Land of the Dead (2005)
Romero scores again with another masterpiece since 78
I went to the 12 am screening of this last night. I went expecting another boring zombie movie with little character development and a pathetic plot. I have been a fan of Romero's work for sometime now and i feel he is a great director, but judging by the commercials this movie just looks like a regular boring zombie movie. The movie starts off showing the land where zombies live and how they are starting to develop human qualities, and then it goes to the human world where the poor live on the streets and the rich live in this beautiful resort. This makes another plot besides just the zombies. It parallels the evil of humans to the instinct of zombies. The gore was top notch, but a little "hollywoodized". Some parts Romero would cut away and not show it or show a shadow being decapitated, in other movies he would never do that and he was obviously very affected by the MPAA. The story of the evil humans and the story of the zombies trying to get into the human lair is great. All these things make Romero the great filmmaker he is today.
Angels in the Attic (1998)
Weird movie
TWo kids find a large sum of money in there attack. What would you do with the money? I would personally go around spending all of it everywhere. What do these two horrible acting kids do with the money? They by presents for the neighbors. It is so pathetic. It is a huge suck up movie. Not once did you think the kids were endanger. None of it was funny at all. I can't see anyone liking this movie. Even 3year old kids. The dialogue was horrific. Nobody would say the things they would. Everyone was to nice. And they spent a lot of money and you think was over a fewdays but then you find out it was the same day they found it meanwhile the kids had like 24 dinners with there parents. Weird movie.
The Girl Next Door (2004)
BEst movie i have seen in a while
When I saw the commercial for this movie I thought it would be like the American Pies, (Lots of nudity and vulgar moments), But this was a very tastefully done movie with a very good love story to it. At times it could be quite raunchy but that is very small detail to the movie. The tagline misleads you also, (He never saw her coming, but all his friends had). It makes you think it is going to be very risky, but it is not. Elisha Cuthbert and Emile Hirsh are to wonderful actors and between them had great chemistry. After I watched this movie I couldn't take my mind off it for weeks. I have got the unrated on DVD and I made all my friends watch it and they loved it. Very well done, wonderful direction and acting, 10 out of 10. A must see.
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999)
Horrible
When i watched the first FDTD, i thought it was far from a masterpiece but an excellent movie. Then i couldn't wait to watch the sequel. I didn't believe what this site was saying about this gruesome sequel so i bought it for 13 dollars. I couldn't rent it because they didn't have it, probably because it was so terrible! The special effects are laughable and the acting is worse. Scott Spiegel has no idea of how to direct movies and his camera angles? What is up with that. All in all don't waste any money on this movie... It is TErrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on a 1 to 10 scale i would give it a -500. Don't watch this and don't be like me and but it.
