Trash, nothing more...
27 January 2012
It seems interesting. It only seems. Revenge in the movies? The "film" is far from being about it. Over 90% of it, shows a gang of Gothics who haunts a small town, killing and raping, two friends trying to be the heroes of the city and there, in the third plan, is the actress who plans his revenge after the death of her husband, who was murdered by the gang leader. The such revenge only happens 10 minutes before the movie end with more than half the people in the theater (which was practically empty) die by drinking rat poison. I only watched to the end not to say that I spent my money for nothing. It did not help. I trusted because it is a Universal Pictures movie, but it is a horrible production that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

One Day (2011)
10/10
Romantic and moving drama.
6 December 2011
One Day is a mixture of romance/drama in the right measure, which shows a couple of friends who had their lives marked by day July 15.

All the drama takes place in just one day of the year, and every year their life and their personality changes, leaving them increasingly distant. And each year that these differences make the inevitable distance, their love becomes more evident. Beautiful, charming, touching and romantic, with an end a little obvious, but still beautiful. Excellent performances, photography, script and soundtrack. Anne and Jim made a great couple.

I recommend for anyone who loves a well told drama.

Delirious (2006)
7/10
Simple and funny, with exaggerated drama
20 November 2011
In New York, Les is a celebrity photographer in search of the photo that will make him the news. As he tries, he meets Toby, a young resident of street, with no perspective, except for a vague desire to become an actor. Les initially rejects his new friend, but eventually accepts it in his apartment. Les does so with a purpose: he sees a chance to meet with K'Harma Leeds, the hottest star of the moment. The plan comes well at first, when the star invite Toby to your party. Except that their friendship is threatened when who gets to succeed is the homeless, not the photographer.

"Delirious" isn't a movie made to be successful, but to give us a time of the conventional. It is different in the script, in pace and in outcome - for more strange that can be! Doesn't deepen in the friendship between Les and Toby, or in the platonic love of the homeless and the famous singer, and this turns out to be good, since that would makes it the story tedious, and here there is a romantic comedy. May not please all, but the few who like it can become fans. I recommend to who likes newer things.

Funny Games (2007)
8/10
Good, But not to Everyone
20 November 2011
"Funny Games U.S." is more than just an American remake. It criticizes, in an ironic way, cold and gratuitous violence that so we like to see, whether in film, television or videogames. This becomes clear when one of serial killers looks and talks to the viewer. The idea is good, but for to have been misunderstood by most, I think it became more a dull suspense and obvious. There isn't an expectation about the survival of the family, much less twisted. The bad guys end up being more interesting than anything else in the film. And some people end up liking them more than of the victims themselves. I've heard several reasons for the existence of the scene with the remote control, but honestly, I don't found one that was actually convenient and perhaps express the idea of the director. In short: still don't understand that! Out the various slow scenes, the miss of a really tense script and the various chances to save the family that were ignored, it's cool the way it was shown two guys bored and pampered doing their "games" in bad taste. A good movie to be discussed.

Frozen (I) (2010)
10/10
Distress start to finish
16 November 2011
It is not often that I feel distressed to see a suspense film. The only time I remember was watching "Buried" (2011). I'd seen "Frozen" (2010) for a long time, but had no chance to watch it before. Until I watched and I don't regret it. It is really dramatic. Have you thought about getting stuck in a high place, on a cold night, dark, snowing and with wolves around? It is pure misery. And this affliction is transmitted by the characters, especially with the first one that dies. The weak point is at its obvious end. Not wanting to end up with some suspense, but a cliché of the genre, is that just can be one character at the end. And it is obvious who will be this person. This is your problem. And if you watch this movie waiting a terror, will be disappointed. It is not terror, is drama. I recommend for those who like the genre. Really good.

Cry Wolf (2005)
5/10
It Can be Leave Much to be desired for horror fans
12 November 2011
"Cry Wolf" is a good game of intrigue that doesn't become surprising when you remember it all started with a game of lies created by bored students. Not very original for those who saw "April Fool's Day" as they are quite similar. Especially at the end. All starts with a death and unknown murder, called by the people of the small town of Cry Wolf. A new student arrives at school and know the leader of a youth group that join to play games every night. Before long they decide to make a game with the whole school. A game about Cry Wolf. As interesting the plot look like be, it doesn't excite much, except for the final. Well, in short, the end is the better film. There isn't a suspense as decent as "My Bloody Valentine", but worth as short entertainment. Good performances, very simple deaths, and Bon jovi's optimal actuation in movies. For fans of suspense, might be a good choice, for fans of too deaths and blood in movies, it can leave much to be desired.

Fast Five (2011)
7/10
good, but not the best...
12 November 2011
The expectation is always great when is a film in the franchise F&F. All previous films were great, could not be different with "Fast 5". Yeah, it has many unrealistic scenes, but what makes this movie good are these exaggerated as the final scenes, where Brian and Don hold a multi-ton safe in their cars. The performances were great, as always, and the soundtrack is another great thing in the film. One of the few things I dislike in the plot was this not to be the last film in the franchise. Had a great end. But instead, we find something else to make a new movie. A good idea with the return of a character lost, but that could have been discarded. With a few races, forget it if expected a movie full of speed as 2 Fast 2 Furious. But for fans, it's a good chance to see three movie stars in action in a single movie.

It seems to be Much More Interesting than it Actually is...
8 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Begins to show nothing more than sex and breasts. Script that comes down to rape and revenge. More rape than anything else. Totally unnecessary scenes and characters appear only to increase the duration. After the "death" of the future avenger, scenes pass slowly, showing the lack of creativity of writers who spend about three minutes showing the naked girl walking from one side to another until hitting the road. The only thing that is worth a little, is the soundtrack. One of the songs in the film seems to be a plagiarism from the soundtrack of the movie Planet Horror, mixed with Molly's Chamber by Kings of Leon. Long-awaited revenge is low in creativity and nothing good, as seen in revenge I Spit On Your Grave. The result is disappointing and we see the end credits, and a question comes to mind: "That's it?!", along with the sense wasted of time. They can try, but I have not seen a gore/trash better than those made by Rodriguez and Tarantino.
