Gojira-Minira-Gabara: Oru kaijû daishingeki (1969)
Oh God, Jenova, you are HORRIBLY wrong.
Many call this THE worst Godzilla movie EVER. I can only see one reason why you hate this movie, Jenova. YOU HATE CHILDREN! This movie was made strictly for little kids and Godzilla fans. You are obviously not a Godzilla fan. Me, on the other hand? I'm 13. And I love this movie. I believe this movie only had so much stock footage because Toho was running out of money and this kid, Ichiro, has these battles memorized. This movie is very enjoyable and it's great for anyone except for Non-Godzilla fans(I know who you are). Yes, this movie is short and cheesy, but that only adds fun to it. There, I'm done. Oh, and one more thing. Jenova, take spelling class again.
Gojira tai Megaro (1973)
This movie was made for fun.
Monsters, car chases, Seatopians, oh my! This is Godzilla Vs. Megalon, and this movie is real fun. Jun Fukuda(Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster, Godzilla Vs. Gigan)directed this one and he does a great job. Riichiro Manabe(Godzilla Vs. Hedorah)'s score is very dated yet that only adds fun to this one. The actors do an OK job, yet the script they follow is very corny. The suits all look original, except for Gigan's, his looks stupid compared to the miraculous one used in Godzilla Vs. Gigan. The buzzsaw on his chest is immobile! Jet Jaguar is great and he really adds flavor to this film. Godzilla's suit has been VERY toned down from the one used in the previous 2 Godzilla movies and it looks very childish. Megalon's suit is incredible and elements of it would be recycled into King Seesar's suit in Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla. Anguirus makes a brief cameo at the beginning and his costume's fangs have been removed. Rodan appears as well at the beginning, but only as stock footage from Destroy All Monsters. There is a TON of stock fotage used from previous Toho Science Fiction movies, espically from Godzilla Vs. Gigan and Destroy All Monsters. This movie was filmed in one week and it shows for the film seems very rushed. The movie altogether was done in a month, and was only released 6 months after Godzilla Vs. Gigan. All in all, this is a very watchable movie. Many fans call it the worst Godzilla movie ever made and I can see why. But they're just people who agree with fairweather fans. Me? I love it. Gojira tai Mekagojira (1974)
A great 70's Godzilla movie.
Godzilla's back in his 14th adventure, Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla!!!! This is a great G-Flick full of action, adventure, and aliens(what else is new?)!! Jun Fukuda directed this and honestly, it is a good job. The music is upbeat and fits with the tone. The monsters look great(except for King Seesar) and have neat moves. The human substory is OK for a Godzilla movie, yet at the climax, the human substory really shines. If you are a fairweather Godzilla fan, you might want to expect more, but if you're a big Godzilla fan, you will love this movie. The SPFX are good, the acting is good, the music is great and the movie shines in every other area. It's a worthwhile viewing experience. Advertisement: Godzilla! Anguirus! And more! All in Godzilla's brand new adventure! GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, Godzilla now has a mechanical clone! See! Aliens invade Earth! See! King Seesar awaken to battle the mechanical monster! See! GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA!!!!!!!!!
Chikyû kogeki meirei Gojira tai Gaigan (1972)
The best of the best!
This is Godzilla's greatest movie. EVER! The action is tense, the monsters are cool, the human substory works, I LOVE IT! Okay, Okay, I'm calming down now, deep breath(inhale)(exhale). Okay, did I already say this is a great movie? If you are a fairweather fan(or even a hardcore Godzilla fan) you will HATE it. But me? I watch it every time I can. Akira Ifukube's score may be entirely stock music, but it works. The movie may have a heckuva lot of stock footage, but it works. The monsters may look silly, but they work. Godzilla's costume may be worn out from Godzilla Vs. Hedorah, but it looks cool. Anguirus has never looked better, even though he's manhandled a LOT in the movie. Gigan's costume looks entirely original and I still wonder how Ken Satsuma managed to survive in that thing. King Ghidorah does look very worn, but it still look dangerous. Jun Fukuda directed this one and he did a great job. I have no complaints about this movie. Godzilla Vs. Gigan is a very worthwhile experience. Advertisement: Godzilla's back! So is Angilas! And King Ghidorah! But who is this new threat from outer space? It's the cyborg GIGAN. Now in a special tag team duel, GODZILLA VS. GIGAN!!!!!!!! See it now!!!!!!!!!!
Gojira vs. Mekagojira (1993)
Godzilla's best Heisei movie PERIOD.
This is one of Godzilla's greatest movies EVER. This was supposed to be Godzilla's final movie and it would have been a heckuva finish to this series. Akira Ifukube's music is incredible and some of the best in his career. The SPFX are great and are some of Koichi Kawakita's best. the plot is great and is one of the best of the series. Notice how I'm using the word "best" a lot? Mechagodzilla, Rodan, Godzilla, and Baby Godzilla all look great and they look realistic as possible. This is by far Godzilla's BEST Heisei movie ever and is one of my personal favs. I love this movie and I give it a perfect 10 stars. if there is one other great Godzilla movie, it's Godzilla Vs. Gigan. Fans who love Godzilla will LOVE Godzilla VS. Mechagodzilla.
Gojira X Mekagojira (2002)
Masaaki Tezuka has improved himself!
Godzila X Mechagodzilla is COOL! I didn't like Godzilla X Megaguirus a lot, but I believe Masaaki Tezuka has improved his G-Flicks in every way. The story is much better and the characters have more depth. mechagodzilla and Godzilla look a lot cooler than before. There's a lot more of a rivalry between the monsters than in GXM. Sometimes the CGI effects look absolutely fake but they have their moments(Godzilla opening his eye and such). Michiru Oshima's score is great, and she uses more themes than in GXM. I have seen the movie in Japanese and English and both jobs are well done. This actually makes me look forward to Masaaki Tezuka's other Godzilla movie to come to America, Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
Gojira tai Megagirasu: Jî shômetsu sakusen (2000)
Eh, could've been better.
Godzilla X Megaguirus: G-Eradication Operation was Masaaki Tezuka's directorial debut, and honestly, it could've been better. The monster battle at the end between Godzilla and Megaguirus is cool, but way too short. It's only about eight minutes! This movie is 90-ish minutes long, Masaaki! Godzilla does look cool and is one of the selling points in this movie(Toho used the same suit from Godzilla 2000). Megaguirus is cool and is a great villian. The characters are pretty thin and the movie could've relaxed a little and add more plot. Although not a perfect Godzilla movie, it's still very watchable. But if you liked this movie, you'll love Godzilla X Mechagodzilla(like I did!).Godzilla X Megaguirus is a pretty good movie, overall.
