Gaza Strip (2002)
A must see documentary; from production to it's content, Gaza Strip is not short of excellent.
I feel sad to see some of the comments posted about this movie, it really is not filled with "lies" and "half-truths" simply because the documentary is not aiming to give the viewer a political analysis of the Palestinian & Israeli conflict, rather it is giving a grassroots view of the reality of the lives of the children living on the Gaza Strip.
You will watch and hear the views and opinions shaped by these children because of the oppresive and tyrannical way Israel has imposed itself on the lives of the people of Palestinian. The documentary does an excellent job in getting the truth out, as these children see it.
The quality of the production is very impressive and the documentary has been superbly directed.
Apart from the content presented to the viewer, I enjoyed the documentary especially because of the style it has been filmed, directed and presented.
By influence of your political stance on the Palestine-Israel conflict, you may find yourself appreciating just the style rather than the content of the documentary. I, after having watched the documentary a number of times, find myself enjoying everything about it.
My rating: 10/10
That '70s Show (1998)
There's something about this show...
There's something about this show that makes me completely addicted to it. I have no fascination with the 1970's or any of the culture associated with that time... but watching That '70s Show doesn't need that.
I can sometimes queue in all the episodes from each series chronologically and watch them ALL, from series 1 to the current episode in series 6... and the time flies. I lay on my bed with my neck bent towards the screen laughing, smiling and remaining in a constant state of amusement.
I think this is the only show I have ever seen that successfully gives me the feeling of escapism! Escapism sucks though, because you will come back to reality feeling worse than you did before you allowed yourself to drift in to the make belief world. Well for me anyway.
I love this show... and was saddened to see series 6 announced as the final series for the show!
I rate it: 9/10
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Masterful story-telling... but it's all about the dialogue!
My love and appreciation of this film comes primarily from the razor-sharp quality of the script and the masterful, genius, unique style of story-telling used in this movie. This is my all time favourite movie and I love all of the scenes, in particular the ending scene, in which Samuel L Jackson does a great piece!
My rating is: 10/10
