WOW.
8 October 2004
What amazes me is that a movie could be so bad. "Voice" has no plot and no point.

Not being a Hilary Duff fan myself (far from it), I wasn't expecting good things from this movie, but it disappointed even my wildest expectations. All the actors were great, expect Duff, and Oliver James shone in his part.

Hilary Duff isn't a very good actress, and she's a far worse singer. She has yet to realize this.

The plot had a lot of things thrown into it that didn't really fit with the story, like the whole Kiwi/Salone part. Not a very good movie, and definitely not worth the six bucks I paid for it. 0/10.

The Alamo (2004)

A Good Historical Movie
9 May 2004
This was a pretty good and, as far as I know, historically accurate movie. Although I was disappointed that the "line in the sand" incident was left out, I really enjoyed this movie and was moved by the emotions shown by the characters. Davy Crockett (who prefers David) was a comic relief until his bitter end. William Travis was a strong man, obviously at odds with Jim Bowie, who became a hero in his own way. I was impressed by the amount of detail put into this movie. The way the film maker focused on the important characters made the story move along, while still leaving the viewers in the loop. All things considered, this was a movie that lined up with my understanding of the way the Alamo Battle went down. I was a bit disappointed at the way the Mexicans were portrayed as ruthless butchers, but other than that, it gets my vote. Overall grade: A

Pixel Perfect (2004 TV Movie)

One of Disney's best
8 May 2004
This movie, to say the least, was one of the best I've seen the Disney channel make in a long time. It's a relief after all the "never-before-seen" episodes of That's So Raven and Lizzie McGuire we've all had to watch over and over. It's refreshing to see someone new. I'll admit, the flips Loretta did when she sang were very fake looking, but the whole story line was well communicated to the viewers. The makers of the film managed to get actors and actresses who weren't over-exposed, but still did quality work. Ricky Ullman did a spectacular job playing the scientific but cute and lovable Roscoe, and Leah Pipes displayed acting ability beyond anything I've ever seen from Disney Channel before. The emotion her character showed really did a lot for the movie. Overall grade: A

A Chick Flick
8 May 2004
This was, obviously, a chick flick. When I went to see it, there can't have been more than 2 boys in the theater. Oh well. This was one of the sweetest, cutest, and bitter-sweet movies I've seen in a while. Althought the plot is a little over-used (Tom Hanks' "Big"), the put a fresh spin on it by making all her friends get older as well. Mark Ruffalo, who plays Matt, did an exellent acting job. You could tell he was slowly falling for Jenna. Jennifer Garner, who ususally delivers a stunning performanc, didn't disappoint fans, of which I am one. She just looks sweet and naive, and she did an awesome job of portraying a confused girl in a woman's body. Overall rating: A-

BEST MOVIE EVAH!!!!
7 May 2004
I saw this movie three times. It amazes me still that a movie could be this good. It's got special effects that don't look totally fake, and it's got a good plot that moves fast, but doesn't leave viewers in the dust. Ok, so the part about the un-dead was a little creepy, but beyonnd that, it's one of the best movies I have seen since the Lord of the Rings trilogy began. It's better than 1 and 2 combined. Andy Serkis deserves props for his exellent portrayal of Gollum, which can't have been easy. I mean, jumping in just thawed water 4 times??? Wow. You have my vote for best performance of an actor that will never be seen by the public. Overall grade: A+
