Penny Dreadful (2014)
Stunning visually, great cast and intriguing plot
I've watched this series twice and I'm sure I'll watch it many times into the future. It was quite addictive. Wonderful actors, Eva Green is sublime in what is a very challenging role and Josh Hartnett was perfect for the role of her rock, Ethan.
The supporting cast were all excellent in their roles. Costumes and sets were 10/10.
I would have given this series a 10 except that the ending didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was a long journey for Vanessa to travel to give up so easily and become quite a weak character in the end. Perhaps a future with Ethan and the realisation of their family (as per Vanessa's dream) would have been a more satisfying reward for the strength she had displayed in her tormented young life.
The Aftermath (2019)
Visually beautiful. Boring ending.
Love the actors and the look of this film, however, both the book and the film have boring, nothing really happens, endings. No twist, very predictable. What a shame, it had so much potential.
Christopher Robin (2018)
Very touching.
Such a moving film with a big message to time poor parents. Made me tear up several times. Visually beautiful. I loved it as much as the kids.
