Ted Lasso: So Long, Farewell (2023)
Season 3, Episode 12
10/10
Believe...
31 May 2023
What Ted Lasso does well is it focuses on subverting expectations and gives you a moment of calm amongst the chaos of everyday life. This episode does that just as well as always. Ted Lasso is insistent on teaching us lessons, sometimes it does this more subtly than others, and the best lessons it teaches us are the ones about ourselves.

We learn about accepting loss and accepting our own imperfections through this show. We learn that someone who seems like the happiest man on earth is just as sad as so many of us. We learn that people can change for better and worse and that the way we change is by growing parts of our character that have always been there. This final episode of Ted Lasso makes sure to remind us of all of this before it says goodbye.

I do believe there are more stories to be told, but if the creators decide that this is not a show they want to return to, if they decide that this is already an amazing end and don't want to mess with perfection, then I can live with that. This is a rare finale that doesn't feel like a climax, and it definitely does not feel like a let down. It is simply a stepping off point.

You can tell the showrunners looked at this episode and asked themselves what the point was. They asked themselves why they made the show in the first place. It was meant to be a light in the darkness and a show that focuses on the beauty of us. This finale keeps this in mind and reminds us on several to 'believe'.

There are some beautiful symmetries between the start and end here. Character's remind us of who they were and who they are now. Honestly, I watch a lot of shows but I have never felt for characters the way I feel for these ones. When they say thank you and goodbye it carries so much weight. That can hopefully show other creators that the power is in subtext and not exposition. All the emotion is felt through actions, not words. No one says I'll miss you because you made me a better person. Instead, we are given a reminder of what these characters have been through and then we add the emotional weight ourselves. Truly powerful storytelling.

It also would not be so well delivered if the actors did not perform so well. Every leading actor has at least one moment to shine here. They all know their characters so well that they make the impossibly difficult task of rounding off their arcs seem effortless. The only disappointment here is the conclusion to the biggest love triangle of the show, but that only matters to those who saw it as a big part of the show to begin with. If I'm being honest, I was much happier with the work put into Roy and Jamie's friendship this season than anything to do with them and Keeley.

To put it bluntly, I'm upset and happy all at once. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Ted Lasso, yet I found myself putting it on straight away as I woke up this morning. I know some would say there are low points to the show, but I can honestly say I have enjoyed every episode. This finale is one of the many high points though. Well done to everyone involved.

Now, I'm going to start watching Ted Lasso from season 1 episode 1 again so that I can pretend it isn't over.

The tag line for Ted Lasso is 'BELIEVE'. If you've watched the show, you'll know why.

THIS IS SPIDER-MAN!
16 December 2021
Finally, the MCU manages to truly capture the essence or Spider-Man. They manage to truly express his motives and moral compass in a way that does justice to the source character!

Without giving away any spoilers, I will just say that this movie is daring, emotional and filled to the brim with a rich story complex characters.

I can safely say that No Way Home manages to do a better job fleshing out 5 villains than most Marvel movies do with just 1 villain.

This movie makes so much sense and perfectly bookends a trilogy that turns out to merely be an origin story. I happily welcome Tom Holland's Spider-Man and I love the character that has come from these origin movies. I look forward to seeing what the truest depiction of Spider-Man has to offer as he continues his adventures in the MCU.

So much style...so little substance
2 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Just before I start, Resevoir Dogs is my favourite film by QT, but Pulp Fiction is clearly his best. This film lacked what made those movies great: substance. Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood is probably the best film ever when it comes to style, but I personally needed more plot. Yes, studying an aged, outdated actor was interesting, but it wasnt enough. The tragedy is that this film had all the ingredients needed for an utterly fantastic movie, but it seemed as if there was almost no attempt at mixing them together. It is almost as if Tarantino didn't even attempt to make it coherent, and instead he thought that we'd all like it because he nailed the style and art.

It is also a shame because this film could have been an instant classic. The scene at the ranch, and the last 20 mins were absolutely fantastic, and the tension building was spot on, but that was all there was for me that actually showed how good this film could have been. The acting was good too, and the characters, although I didn't like any character likeable bar Margot Robbie's, were perfectly played.

Just a side note, I felt mixed feelings about the violence at the end. I am nonplussed when it comes to violence usually; it neither makes the film better, nor does it make the film any worse, but the violence here seemed out of touch with the rest of the film. Just because Tarantino's signature is violence, that doesn't mean he needed it so excessively here. And the Staffordshire Bull Terrier just breaking out into rage mode, although it was awesome to see the dog save everyone, was completely unnecessary, and doesn't help the stigma towards the breed. A staffy isn't violent unless it has been trained to be, they actually tend to love everyone, and they wouldn't know to bite someone's balls off unless they had been trained to do so.

I wouldn't say this film disappointed me, and it would be unfair if I said that because of anyone else had made this film, someone I hadn't heard of, maybe, then I wouldn't have been disappointed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but because Tarantino has delivered so well in the past, it built the expectations for this movie. It was a perfectly okay film, but had the potential to be a lot more than it was.

If I am being exact, I'd give this film a 6.4/10.

Interstella: Interesting and Sublime Space Story
30 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Many movies forget about emotions. Many movies forget about being intelligent. Many movies forget about using unique character development. I will tell you something for nothing, Interstellar does not forget a single one of these aspects. The story is thought provoking and scientifically accurate which makes it all the more engaging when you allow yourself to be splendidly submerged in this awesomely authentic futuristic feeling landscape that vibrant and visionary director Christopher Nolan has cleverly concocted.

The movie is about the earth dying out and a team of astronauts are sent on a mission to secure survival of the human race. Cooper (Mathew McConaughey) is a desperate father on the mission trying to secure his family's future as Brand (Anne Hathaway) is desperate to save her love on one of the possibly inhabitable planets. All this goes on in a twenty year time-line where Cooper's daughter, Murph (Jessica Chastain), works with Brand's Father (Micheal Caine) to make sure all is ready to save the people of earth if the astronauts happen to return. If they do not, then there is always plan B: abandon earth and start a new.

The originality of the film looks deeply upon humanity's strong survival instincts. The plot entails our development as a species all the way to saving ourselves as fifth dimensional beings who can bend time. The film has a strong science correct plot that makes it all the more original. Christopher Nolan took good care as a director and writer to make sure the film is scientifically suitable. I found the plot very intricate and interesting which led to the film never having a dull moment.

The acting was acceptable. No weak links and a lot of well done emotional moments that, as Nolan often does, are very thought provoking. This also links to Christopher and Johnathon Nolan's screenplay as that was very cleverly presented and only explained a fine amount and left the rest for the viewer to interpret. That is usually what I love about a film.

The visuals where original and eccentric to say the least. Once again, very scientifically accurate. Christopher Nolan and his science allies created a stunning visual world to captivate audiences in. The visuals and the music went hand in hand as Hans Zimmer brought another beautiful soundtrack to accompany another great Nolan motion picture.

Overall, this movie is one of the most original and exquisite pieces of movie making I have ever seen. It may not be Nolan's best but it is a movie that breaks boundaries and grips you to the point of complete awe. I adored and applaud this film with confidence to be one of the most original, visionary and complex films to ever have graced the big screen.

+direct: unusual style to accompany a unusual movie.

+story: focuses on all the obvious and not so obvious aspects that make a movie spectacular.

+screenplay: right amount of informing audience and emotional epic-ness.

+Music: stunning composition that sticks with you and flows fluently with the motion picture.

+Visual Effects: stellar, stupendous and spectacular.

Exquisite Exhibit of Astonishing Acting and Devine Direction
29 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
What do you look for in a film? Humor? Good acting? Stimulating story? Birdman had it all and more. This film balanced A lovable, laughable and luring story against unique directing and addictive acting.

Birdman tells the story of a struggling ex superhero actor (Riggan, played by Micheal Keaton) trying to make a comeback in the great New York City theatre that will blow the audience away. Riggan runs into some bumps in the form of mike(Edward Norton)- the crazy actor, the estranged girlfriend- Laura (Andrea Riseborough) and delinquent daughter- Sam (Emma Stone). Riggan tries to solve the problems of the, soon to be released, play with a chip on his shoulder in the form of his superhero counterpart. The only one to help him is his best friend Jake (Zach Galifianakis).

Each actor said had a phenomenal performance, no matter how brief, and blew me away. I could only say that Michael Keaton and Edward Norton where the best because they are the most focused on characters. Every other character did not shine quite as bright as Keaton and Norton but shined none the less.

The directing was beyond brilliant. Alejandro González Iñárritu did something stupendously special and brought my undivided attention from start to finish with astonishing angles and splendid shots. He decided to shoot the film like one long take. You barely notice as the film goes so quickly and that is part of the art around it. Iñárritu decided that when he did end a take he would make it subtle. He did just that. I noticed very thew cuts and takes and that is largely due to the intricate editing.

The flaw with this film is probably the fact that it was maybe a tad too subtle at points like the whole superpowers aspect of Riggan. You assume he is crazy but it is meant to be obvious that he isn't and he can actually fly. By the end I finally realised it. I'm not for movies spelling it out to me so I can not argue with Iñárritu letting me figure it out for myself.

The other aspect was Emma Stone. I love her and she is damn near perfection, but if she did not irritate me every second she was on screen. I hated her character and I believed her to be out of place with the others. She was hugely underplayed but I do not know whether that was good or bad based on my displeasure for her role. That being the only huge flaw in the film, I did not find much else wrong with it.

To finish, I loved the beauty of Birdman (Or The Unexpected Vertue Of Ignorance) and it is a wonderful work of art. If I was Iñárritu, I would be sure to hell that Birdman will be my masterpiece.

+directing: unique and tremendously tantalising work from Alejandro González Iñárritu.

+acting: everyone evenly match and Keaton and Norton only stood out because they took majority of the screen time.

+story: well balanced and meaningful. Not your typical Oscar movie.

+music: could not have been anything better to accompany this movie.

-screenplay: did not allow enough time for love able characters

-subtlety: super subtle in some places but can not complain too much as I hate it when movies are not subtle enough. Never the less, the middle ground was not found for me.

Focus (II) (2015)

Twists and Turns Trick and Titillate the Technical Encheplon (brain)
29 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Focus may not be the best film to have graced the screen but it is by far one of the most underrated films I have ever encountered. The plot was intricate and well devised. Will Smith finally impressed me as I have not been particularly happy with him since After Earth. I was prepared to be happy with his acting as I needed him to be picking up since he has Suicide Squad coming up.

Margot Robbie was sensational (in every sense) and kept me gripped to her character from the first second to the last. Will Smith and Margot Robbie's chemistry is strange but surprisingly fitting to their characters. The rest of the actors were nothing special but they seemed good next to these two stunningly, spectacularly sensational actors who broke rank throughout the film.

The plot to the film is dependent on the intelligence of the plays the characters undertake. The plot jumps from one point to another with a three year gap in between. The movie starts with a grifter group, led by Will Smith's Nicky, going through every con in the book on New Orleans. There is quickly a addition to the team when Margot Robbie's Jess joins the group. A natural born con artist and natural born beauty, Jess presents herself again in Nicky's life but three years later. I would say that you keep a little bit unsettled as you settle with the story in New Orleans and then you jump three years later. The pace is good but the set up and structure is a bit out of sync.

The script is uneven but the times when it is well done it can be enjoyed and when it is not well done you just have to deal with the problem of the fact that the dialogue is jumping from one point to another and feels unnatural. The screenplay may be a bit off at some points but I did enjoy the storyline to the point that it made the film very well paced.

To summarise, Focus was good and enjoyable but was not the best film I have ever watched. I am most happy with Will Smith and Margot Robbie breaking rank against the other actors. The story was clever and the ending to both of the two main parts where clever and well thought out. If it was not for the bad structure to the film and the uneven writing the film would be even better.

+acting: smith and Robbie were brilliant and had a good dynamic.

+Story: the concept behind the story and the characters is the most interesting in the whole film.

+ending: the ending was enjoyable and fitting to the rest of the film.

-Screenplay: uneven and jumpy in places.

-structure: badly presented which lead to me losing interest in the film.

Mad Max: Majestic Masterpiece of Modern Media
29 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Tom Hardy. Nicholas Hoult. Charlize Theron. Three reasons I went to see this film but very little of the reason I absolutely adored this masterpiece. The action is second to none. One majestic and massive chase sequence running two hours long is difficult to perfect and there is only one action genius that could get it right- George Miller. His absence from live action has finally ended. His return is, what I hope,is also the return of good action films.

The visionary directing is delightful. The screenplay was written around the storyboard. That's right, George Miller story boarded the movie and then based the script about it. Clever is a understatement. Miller has taken the idea of a predictable action film and twisted the concept into something special.

The story is very emotionally engaging which (once again) is rare for a action film. The story revolves around Legendary warrior Furiosa (Charlize Theron) freeing the oppressed wives of of Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). Taking a beast of a tanker, Furiosa goes off against Immortan Joe's whole army of Joe's Half-Life warriors. Furiosa's goes on a massive car chase but is later joined by the road Warrior: Mad Max. The Half-Life warrior Nux (Nicholas Hoult) betrays his master and eventually joins the team. They race to the 'green place' to find salvation.

Nicholas Hoult was the stand out actor in the film. His crazy, off his rocker betrayal of the effects of the apocalypse are unbelievably convincing. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theon also break rank with completely engaging performances. No acting in this film is bad. For me, every actor fits in beautifully with the style and atmosphere of the movie.

The biggest visionary aspects of the film are:

the cinematography- to have such a bright and vibrant world for a apocalypse film is interesting and incredibly clever.

The Directing- the long takes and absolutely abnormal angles of the directing are transcendent to almost all other movies.

The concept- to think up the whole one long chase sequence takes time and creativity that almost all action films lack and most films altogether forget about. Also, thinking of the storyboards before the screenplay is difficult and hard to master yet, Miller does it perfectly.

The only problem I had with the film is the lack of dialogue but the movie manages without it. I love how they managed to put so much character development with very little dialogue. The hidden meaning of empowering women and never bowing down to dictation are expressed strongly without too much dialogue. I do love long conversations in movies but I was deprived from that feeling in this film. Still, minimal dialogue and Nicholas Hoult showed off a higher quality of acting that actors in films with nothing but talking still do not manage to show.

To finish, I found this film a instant classic that can never be forgotten and can truly compete with the originals. I do not know whether it is better than the old Mad Max films but it is easily as good but more visionary and more meaningful.

+the action: nothing like anything you have ever seen.

+the concept: original and has good, interesting deeper meanings.

+the acting: Hoult is sensational and manages to stand out against Hardy and Theron who also blow you away.

+the screenplay: may not have dialogue everywhere but when character speaks it is meaningful and incredibly important to the strong development the story has.

+cinematography: not cliché for a apocalyptic movie. Usually dark but here it is bright and vibrant.

-little dialogue: meaningful when used but I wish there was more.

Foxcatcher (2014)

Rich resonance accompanied by phenomenal acting.
28 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A movie that has moments of pure empathy. You look, you see what the character is going through and, one way or another, you understand. You reciprocate the entanglement of emotion. Thus, making this film the work of art I hoped it would become.

I am a Oscar lover but they got it all wrong for three reasons: One-Steve Carell should have won a Oscar. Two-Channing Tatum should have been at least nominated for a Oscar. Three-make-up should have won a Oscar. It was splendid.

I saw Channing Tatum's Mark Shultz to be a damaged, exposed and conflicted character that broke my heart every second he was on screen. His life was completely unsatisfied after getting gold and I understand the pain of not being fulfilled by the simplicity of life. Carell was the most complex character for me. He showed the logic and sense of a mad man maniac who had neither logic or sense. Ruffalo gave a heartwarming performance as the family man. He raised the bar to meet the stupendous standards met by other actors. He compelled me to crave his victory. All I wanted was for Dave Shultz's life to be perfect but it is never a perfect world.

The only problem I found with this film (one I am disappointed in my self for having it) is that the film did take a thew liberties with making sure the film flew by. Every film has at least one inconsistency. This films was pace. The pace was uneven. Some parts dragged beyond belief. I was consistently checking to see what the time was. Overall it felt as if I spent four hours watching this film when I actually only spent two and a bit. The film is paint and I watched it dry. Script was well written but, obviously, not the stand out segment of this piece. The directing was well done in some places but average in most. A brief paragraph for brief enjoyments in this film.

Overall, I enjoyed the film to the point I can barely wrap my head around it, never the less, it was average in some areas and could be unevenly paced but I would not go so far to say that there was bad things in this film.

+acting: Tatum was the best surprise but Carell was the standout actor, seconded by Tatum.

+story: well depicted and picked apart. Very thew true stories actually shock me…but this one did.

+make up: unbelievable! The actors are unrecognisable. They look exactly like the parts they are portraying.

-pace: uneven and long winded in places. Could have been improved.

Arrow: Left Behind (2015)
Season 3, Episode 10
10/10
The start of something new.
22 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I struggled to reach a decision about this episode. I thoroughly enjoyed the new main characters (even though they're temporary) of Diggle and Roy. Malcolm's concern for Oliver's death was touching, but nobody hit me harder than felicity (Emily Brett Rickards).

Felicity was so well done in this episode that she leads the acting talent for once. John Barrowman was as good as ever and Colton Haynes (Roy) managed to scrape his way into my happy books. Haynes could have been more impressive though. Katie Cassidy was almost irrelevant in this episode except for the epic ending where we finally see our real black canary. I was disappointed that Matt Nable did not come back for Ra's this episode. Vinnie Jones was a acceptable enemy for the new arrow team. Slightly different from his other works and reminds me that he is a impressing actor.

The story is the only irritation. I truly believe it is my fault for over hyping the second half of season 3 for myself. The idea of Oliver being resurrected by the lazzarus pit and then going crazy evil would have been a amazing way to have taken the show…instead Tatsu brings him back. A little less grand than I had hoped. Atom/ Ray Palmer is going to take too long at this rate. He only just managed to get a gauntlet on and it does not even work. How very disappointing.

Just to raise one point; Black Canary is Laurel Lance. Get over it! Laurel is Dinah and Dinah is the real Black Canary. She will learn how to become a hero and will learn how to fight. She will be even more awesome than Sara was and will easily be as awesome as all the other characters.

To summarise, this episodes emotional roller-coaster left he satisfied for another seven days and will go however it goes. I know that the writers know what they are doing. I am disappointed Oliver was resurrected so soon, but at least he died and has actually died and came back. Something amazing is going to happen with Tatsu in the present coming back and bring Oliver back. The whole story is starting to come together now but it is taking it's time. Never the less, I love what arrow is doing.

+Felicity story +new lead characters. +new villain. +Tatsu resurrecting Oliver. +Perfectly captivating acting.

-Oliver is already back. -Ray Palmer is tacking his time with the A.T.O.M suit.

Rating: 9.3/10.

Arrow: The Climb (2014)
Season 3, Episode 9
10/10
This changes everything!
11 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
My life changed tonight. I watched arrow, season 3, episode 9: the climb. Before this, my favourite TV show was breaking bad and the greatest episode of television was Ozymandias. Now my favourite show is arrow and the best episode is the climb.

I do not understand who is rating arrow so badly for the overall to be 8.2 but I beg of you, please change it if your rating for overall is less than a 9. To get into the episode, I must say the only singular minute I did not enjoy 100% was the Thea and Oliver fight. It just didn't fit in but it was very necessary to convayed the point that Oliver knows the truth about his sister. Even though Thea has betrayed Oliver more in 48 hours than she did in two years, Oliver still gives his life for her. That is family love.

Malcolm's plan was beautifully amazing and I just love John Barrowman's acting. Ray Palmer revealed his origins in a heartfelt scene. Felicity and Oliver was a great way to see Oliver's human side. Felicity and Ray was a great way to give felicity a good relationship. I'm happy they didn't over do it with giving Roy or Diggle a major story otherwise it would have been over crowded.

I'm going to save the best for last- Ra's V.S Oliver. The fight was not only surprising, it was a amazing majestic masterpiece. The speeches. The fighting. The end. Everything was a beautiful piece of work. I knew Ra's Al Ghul would beat Oliver but to kill him is a new story. This episode breaks the barriers of what TV shows do. I can not wait to see Lazarus pit and resurrection.

I can only say this show has made me feel the way I never thought I would. I have not been like this since ozymandias. This is my idea of perfection. 10/10

The price of freedom is high, but it's a price I'm willing to pay!
20 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Stunning. Epic. Perfected. This film hits the nail on everything. I am a huge comic book fan and not many comic book based films get my stamp of approval, but this, I have a soft spot for this film. It takes the classic American hero who helped us through the struggles of World War Two, and managed to show the finest human qualities through him.

If I am asked to think of the perfect superhero movie, will not think of The Dark Knight. I will think of this. The Dark Knight is the best film ever to me but not a perfect superhero film. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is so well structured that it allows space for Captain America, Nick Fury, Natasha (Black Widow), and Sam Wilson to grow and develop. Captain America becomes more trusting after he found he was too trustful in Avenegers. This film sees him find the perfect balance of trust. Natasha becomes secure about herself. Fury starts to think like a good guy instead of a soldier and finally, Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon, becomes Steve Rogers' partner.

I also love the reveals in this movie. Fury dying and then coming back. The Winter Soldier is Steve's best friend, Bucky (knew that anyway but still fun to see), and I was surprised to see that story of S.H.I.E.L.D and hydra being one and the same. Perfect way to connect all of the Marvel films so far.

The First Avenger really just connect all phase 1 films together. Winter Soldier does the same but uses multiple different connections like the politician from Iron Man 2 or the S.H.I.E.L.D agent from the Avengers.

I also loved Natasha and Steve's connection in this film. It felt genuine and exceptionally special for a superhero movie to have such a good, saphisticated and intrigue relationship between two characters.

The action is perfectly done and the fighting is beautiful. I love Mixed Martial Arts, so seeing the fighting made my heart skip beats. It even found a awesome way to add in a submission to the mix.

Overall, this movie amazed me and has brought me to appreciate Captain America once again. This movie is at the top of my overall favourite movies, let alone comic book based movies. This movie is a matter piece full with chills and epic action (chills best when Steve does the speech) which is why it has a special place in my heart. Well done.

Arrow: Seeing Red (2014)
Season 2, Episode 20
10/10
One of the best episodes of television!!
27 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Watching the episode 'Deathstroke' makes you wonder if the show will get any better. I can safely say it can. Seeing red is dramatic and chilling towards the end. The plot itself was expected to be a plot to finish up Roy's story for the season, it's not. This episode literally changed everything. Roy is being kept sedated and can not be helped besides the venom to keep him unconscious. Oliver has a child who is completely unknown to Oliver. I assume it's the child he should have had with Shado. As the episode wasn't big enough, Slade starts his attack on Oliver and we say goodbye to a character I personally have both liked and disliked but was still sad to see go. This is surely the best episode so far and all it does is bring us into the final episodes so my question is: IF THIS EPISODE IS SO GOOD, THEN HOW AWESOME IS THE FINALE GOING TO BE????

Best marvel movie to date(except iron man and including avengers).
3 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
If you thought that avengers was good, you will be pleasantly surprised with Thor:the dark world. This movie plays tricks that the first set of marvel movies never did. This takes brave steps that change Thor's life and makes you wonder through the rest of the movie what more steps are made. The villain, although very distant to the characters and not as personal as Loki is, Christopher Ecclestone is still a brilliant actor and has a very evil vibe when he plays the role of the evil Dark Elf leader. Overall this is a masterpiece for marvel as I have seen marvel's movies as nothing special until now(accept for iron man). So I recommend watching Thor: The Dark World as it has an epic cliffhanger and gets you really excited for the next step in marvel's movie franchise.

Arrow (2012–2020)
10/10
The best superhero drama ever made!!
27 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This show is so very unpredictable that even me (who is good at guessing what is going to happen next) can't see what's coming. This show is amazing and has too me on a long ride of superhero drama. Every episode ending is basically a cliff hanger that leaves you questioning either, every thing about the story or everything about the characters. The acting is amazing. Stephen Amel as our Emerald Archer is one of the best casting choices I've seen on T.V. The rest of the cast also work so well with each other and Katie Cassidy is brilliant as well. I praise this show so much because I think it is well done in every area. The action is brilliant and suspense filled which is good because it goes so well with the theme of the show.

Arrow is such a young show and is going to grow and become even better (if that's possible) and I personally can't wait to see Summer Glau in the next season because season two is going to be spectacular.

Man of steel for a new generation!
15 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Critics believe this movie is missing out so many things, this could be true but Snyder has made up for this in directing, David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight trilogy.) have made up for this in the story. People expect this Man Of Steel to be exactly like the classics. They expect Cavil to be exactly like Christopher Reeve. They are not. We are in a different age now, an age with darker people, darker villains and darker heroes. The only way we can pretend that a superman can exist in this age is to redefine him to a different time. This Superman is what happens when you think 'what would it be like if an alien like Kal-El existed on this earth with our problems. I believe the design of this Superman trilogy (if it becomes one.) is to freshen things up and to be a journey and show the viewers that Clark has to become a certain man before he can guide humanity towards a new tomorrow. Why is this film getting all the bad reviews when Morrison is doing the exact same things with the comic books? Sadly this film doesn't go in depth on the romance between Superman and Lois and Clark and Lois. The beginning on krypton is fairly rushed but can you blame Goyer and Nolan from trying not to make it too long. I only saw this film 5 hours ago and I'm impressed with it and how Superman has to discover who he needs to become and he needs to fight the urge to kill as he killed Zod to save the lives of a family but he needs to learn there is always another option. I can't wait to see him discover that and I can't wait to see the rest of Kal-El's journey. Overall the acting was spectacular, especially from Cavil, Crowe, Adams, Chanon and basically the rest of the cast.
