Mile 22 (2018)
I was so looking forward to this... disappointment
Definitely didn't live up to the hype. Action sequences were fun, but the story was utter garbage. Hints at a sequel..... really.
Halloween (2018)
Let's show some respect! This film does just that.
Actually 4.75 in my opinion. I'm sure that people and critics will find reasons to bash this movie. I watched the original 1978 film a few days ago and watched the new film tonight at Regal in RPX. This movie truly pays respects to the original in many, many ways. I would have to say the film makers took 1978 Michael and teleported him to 2018. They made him a brutal 2018 horror movie killer but left his demeanor and stillness as it was in the original. Sure there are differences, but both, the differences and likenesses, are what make this movie great. I thoroughly enjoyed the film through the eyes of my childhood self when I watched the original. The haters will be haters with their, "Nothing new here" attitude. I walked in skeptical.. uh, another reboot! But, I walked out wanting to see it again. I would actually like to give it a 5, but I will settle for a 4.75 for you haters out there.
I read a review where they called this film a "love letter to the original picture", and I have to agree entirely.
Winter Ridge (2018)
If only the movie was as great as the locale
Beautiful locale is one of the only redeeming qualities in this movie. The acting was merely okay, but overall, the movie was a bit boring. The whodunnit was quite easy to figure out. If you want to support low budget films then give this a go. Otherwise, pass.
Like Father (2018)
Touching film
I really loved Kelsey's character. He seemed very genuine. Even will all the advertising, I still enjoyed the film. Makes you realize how lucky we are to have the love of family.
Tag (2018)
childish fun
Not as funny as I though it would be, but there were some very enjoyable scenes that brought me back to my childhood.
Book Club (2018)
I enjoyed this film!
Funny movie with a great cast. Enjoy the movie without taking it too serious. I think Keaton's character truly shows the struggle an aging parent goes through when trying to balance family with a new life in your later years.
Happy Death Day (2017)
Fun twist to the horror genre
Jessica Rothe literally killed it in this film. Very entertaining and not cheesy, which is what I've come to expect when you mix comedy with horror. If you haven't seen this, you should. Don't forget the popcorn.
Solid 7.5 rating
