific and could really be disturbing to children as well as adults. If you have children that are sensitive I wouldn't recommend watching

Not inclined to love it like others have
19 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I just didn't see the appeal. The editing is messed up bec Greenwood only says once that Amy is his niece. U really have to listen hard for the dialogue and I never like that when I can't easily see the family relationships. I enjoyed Susan Keeners performance. Ultimately a suicidal young mans chosen exit is the end result of the rejection by his parents. Simply too odd and I wouldn't watch again

Rather shocked at how BAD this movie is
18 January 2021
I love Anne Hathaway and wanted soemthing new to watch but I still haven't recovered at how really BAD this movie is. It seems like they just threw a couple of writers in a room and told them 'put something out in 3 days!' And it shows! Couldn't waste that much tome again. You will prolly HATE IT! I know I did bec when it ended I yelled WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT! the only redeeming scene is the hedgehog!😂🤣🤣

Just a decent guy and boy do we need some of them!
9 June 2016
The real reason i rather enjoyed this biopic was simple. This was a guy who is just a decent man. Extremely talented...had no idea he was a figure skater or horseman. I never saw him as a incredibly handsome man...guess he isn't my type, but i really enjoyed listening to his comments.

For once, someone who is down to earth and not outlandish or known for antics and acting up. Just a decent human being with his faults, but also obvious virtues.

Its worth watching....not too many like this anymore. I really miss real, insightful and honest people on TV anymore.
