Alone Together (2022)
Not Good
Full disclosure, I did fast forward a few times near the end and I agree with most of the reviews. The script ...lackluster. The chemistry....nonexistent. I almost stopped watching it, but I thought, let me just see it through. It didn't get better, it was almost cringy to watch. If it was trying to be an indie film...I just didn't get any sense of motivation or personality from any of the characters. It all seemed so forced.
This formulaic romance (no comedy anywhere) seemed a bit immature . A more mid twenties type of relationship thing. (Yet it was cast with forty year old actors)
If I could turn back time I would just skipped this movie.
Feed Me (2022)
Worth a watch ...judge for yourself
Lionel is crazzzzzy. His over the top performance was enjoyable for me . The chemistry between Jed and Lionel (Lye) was what kept me watching. It had its comedic bromance moments and then it got dark and stayed dark. Yes there are some execution issues. One scene seemed out of place and incomplete.
And what's with the lamps??
Lionel is complex but not completely fleshed out for us. One scene you see he has scars all over his body including his head. Implying severe abuse by his mother.
He is alone , lonely and wanting to connect with humanity but I guess cannibalism is the only way he can.
The flashback scenes could have been done better or just omitted and done with voice overs. With that said ...it's a good 'bad' movie.
The Lake (2022)
Great cast ...loved the banter and quick wit.
This was a fun series I really enjoyed it. Yes there is some drugs ...some talk of threesomes, vibrators but I didn't feel it was done in a shocking way. All in all just people trying to connect and heal in a comedically acerbic way.
