Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Holy. Cow.
As someone whom has thoroughly enjoyed this show, and have watched the 3 previous seasons multiple times, this episode was absolutely insane. Everything in it was smartly written and effectively directed. And can we talk about the acting? Hands down some of the best talent on screen that we get to bear witness to. Man, this show is a must watch, and BTW, don't worry about the run time, it doesn't feel like it's "movie length" at all.
Stop what you're doing and watch now. You'll truly be grateful you did.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Well..
I'll say this, it wasn't as terrible as what seems like most people who've left reviews would have you believe. As a fan of the original trilogy, I will say that there were some elements here that didn't call for this 4th film. I mean, yes, the special effects were crazy good (there's one set piece in particular that had me glued to the screen), but I found it confusing to follow the plot. I guess popcorn flicks don't necessarily need one in this day and age. I did like the nostalgia factor and I found myself entertained just enough to make it to the end.
Good for a one-time watch at the very least.
Grand Crew (2021)
Omg..
I literally bumped into this show by accident, as I mean, who even watches tv anymore? Seriously I can't remember a time where I laughed more. Just really good writing and from even 2 episodes in, really good chemistry. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Keep it up!!
Halloween Kills (2021)
Meh..
Some decent kills, but definitely a different tone than the 2018 version. After waiting awhile for this sequel, doesn't necessarily feel like it was worth the wait.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Just average.
I mean, with the onslaught of Zombie movies that have taken over in the past few years, could we really expect this one to just stand out? It's not overly terrible, mediocre at best is the best way to describe it. Sure there are some interesting moments, but cliches and tropes take over rather quickly. There's quite a bit that doesn't make sense here, but for popcorn entertainment, it's ok for a one time watch at the very least. Could have, check that, should have, been better.
9-1-1: Blindsided (2021)
Wow..
Hands down, one of the best episodes this show has created. Just the raw-ness and emotionally challenging moments were... so...
Wow.
Boss Level (2020)
Pure. Awesome. Entertainment.
Just watched this and man, if you're looking for a popcorn flick that's full of action and wit, this, is for you. Literally felt like I was transported to the 80's and was playing Kung Fu. (Man, how I hated Mr. X) Frank Grillo is an underrated action star, but this role is suited for him. Settle in and give this one a go, I assure you, you will NOT be disappointed.
Grey's Anatomy: How to Save a Life (2015)
Oh man..
As I sit here having just watched this episode, I have to be honest, after reading the previous reviews and seeing it's score, I didn't know what to expect. No, it wasn't perfect, and yes there were inconsistencies, but it doesn't detract from the impact this episode had. I am currently watching every episode (for the first time) and I have to be honest, this one hurt. It's very difficult to watch all of our "Day Ones" leave us that's for sure.
I'm really not sure where we go from here...
Grey's Anatomy: Song Beneath the Song (2011)
Uhm, what in the world?
I am currently watching every episode and I'm up to this one, and honestly, I'm scratching my head. I'm all for trying something new, but geez, Callie deserves better than this. I'm just saying. I love this show so far, but come on, this, was totally unnecessary.
