Rap Sh!t (2022)
My friends told me this show was amazing? HUH
This show is so bad. My opinion has nothing to do with horrible music (because the lyrics are trash) or the constant and annoying infusion of social media into their daily lives. No, I get that the show illustrates this intentionally because rap music today is awful and the social media references reflect the world we live. If the direction is to mock the current state of hip hop and the need for social media attention; well then they got that right. But overall the writing and the script is so bad. And when try to infuse comedic lines into the movie, they are corny and you get a sense that they are trying to hard. It just does not work. Two of my friends begged me to watch and it is a waste of time.
M3GAN (2022)
Horrible Script Writers
The biggest issue was the juvenile or immature script. This means that the writers lack the ability and foresight to write nothing more than maybe remind feds on how to throw out trash. They had to change Katie into a maniac for the story and they failed at it. They pushed it and it did not work. It also made no sense why M3gan decides to older the neighbor. When telling a story, you can put any type of twist or build up in it to hit the peak and then resolve it, but you have to have writers who know how to do so. This movie has potential being that we love Chucky style movies but you got to have competent writing and organizing.
Prank Encounters (2019)
Scare Tactics 3.0
I loved the show scare tactics! With Shannon Doherty and then the reboot with Tracy Morgan. I thought this show, prank encounters was new but I see it started in 2019. I like it! I enjoy watching scary pranks but so far it is not as well designed as scare tactics. Enjoy that it has all the actors from the Morgan reboot and one guy that participated in both scare tactics but it is not as funny but good enough.
The Bubble (2022)
Hilarious
Perfect!! Love seeing actors appear vulnerable even though they played characters,,, characters that were, once again, vulnerable to many issues that are associated with average Joes. People who do not like it are simply caught in the matrix world where they are told what to think... so not for the dependent minded sheep mentality that survives on tribal mentalities and curses gaming people because of jealousy.
Bumblebee (2018)
Two thumbs down
Horrible, corny, terrible script, and a juvenile story line with limited imagination. Just a bad movie made for profits. But as America becomes dumber from social media and technology, many think movies like these are the greatest things they have ever scene.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: 2020: A Year In Review (2021)
Brilliant
Amazing how the gang is capable of utilizing comedy to illustrate the ridiculousness of partisan political worship. Even though the gang are far right wing extremists, both sides can take a lesson from this episode. Illustrating fictitious causes of the Capitol Riots and Pennsylvania's inability to count all votes in a timely fashion, and Giuliani's hair dye, the gang helps a all realize just how mental this country has been; especially during the recent Presidential Election.
A Different World: I've Got the Muse in Me (1989)
Freddie is incredible
I am watching part of this episode. What an era but I had to review and give a 10 because Summer Cree, playing a drunk Freddie just jumped off a ladder and put her trust in Kadeem Hardison. Impressive.
Black Summer (2019)
It could be a classic hit
Season 1 overall was a little silly. Great story but at times the script is juvenile. Also some characters are unrealistically dumb as far as their ability to assess situations. I do enjoy the REVENANT style camera approach, but it makes no sense that some zombies can take millions of billets and some only one. Also episode #6 of season 1 makes no sense. Figured they would explain but they have not, at least up to episode 4 of season 2. At times you have no idea what characters are doing or why they are doing it. One interesting note is that usually as a viewer you feel for the main character but in this series. You actually learn to dislike Rose really quickly. But overall season 2, as of episode #4 is an improvement over season 1.
Midway (2019)
Need better actors
You can't keep hiring singers because it is trendy. The acting was terrible. Scenes where guys are in the middle of shells being shot at them and exploding and they are calm as if they are surrounded by a green screen which they are. Terrible acting and a very forgettable film for the WWII GENRE. But the special effects are amazing but bum acting. Terrible
Harriet (2019)
Subpar director skills
The story of Harriet Tubman deserves a more skilled and gifted director and script. Her focus on GOD and his presence being the key to Tubman's success is epic, but those involved in the creation of this movie should not even piece together a cheap under budgeted movie on Sci-Fi. I could have done a far better job with a large budget. The set, costume designer, and most of the actors were incredible. But you never felt any fear or apprehension like when you watched 12 Years of Slave or even D'jango Unchained. Oh and some of the acting from supporting cast was below average.
Ad Astra (2019)
Strangest circumstances
This was the strangest movie I bet to be made in my opinion. I still cannot accept that this script would have been made into a movie if an average citizen wrote it. So the only reason this script was written because someone in Hollywood wrote it. Can't believe a large budget went to such a silly script. It was cool seeing Brad Pitt in such a role where he was so passive and blamed himself for his personal failures. I actually found his character inspiring, but the script should not have made it beyond maybe a sci-fi channel low budgeted film.
Fury (2014)
A Lost Rambo Scene
I can't believe I actually gave this film an "8". I remember being in awe of it because I made it a point to see this film in the movie theater because the World Wars have always fascinated me. The acting was superb. Great actors accept one being over the top. But Shia LeBeouf was amazing. Did not expect to ever play such a mature role with such authenticity. Michael Pena made think of that actual unsung sacrifice that men in war make when he says, "best job in the world." Jon Bernthal, what more can we say about this talented bad ass. But Brad Pitt was so over the top that he makes me feel that I am watching an actor trying to be all that and it fails. Just not believable at all anymore. Now I see why people said they were not pleased with him being the hero in "12 Years of Slave." He seems like that actor that desperately needs to do his roles in real life but we know he never could do he over projects and over acts. This movie starts out phenomenal but then the scene with the women, so dumb. They meet these women and have them cook, Norman gets a girlfriend and then she is killed. A perfect strike from the SS because the SS is that good. The next war scene is good when the 4 US tanks go up against the 1 German tank. It was an even better scene because of the commander of the last US tank to be destroyed by that German tank before the main characters take that German tank down. I don't know his name but that US tank commander, you could feel the real ness, the fear in his acting. The movie completely bombs at th I end with the Rambo scene where the hero crew takes out about 100 SS with a busted and stranded tank. This is the SS which I said earlier are supposed to be good but all of a sudden they turned into amateurs and shooting ducks for a busted tank. Not to mention the hero crew runs out of ammunition because they left it all outside the tank. Just overall, what a dumb movie because brad Pitt's character acts in the ways and gives orders that no real US military crew would ever follow. Taken on the advanced German tank when it had the element of surprise, and of course taking on 300 SS with a broken tank. This is where Hollywood allows the worse writers and directors and actors that have egos to destroy what could be good art. They don't care about authenticity but about capturing the attention of dumbos.
Unacknowledged (2017)
Scariest documentary ever!!
I always knew there was a deep state that not even the President or Congress are allowed to question. These dark programs bring nothing but death and hate in order to gain more and more control over the globe. I also am able to conceive of the fact that the US leaders are forced to bow down to the desires of the deep state such as staging attacks on US soil and then blaming for it on brown people so we can go to war for profit. Hey, the devil is in control and the average American is to undereducated and incapable of independent thought to see the truth. Just keep them dumb and further segment is gem into tribes via social media and the controlled media. Today the average American worships partisan politics and as a result probably are to stupid to save. This documentary points to how the rich and powerful have held us all hostage in order to gain more resources. Utilizing nationalism and implementing hatred in the minds of America's largest demographic, uneducated whites, the deep stare has excelled at preventing us from reaching our potential. This is a great truth serum especially after you see that they will kill a President to protect their main asset, POWER.
Crawl (2019)
Horrible
I Love movies with killer animals like Jaws or lake placid and the stormy environment with howling wind but it turned out to be another waste of 90 minutes of life. All I will say is how come the alligators are quick, vicious, and deadly when they attacked all the supporting actors but whenever they attacked the two main characters they were slow, timid, and far from harmful. Just dumb how the odds always change for the stars.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Had potential
The drama in this movie is more proof that every walk of society is being overrun by morons. The writing and directing seems like it was done over night especially the script. The director and writer were not capable of manufacturing drama which is what they did. When Akita has to decide Hugo's fate it was so rushed and the drama was not believable because there was no real drama. So just like anyone can be a rapper today or a social media narcissist, they can also write and direct and ruin films with potential. Started out as a fun ride but a horrible script and a lack of development makes this movie very forgettable. I give it a 5 only because the effects are cool!!
The Boys (2019)
Great potential!!
What a great story! Wish I wrote this. The evils of capitalism where corporations have a grasp on the controlling arm of government. This rings true of course because we all know, at least those of us with a brain realize that it is the United Corporations of America. So what a brilliant story where superhero's can use their gifts to generate massive profits through marketing and action. Protecting the streets all the way to handling global conflicts. And sitting back is the Vought Corporation which leases the good guys in the name GOD. This series is another show of movie that is anti American as far as exposing how capitalism, greed, and profits decides our lives. Like politicians today in real life, the supes can commit atrocities but as long as they wave an American flag and invoke GOD's name, the public is okay with it. That is why I love this show because it is a new sad reminder of how a so called democracy could be filled with a majority of the dumbest public to ever exist on this Earth. Got to love it.
Watchmen (2019)
Amazing, best drama ever????
I first wrote a review after watching half of the episode. After watching it all I bumped my rating up to a full 10. I see a lot of snowflakes that are upset because they don't like to be reminded of history. They are upset because the show mirrors a dark truth about our society that has came back in a full circle. However, if you have an open mind and you understand the Watchmen comics then you can see how this script and story falls within the realm of the great story. I get a sense that the snowflakes will keep watching and become amazed at how historically correct this show will end up; because many of us believe that the rich and powerful are behind everything horrible in our society. They keep us hating each other in order to maintain control and you can see that from the anger that the snowflakes have left in their reviews. Just might become the best show ever.
Aquaman (2018)
DC's curse of horrific directors
Clearly DC has no chance because either the executives of the movie companies or the chosen directors have no clue how to follow the comics. I don't know who is to blame but Aqua Man starts out like a rushed product by those who got into the movie producing business by their parents. Because clearly the DC movies including this crap could not have been orchestrated by people with merits. The opening scenes in the submarine just sunk this movie from the get go. A mercenary that vows revenge on the main character because his father traps himself. They try to start a plot and it fails from the start. Then the eventual war within the fish ranks. Oh and the acting is horrible but not as bad as the corny lines. Just a simple movie for simple minded people.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life (2008)
Charlie's gag refex
Another great episode. Loved the cameos from sinbad and rob. Sinbad was funny as usual with his loud bolsterous yelling. Rob's moment was cool as this show continues to reminds us of previous musical icons whether they are in the show or the gang is reciting lines from iconic music. Love that Dennis is so conceited that even his hallucinations include famous people. But charlie's throw up gag causedfrom being nervous was terrible compared to Dee's they were on stage. See actually is second only to Jim Carrey when it comes to almost throwing up. But that is how much I love this show and it's actors because they are so artistic even when it comes to little things.
Orphan (2009)
Good movie but not believable
This movie was entertaining but the plot depends on having a father daughter relationship where the daughter can donno wrong. That does occur in reality but there were too many accidents for any person with common sense not to suspect that the new arrival is not to at fault. Not to mention your wife keeps telling you that the adopted daughter is evil. So not believable and ultimately made the movie dumb.
Flight 7500 (2014)
D list screen writers
EDIT: I write my review before the movie was done and it was an interesting story and my questions were answered once I got to the end. The story copied a real life incident and although the movie had problems, it was not bad..
Original post: My biggest problem is after two incidents of severe turbulence, a passengers death, the near death of more due to loss of cabin pressure...and the pilots just continue to their long term destination in Tokyo instead of detouring to the nearest airport. I know it is a movie but you got to have a sense of realism. Oh and not to mention they are in a 747 which carriers like 300 passengers but there seems to be only 2 flight attendants and 10 passengers in first class and a few in another section. Movie had potential though!!
