Superb epic period courtroom drama, beautifully shot and stylized.

Central message of the movie, Nunca Mas -- Never Again, rings as true today as it did almost 40 years ago.

Considering all the political upheavals and unrest modern day faces as of 2023, this movie almost has to be a must watch. While some of the heartbreaking witness statements are hard to take in, idea of bringing authoritarianism and dictatorship to justice feels one's soul with hope.

Splendid cast and nicely choreographed courtroom scenes transform complicated real-world historic trial into compelling captivation watch.

If you are willing to watch at least one prominent Awards Season international contender -- this flick is as good as any.

Two and a half hours flash in blink.

Ignore the Negative Noise

After six episodes out of eight it can be easily stated that this is a great addition to cinematic Middle-Earth Universe.

Astonishing production value, awesome technical execution and mesmerizing world-building.

Done with love to the source material despite absolutely ludicrous bickering you may encounter online. Two initial episodes were enough (for me) to be transported yet again into the world of Tolkien, and as worthy depiction of it as seen before in both Jackson trilogies.

By far one of the best epic fantasy pieces of fiction ever on screens.

Hopefully this is only the beginning of multi-year journey.

There's some contingent of movie-going public that seems to be tired (at least according to self-reports) of corporate superheroics and IP Arms Race

if you are one of these people, this flick is supposed to be for you

I'm happy some filmmakers still can get a decent budget and crew to make an original epic genre swing aimed to instill AWE in you

feels like this movie will stay with me for years to come.

good old-fashioned fun

This is exactly the type of Friday genre-flicks I want Netflix to be making

silly ridiculous humor + stylish vampire hunting action = max fun 🎃💀

P. S. would make a perfect double feature with 2011 Fright Night.

Turn Left at the Fork

This season has been a real pleasure so far, however penultimate episode seems to be too self-indulgent on long speeches and short on any real "meat" to the story

I sincerely hope last ep will be splendid, alas this one feels like an indication that show might slide yet again in a fustercluck loop it seems to follow each time finale is in sights.

One of the best hours of television I've seen in years. Shedding away gloss and athletic filmmaking that made Euphoria great - this special episode (done in a very simple format of two human being conversing) achieved new height still. Profound.

Perfect 2020 Genre Oddball
9 September 2020
Yeah, film was shot and set to be released back in 2017 and there's basically zero chance there ever will be any continuation 'cause it's flopped hard

alas, it's a heartful, atmospheric, weird flick which will stay with me for a number of reasons: a) bizarrely synergetic with 2020 corona-haunted year being a movie about a ragtag band of teens confined together due to reasons out of their control; b) captures the intangible teen spirit which far better-crafted cinematic gems at times cannot; c) profoundly heartwarming easter eggs - some of them speak to 80s genre flicks aficionados; some to 90s pop-culture adepts; plus one "Logan" in-universe connection (not baddies' name) which 95% of people will miss; d) I just like these characters and find main romantic storyline extremely touching, shoot me.

to cap this one - it's NOT necessarily a 'good' cinema in a conventional sense. Who cares tho ? I don't. Dig it and definitely will rewatch more than once.
