Uzumaki (2000)
Spirals everywhere
This movie was strange i couldn't really get the hang of it i don't really like thins type of movie the plot pretty much has a town going crazy from spirals and turning into mutant slugs and stuff very weird movie some pretty good gore scenes even though there not very realistic the acting was not good at all the main character girl was so wooden and her boyfriend was not much better the ending was pretty cool and the music was different but it was a confusing movie and i really don't recommend it to horror fans its a big disappointment OK for a low budget and it was creepy sometime but it was really slow and to weird for my liking.
The Car (1977)
Movie was OK!
okay so the plot about a demonic car is rather goofy but the acting was good and the car was really cool. I like the fact that we never saw the driver of the car it made it suspenseful and mysterious.
I just ordered this on VHS from amazon.com the other day i haven't seen it in years I'd really like to see it again i saw it on TV when i was 11 0r 12 and it scared me quite a bit. A few days ago I saw the movie and thats when I decided to order the movie.
The car is a really good movie and i recommend it to people who like suspenseful and mysterious movies. It is at sometimes boring but you should try to watch the whole thing. I would give it ** out of ****.
Ice Cream Man (1995)
Over all I liked it!
After all the gore and ice cream it was pretty good. the acting was great and I thought the special effects were really neat. I wish that Ice Cream man had been given a theatrical release but since it was really gory and didn't take itself too seriously I'm not surprised it didn't. Some of the writing may have been passable and it may scare young children and dog lovers but it's still great fun and very enjoyable as a no-brainer flick. Fans of gore and grotesque special effects will love this film as it's packed to the prime with the red stuff and it's got Clint Howard, is one the best actors EVER!!!!!! (I swear, this guy is hilarious!) -F&H
The Breakfast Club (1985)
A very funny movie indeed!!!!
This has to be one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I was surprised to find out no one that I knew heard of it. It starts out when 5 students get a Saturday detention. There's Brian a nerd, Allison a freak, John the criminal, Andy the jock, and Claire the princess. They start out by hating and annoying each other to becoming the best of fiends. What makes this story great is they have totally different backrounds and totally different personalities it is amazing how they go from hating each other and having nothing in common to liking each other and having everything in common. This is a very good film for a lot of adults I would not recommend this to children under 12 because of some language used. I give this movie*** out of *****
The Rock (1996)
A very good film!!!!
The Rock was one of the best movies I have ever seen. Sean Connery is one of my favorite actors along with Nicolas cage and Ed Harris. I was however disappointed at how many goofs there was but it was still one of the best movies I have ever seen.It all starts on Alcatrz island with Frank Hummel as a general keeping 81 visitors locked up and demanding 100 million dollars for ransom as coverage to families of soldiers that died in covert operations. If frank does not get his money he threatens to fire rockets armed with VX nerve gas into the heart of San Francisco. Stanley Godspeeds (Nicolas cage) and Mason (Sean Connery) try to find these rockets and try to stop this madness. I give this movie ***** out of *****.
Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor (1990)
Surprisingly good!
After a misshalf in a laboratory, a engineer is bitten by a mutant amphibian creature and slowly mutates into a giant lizard monster and proceeds to devour fellow lab workers in a high-tech laboratory facility. Despite hammy acting, and some inane dialogue and logic laps, "Metamorphosis: The Alien Facotr" comes across as a solid, adequate thriller sporting some solid scares and tention with some unique special effects.
The production values and sets are elaborate and convincing, not the usual water-dripping and darkly-light alien-rip-off sets we see in these types of b-rate films. In addition to nice production values, the Takakjian director builds tention and some solid scares time to time. This film also breaks many rules of b-movies. Characters you expect to live die gory deaths, vice versa, and the ending ain't what you'd expect.
But quite possible the best element in this film are the special effects. The creatures look unique, and the amount of detail put into the monsters are astounding--The creatures can blink, they can breathe realisticly, muscles contract when they move, etc. and the F/X alone make this film worth watching. The special effects are just amazing, plain and simple.
