The Cleaning Lady (2022)
There are a lot of generous/optimistic reviews here..
I watched 1 episode and that was enough, if this had been made 10+years ago it might have been bearable but this is the golden age of the TV series and this is alas a gold plated turd.
Starting with ridiculously good-looking lead and her normal looking (and therefore less moral friend), the cliches just pile up. The mafia guy who is a gentleman (please! This is a corny as 50 shades of Grey!). The gropey sexist boss trope, who therefore gets what he deserves, the cringe worthy sex party at the bosses house which we of course is too decent to attend... give us a break...
Worst though is the puerile/prurient US morality where it is ok to judge your friend for selling Ecstasy to rich people at parties but you witness a murder and do nothing and then even attend the funeral and chat to the deceased daughter, all the while making loads of money working for the guy whose sidekick pulled the trigger...
Jesus wept, a clunky Mills and Boone quality script... I prey it dies a death.

WHY OH WHY OH WHY WHY OH WHY OH WHY WHY OH WHY OH WHY
The original Japanese one is amazing, I can't bear the idea of
the Korean saccharine take on this story, this Is so unnecessary and bordering on criminal.
I discovered the original 2 films several years ago and they had a profound and haunting effect on me, it was almost impossible to find any info because they were so unknown and now if I do a search the remake comes up first.
Tragic.
A beige copy with the usual bland K- Pop looking characters, Jesus wept.
WATCH THE ORGINAL People!
Minamata (2020)
A mumble jumble load of crap
7.9????
This film did not do justice to the story at all, it seemed to skip all over the place and the cliches of a drunken cynical artist were annoying, also let's be honest JD seems to have given up on actually acting, preferring to mumble his way through everything these days, it's like he has been over-medicated.
The Mosquito Coast (2021)
This could be something special
Decided to give it a try, vaguely remembering there was a film that was not so memorable...
This is way more deep and very current, some great quotes for what's going on and wrong in the world today, also it has Paul Theroux who was in The leftovers, another show I had no expectations of but ended up loving (one of the best endings of any series I have seen).
So, so far it's looking good, lets see how it goes...
