Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child (2016)
Bad "Monsters"
This movie would have been a great movie if it weren't for the worst monsters ever. The monsters were human test subjects that looked like the turned into super snapping turtles. The back and forth chapters were interesting because it gave you more knowledge into Sy's story, and it showed why he was there on Osiris.
The main reason this movie gets a 5 instead of an 8 or 9 is because of the "plot twist" at the end. Sy gets attacked by the monster and starts to transform into one, but he ask Indi to give him something sharp to kill himself. She doesn't do it, and it cuts to another backstory in Sy's life. This was my favorite part because it showed why he was in prison, and that he was good loving man who lost his family but made a very wrong decision. Then the bad part happens. After the planet had been wiped clean, two explorers search the planet to find indi and creature that turns out to be Sy... really? Sy turned into one of the crazy monster soccer who had been killing people the entire movie? But instead of being crazy, he is guard dog for Indi... should've let him die or survive. One or the other.
I still hate how terrible the monsters were. Made the movie so much less interesting.
Castle: Under Fire (2014)
Ryan and Esposito
This episode shows us how much Ryan and Esposito mean to this show. They are by far one of the greatest partner duos in much of cop television series. This show would not be the same without them. They honestly compliment Castle and Beckett better than you could imagine.
This show just keeps getting better! I am truly amazed at how well each individual episode plays out. I know that in the end Beckett, Castle, Ryan or Esposito will probably never die, and that there will always be a way to save them from whatever harm is in there way, but everything else is almost always unexpected. This show just keeps me on edge, and I love that! Can't wait for each and every episode that is to come in the future!
Here's something I didn't see coming, a daughter?!?!?!? Totally thought we were gonna have a Javier Ryan come on to the show. Oh well! Maybe in the future!!!!
End of Watch (2012)
Great Overall Movie
I was a little skeptical about watching this movie at first. I heard it was shot from the view of hand-held cameras. The reason this made me skeptical was because Chronicle was also shot through the view of hand-held cameras. Now don't get me wrong, Chronicle was a good movie, but the way it was shot was not appealing to the eye.
After watching the movie, I must say that it turned out to be a lot better filmed then I had expected. My heart was pounding through most of the scenes. It was a great rush. Towards the end I was trying to predict the end(as most people do in all films), and I was stunned by what had happened. You would assume that both cops would survive, but you were left stunned when both had been shot with Mike(Pena) laying on top of Brian(Gyllenhaal). Then comes the funeral, and you are once again stunned to find out that Brian ha survived. It doesn't seem unreal because he was only shot once, while Mike was shot many times. At the funeral you are left heart-broken for Brian, and also Mike's wife.
The movie ends in the greatest way this movie could have possibly ended. With a flashback to the day of the shooting. It leaves you laughing, and overall with a smile. You can only imagine that Brian would take care of Mike's wife and child as he had promised Brian that he would.
Overall I really enjoyed this movie. By far one of the best movies I have seen in a while.
