Don't Panic
6 February 2011
After reading many negative reviews here, I thought I would add my spin on the movie. I loved it..

The scenery is great, you believe as though you could be there trapped, a long way underground and hoping you can hold your breath..

Yes as others say, at the start you may not like any of the characters, but this develops pretty well along the way.By the end you are caring about who gets out alive/dies and watch a father/son relationship develop.

Rhys Wakefield is particularly great in this flick. Having moved well on since his home and away days to an established Australian film Actor.

A great afternoon spent.

Drowning Not Waving
30 March 2007
That's right, there's no waving of the hands for rescue, these rescuees are drowning if the rescue swimmers Kevin Costner and Kutcher don't get to them on time. I enjoyed this movie. The movie shows viewers what it is like being in the Coast Guard and allows people to understand that they are real heroes in this world, risking their lives to save others. The movie has got everything, suspense, drama, romance, action and caters for everyone. I particularly liked how we get to see all the complex training that these swimmers have to go through to be able to save our lives! Kevin Costner is great in this movie as a lead rescue swimmer, dealing with a tragedy and then becoming a leader for the next generation. It was also good too see Kutcher in another serious role and I think that this genre does suit him more than comedy. A great tribute to all the men and women of the coast guard!

Daniel Craig Good: Movie: Bad
30 December 2006
I am a huge James Bond fan and couldn't wait to see Casino Royale. The movie starts off well, has plenty of action, but the action scenes are too far between lulls. I know the name of the movie is Casino Royale, but the poker game scene I think drags on for way to long and tends to bore you as you wait for some more action. Yes this movie is certainly a new style of the them. Not many gadgets and certainly no cheesy lines which is an improvement. But for me the movie could have been much shorter and kept moving instead of giving 5 minutes of action followed by 30 minutes of nothing. The Villains are also fairly ordinary unlike previous movies. Daniel Craig I like as Bond. He is more of a rough edged Bond and I bet he worked out for this role as you will be able too see in a certain scene in the movie. Overall Daniel Craig welcome to Bond, but I hope the next movie is much better.

Movie of the Year
27 December 2006
This movie was one of the best this year. Talking to my family, some had some apprehension that it would be 'scary' The only scary thing about the movie is the fact that what would you do if this happened to you. Great casting. Ben Stiller is good as usual, Robin Williams is a standout as Teddy Roosevelt and fantastic too see the Mickey Rooney and Dick VanDyke back on the screen and given plenty of screen time too. this movie It takes you into an imaginative world that makes you think about what's going to happen as well as entertaining you. For young and old this is the movie to put on your must see list. Would be good at IMAX if near you.

Best Movie this year
22 August 2004
This movie rates as one of the best i've seen this year. Jennifer Garner is great and shows just how diverse she can be in her roles.

I took a friend and he expected it to be the usual "chick flick" but he thoroughly enjoyed it. The reasoning being that the show caters for a broad audience. While watching the movie, check out the uncanny resembelance of the young cast members in the start of the film to their future ones in the movie. Mainly the girl that plays a young Jenniffer Garner. Overall I would give this movie a 10/10, excellent entertainment for all.

Cheaper than a ticket to the Ballet!
20 June 2004
I didn't know what too expect with this movie. And it was probably just as well as the if your expecting a storyline then this movie ain't for you.

At least there was some kind of dialogue in the film when there was no dancing. I thought the movie took a little while to get going. Once it does you delve into the outside lives of some of the worlds best Ballet dancers. I will admit that there are quite a few decent ballet performances in this film, one where there is a performance in a storm and the Blue Snake.

The move plays out more like a documentary, but stick with it, it does get better. Neve Campbell is a star in the background as the real dancers perform their stuff.

Hey on the bright side, seeing this movies, cheaper than paying for a ticket to the ballet!

Go see this film and have a gay old time!
18 April 2004
This would have too be one of the best Aussie movies I have seen in a while. It has everything that works. The story keeps moving along very well, no dull moments, it doesn't try hard to get a cheap laugh and you can't go past the pairing of Caton and Hogan, two of the best. The best scenes in the movie are probably when Vince and Ralph(Hogan and Caton) are taught how to act gay and then hit the big city to learn a bit more than they expect! The soundtrack is also pretty good and a great aussie support cast is included in Paula Duncan, Allan Cassell,Roy Billing and Glynn Nicholas. English actor Pete Postlethwaite also plays the tax investigator sent to review their application and performs well. If you want to have a good laugh, see a quality movie then treat yourself to Strange Bedfellows, you won't be dissapointed!

Enjoyable at times but predictable!
5 April 2004
I watched this movie for a couple of reasons. 1. David James Elliot 2. The review was good 3. Nothing else worth watching.

After watching it, I thought it was quite enjoyable, particulary towards the end.

A couple of faults with the movie though, on being with Terry the wife being too annoying and to many 'As if" situations such as as if you would leave your son alone while there's a serial killer after you and your family. It was also pretty predictbale towards the end to guess the killer, even though you may have suspected others that are brought into the story.

Not bad for an afternoon's viewing though.

Enjoyable
14 February 2004
This movie is heaps better than the first. For one thing they got the casting right in having French Stewart play Inspector Gadget. With his comedic background and animation he does a heaps better interpretation than Matthew Broderick.

It was good too see that it was filmed in Brisbane too and fun trying to pick out all the locations and see some of the best Aussie actors on the cast.

The DVD has a heap of extras on it and is informative. If you've got spare time one afternoon sit down and watch this for entertainment.

I can't wait for the 3rd in 3D and hope that they do a better job of it than Spy Kids 3D

Delightful Tear-jerker with a message for everyone
18 January 2004
This movie is one of the best on offer in recent times. The storyline of a poor Irish family moving to America, their hard and fun times and inability to let go to the death of their young son.

The acting is fairly good, the two sisters Emma and Sarah Bolger were brilliant.

In America takes you on a delightful journey through the hardships of life and an underlying message that love and emotions are the core of life.

Don't try to hold back the tears in the film as this movie will definitely move you and have you thinking about your life.

I hope it receives Oscar nominations

Super Wicked Actionpacked Terriffic!
30 December 2003
You don't believe everything that comes out of Colin Farrell's mouth! Considering he said this movie was a "Piece of Crap" is one example. P.S- Probably one of his best so far!)

Great movie that has action from the start. Gives you an insight into what SWAT do.

Good cast- you can't go past Mr Cool himself.(And I'm not talking 'bout LL Cool J! Although he was good) Samuel L Jackson puts in another good performance as the SWAT team leader.

If you want 2 hours of action a plenty go see SWAT!
