Forbidden Zone (1980)
Gorgeous Low Budget
This movie was my introduction to Danny Elfman, which began my life long love of his work, along with Tim Burton's work. I really do recommend it heartily, though I do warn of the oddly pseudo-racist/sexist undertones throughout. It's hard to describe them without spoiling anything, but I have a tendency to give them slack since I think they were just referencing old movies and not trying to be explicitly racist. It's unusual to watch a more modern movie with black face in it though, so it's still weird to watch.
Anyway, the entire cast of characters are unique and beautiful to watch, and Squeezit is really just a treat throughout the movie.
I love this flick, but don't expect your friends to understand what you see in it if you find that you love it too. It's not for all palettes.
PS: The last scene rocks!

Creature from the Haunted Sea (1961)
Amusing in the style of Ed Wood, Preferably watched while not sober.
There is a lot to say about this movie. About it's bizarre Cuban characters, its weird politics, the characters, the plot, the strange love quadrangle that fell apart at the seams... Over all, I'd say that this is one of those movies that could easily be a good night in with some beers and friends. Especially if you are into wacky music that has little to do with the action, badly costumed actors attacking other actors whilst dressed as 'The Worst Sea-Monster Halloween Costume ever', and odd scenes that are never explained involving why there is a telephone on the rocky side of an apparently 'deserted' island that has a line to use it. I really mean it when I say don't watch it sober though, it's a bit too boring for sobriety. You could watch it in the middle of the day with your mom, as I did, and it will still be funny, however, I have this nagging feeling that it would've been far more entertaining at 2 in the morning on a Friday or Saturday night. Not much else to say, I recommend it mostly for comedic value. -Rose
Lisa e il diavolo (1973)
Lisa wanders around in a beautiful city, gets lost, and then ends up in a twilight-zone-murder-mystery-which-may-or-may-not-include-the-devil.
This movie was bizarre, completely inexplicable, and hysterical to watch with friends while drinking in a big empty house. I really love the opening stuff with Lisa wandering about lost in a gorgeous city. I want to be a beautiful stranger lost in some exotic European locale, though maybe not in a low budget horror flick. Definitely get the ending where there are the strangely non-sexual sex scenes that were cut out (in my DVD copy anyway). Don't attempt to understand it, just go along and watch out for the weird bits...which is everything. Don't watch this if you actually want plot or characterization or anything at all to make sense. Pretty beautiful, though you may just give up on this and decide to watch an actual horror movie, like say, Dead Alive.
