Infliction (2014)
Like a soap opera made my YouTubers
This is bad. Really bad. What started off as an interesting idea turned into way too much dialogue performed by terrible actors. A tell-tale sign that the writers and director are doing a poor job is the way the story is told. Instead of being told by a well thought out script, it's characters sitting together telling the viewers the story like they're reading us a book. Avoid this.
You: The Captain (2018)
RomCom
This episode went full Hallmark. If I had walked into a room where someone was watching this, I would swear it was a cheesy girl-meets-guy-drops-guy-then-shows-up-at-door-horny flick from the 90s. It even has the "She's All That" style of music. Please get better from here.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
3500 people at the premiere but over 19000 reviews. Screw every one of you.
You all should be ashamed of even existing. You're a bunch of coat hanger dodgers.
Eli (2019)
It's not particularly scary or disturbing. It's just a really good movie with an ending I never saw coming.
There's nothing about this film that's all that frightening or disturbing. There are plenty of themes here which have been done before, but they are all blending and mixed together to make a pretty unique experience, culminating in an ending I did not anticipate. If you're an adult looking to be scared, don't bother. If you're just looking for a good movie, I recommend it.
Black Summer (2019)
Adds a much needed dose of horror back into the zombie genre.
I was attracted to this almost immediately as this show presents a breath of fresh air in the form of horror. The zombies feel much more scary and present a much bigger threat, even when there's only one of them. The cinematography is fantastic with the feeling of being filmed with a phone or handheld camera. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
