Arrested Development (2003)
This Show is Pure Genius
Arrested Development has to be the greatest show ever to be put on television. It is just simply amazing. The acting is perfect, and the show is just plain hilarious. Subtle humor and sarcasm are some of my favorite things for a show to have and Arrested Development has plenty. With the Will Arnett's comic genius and Jason Bateman's intelligent sarcasm, this show could appeal to anyone. Anyone who hasn't seen this show would be doing themselves an injustice not to watch this. Pick up the seasons you missed on DVD and catch up because it'll be well worth it. I'm so happy that this is continuing on to a third season because this is without a doubt my favorite show of all time. If you like this, and I don't understand how you couldn't, you should definitely check out Sports Night, another fantastic, but unfortunately overlooked show.
Juwanna Mann (2002)
Are You Kidding?
I can't believe I spent some money on this movie. As stupid as it sounds to actually spend money on this movie, I was forced to do so by a friend. This person is no longer my friend. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. There is nothing in this movie that is ever funny, the plot is insanely stupid and isn't thought out at all. It is so predictable and it is just no fun at all, plain and simple. Just look at it. It's about a man who is can't play basketball in the NBA so he plays in the WNBA. I mean, seriously, what the hell. If you really want to see a man dress as a woman, go watch Tootsie. I would have walked out of the theater, but I promise myself to watch every movie and give it a chance until the end. Please, if you ever consider watching this movie, just don't. You'll hate yourself for wasting your time like that. You would probably have more fun trying to kick yourself in the face. And you'll probably try that after seeing this giant piece of garbage. Stay away from this movie at all costs. A movie couldn't suck any harder than this. I couldn't possibly recommend this movie any less.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Absolutely Superb
Star Wars is one of the greatest stories of our time. In my opinion, the Star Wars franchise is the greatest one in the history of movies. The Original movie was to me, as many other people, a big part of my life. Empire Strikes Back could not have been a better sequel, and Return of the Jedi, despite the Ewoks, was also amazing. I, like most people, was disappointed with Episode I. That's not to say that I didn't like it, but it was simply just not up to par with the other Star Wars movies. Simply put, it was made for kids, and the people that loved the originals are no longer kids. It did, however, bring the lightsaber duels to the new age, and the battle between Obi-wan and Darth Maul was not in any bit disappointing. However, a few minutes of greatness does not make up for the disappointment of the rest of the movie. Episode II, in my opinion, was a fantastic film. It was everything I was hoping for and more. It finally brought about the change of Yoda to CGI, which I believe was done beautifully and was a good decision. Now that the past is done with, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, is simply one of the most brilliant things ever to be put on film. The story, of course, could not be any better because it is Star Wars. The action is stunning and beautifully done and the lightsaber fights are so well put together, it is unbelievable. Although the acting has been somewhat of a disappointment in the other prequels, I think amazing performances are given by all, except for Natalie Portman, who wasn't terrible, but she wasn't great either. Her performance, however, does not at all affect the greatness of this movie. It has to be one of my favorite movies ever, and I simply don't understand how a movie-goer could be at all disappointed. Just unbelievable. Revenge of the Sith has my highest possible recommendation.
Sin City (2005)
Pure Style and Entertainment
Sin City is one of the best movies you can see. This movie is full of style and is just great. Violence is not in short supply, but is done in a way where it's just perfect, for me at least. The characters are great, and you'll probably find yourself really caring about their fate. After watching for a while, you'll get sucked into this world and forget you are watching a movie. There's a large cast of names you know and each one of them seems as though they were born to play their character. Sin City was amazing in every way. The look of it was amazing, the music worked perfectly, the acting was great, and the direction and story telling where second to none. Unless you are really afraid of violence, I don't see who wouldn't like this movie. If you have not yet seen this movie, you are doing a great injustice to yourself. This is easily the best movie so far this year. Highly Recommended. 10/10
Die Hard (1988)
The best action movie ever.
Die Hard, one of my favorite movies, is like I said, the best action movie ever. It is also up there with Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, The Shawshank Redemption, and Office Space as one of my favorite movies ever.
Bruce Willis does such a good job, I couldn't imagine anyone else as John McClane even though Richard Gere and Arnold Schwarzenegger turned down the role in order for Willis to get it. And Thank God for that. It wouldn't have been such a great movie with anyone else. Bruce Willis is one of my favorite actors because of the great job he did in this, Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable and the Sixth Sense.
Also, one of the greatest things about Die Hard is that you can watch it any time. You don't have to be in the mood to watch it like with pretty much any other movie. Another thing is that John McClane (Willis) is a normal guy and you find him saying exactly what your thinking. He isn't any kind of super muscular weight lifter who is the greatest shot and never missed. He's a NY cop and he plays the role like he is a New Yorker.
This is my favorite movie and I give it **** out of ****.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Worth Your Time And Money
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Jones. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is simply a classic movie. Ferris Bueller, played by Matthew Broderick, is a cool guy, who many people wish they could be. He is friends with everyone and it seems as though nobody dislikes him at all, except for maybe his sister at times. He is always relaxed, clever, and funny, and he is able to use his traits to manipulate those around him. This movie shows the adventure that Ferris, his best friend Cameron Frye, Alan Ruck, and his girlfriend Sloane Peterson, Mia Sara, have in Chicage driving a classic Ferrari while attempting not be caught by their parents or Principal Ed Rooney, Jeffrey Jones. This movie is funny and smart, and is one of the few greats that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Highly Recommended.
