Kill Shot (2023)
What the hell...
Went to my mates house and he just started the movie... Anyway, I thought it was a comedy at first, like you know those purposefully bad movies with cheesy lines and bad acting.
But it fast became reality this was a serious movie, well to them anyway. The acting was horrific, the writing was even worse and the filmography looked like something you'd do in a film production class at high school.
It was seriously like they got a group of instagram influences together, we no acting experience and shot this over a weekend. It's a really rough watch, and it cost 6 bucks or something.. Crazy hahah.
Elvis (2022)
Good but Tom Hanks. Ugh!
I rather enjoyed the movie as a whole, Austin was killer as Elvis, from movements to speech. My confusion comes at Tom Hanks. Everytime he was on screen I would cringe, make up and acting was dreadful. I personally love all Hanks movies, but this one I felt like maybe he's past his acting expiry. Outside of this, I found the portrait of Elvis to be different to common knowledge. I mean i didnt know Elvis haha, but this portral is not what i expected. I thought he'd be more confident and a little less whingy, i guess id call it. I dunno, again more a thought i had. All in all not a bad movie, nothing to write home about but mostly fun non the less.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
This is horrific.
Black Widow, Wanda, Carol Danvers, Valkyrie, Gamora, Shuri, Okoye, Jane Foster, Ms Marvel, Storm, Jessica Jones, Nebula, Pepper Potts, Maria Hill.... what's with the list? It's just strong female characters, that don't need to tell us every two seconds how strong they are... because they're strong... we all know it hahaha this show was a messy garbage fire. The writers hopped up on their own socially woke agenda took an amazing strong female character and turned her into a walking contradiction. Her dialogue was agony and cringey. I just think it's a dangerous path. When you lose track of superheroes and your personal agenda you think people care about... horrific guys.
The Toybox (2018)
Oh boy...
Right. So the premise of the movie is good, serial killers van, lots of potential "ohhhhh" moment, I was keen. But that excitement died very quickly ....
How Denise Richards is still getting roles, I'll never understand but her along with the rest couldn't act in a Mexican soap opera. I was waiting for one to look at the camera and yell "ahh line?".
Why does no one care anyone is dying? Like, they all seem sad for about 30 seconds, then they go on with their day... little girl gets run over? "Yeah I can't get under there so I won't check, dam that was silly to run over her bro. "We should walk to the highway".
Why could know one make a smart decision? The van is chasing old mate... so he runs in a straight line, right in front of it.... you're in the desert step to the side my guy!!!
Like bad B grade movies are sometimes good for a laugh or surprise you but this is the definition of bad B grade movies.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
That's not how the force works!
Okay, so I'm commenting as a massive all round Star Wars fan. When the force awaken came out I was so god dam excited because it felt like we had a clean break into a new saga.....
But on ROTS, my biggest issue with the movie is the complete disregard for how the force works. Rey can barely kill a training droid but then is able to save Ben and some snake while force healing, both arts are reserved for extremely high level Jedi even yoda couldn't do that. Then the battles through the force and moving of items. Just too much and not accurate at all, even if they are connect through the force it's just spitting in the face of consistency.
The story telling, oh boy, with sagas, they should have an open, middle progression and a hook conclusion. TFA did it well, sure it was cookie cutter style but it was engaging.
But after that we got two polar opposite movies TLJ a slow paced space race with no real story advancement and then ROTS which had so much happening so quickly I almost got whip lash and couldn't keep up. You could fast forward it and put the Benny hill theme music over the top.
All of this being said, I truly believe this saga could have been an amazing story by one thing.... That is either Johnson or J.J directed and wrote all 3 movies.... but that's wishful thinking haha.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Still hurts 7 months on....
Oh gosh, I put this off because I wanted to wait and re-watch the episode in a few months when I had forgotten.
Still pure, unadulterated garbage.... You can try and chalk it down to people not getting what they wanted or listen to the potato Sophie Turner trying to justify it but it's terrible writting.
From beginning to end of the season DnD didn't give a flying toss about this show and you could tell they wanted it over to do their crappy Netflix show.
I truly hope it's worth it because they will always be known as the guys that took a perfect show and screwed it up at the end.
See (2019)
*Raises hand* Excuse me but ?
Okay first off, love Francis Lawrence's movies, he has a good ability to do post apocalypse worlds.... But not today baby, NOT. TO. DAY
I don't like to nitpick movies, I mean I will always attempt to like it for what it is but this is so freaking stupid I need someone to answer the following:
- How do they know what fashion is? Why are they wearing like jewelry and things like that? Looks like they're wearing stone age Dolce Gabbana....
- Also why are they in a stone age at all? When the first people went blind did someone bump the launch all nukes button?
- How did they build all the buildings and then make them all look symmetrical and decorated so well?
- Why the hell is sight considered taboo, why do they think they have eyeballs?
- It's like they can hear over mass distance but not a few feet away? Why?
- Also their mobility while blind in the fight scenes... Just common, I am fully sighted and I roll my ankle jumping downstairs.
I could go on, but this movie is really stupid. That all I can say. I am just confused, I mean more than one person read the script, surely someone put their hand up and said "sooo how the crap did they do all this?"......
I feel like it would have made more sense if they were deaf but still, I dunno if I could take that too seriously either.
Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (2019)
I am really disappointed with the "fans"
This is a perfect episode and the perfect wrap up to a very long journey.
For those who have actually watched from day one have spent years and years with these characters and invested a lot of time into them.
Now come episode 3 I believe we will see 70% of them die or be separated again. So yes, we need this episode to bring together all the greatest characters and watch their re-connection. Watch them interact before they will die, it's these small moments of joy people will be happy to go back to at the end.
Personally I've found it's the new fans, which I wont call band-wagoners but they're late to the game and expect to have fast paced action, blood and gore straight away. Usually with the line "There is only 6 eps", but these last 4 episodes will be longer and more mentally taxing than any we will see.......
Winter has come.
Death Note (2017)
Everyone needs to just relax!
First off, out of the hundreds even thousands of anime's I have watched, Death Note is easily in my top 3! It was 37 episodes of pure intense drama, story telling and moral dilemmas. But unfortunately the movie just doesn't quite land on the same page.... pun intended.
But I am not here to just complain, I am here to offer my informative opinions on how Hollywood could have saved this mess. 1. Turn it into a TV series. 2. Make Nat Wolff a new character. 3. Nat is the next person to receive DN after Light Yagami, this would help explain why he's a white American kid. 4. Fill the TV show with references to the anime show. Eg, See Light and his entries names on the final pages. 5. Not have him (For the beginning) not so easily manipulated by a girl. It was pretty clear she was getting her jollies by names going in and he was blind to it.
Now, I have been speaking as someone who is referencing the show. Now if I was a new viewer having never seen the anime, I actually think the movie is alright, even as a standalone there is a lot to be desired. Hence the 5/10.
But overall it's just another reason why these half ass directors shouldn't be allow to touch high end shows without the guidance of professionals. I mean this marks the 6th or something terrible Death Note movie attempt and I am sure it wont be the last.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Wow. Comics over Movies . . . Until now.
Okay, as a massive comic book fan I have always found the Marvel, DC movies a bitter pill to swallow mostly because I thought the comics where better . . . Well, not in this case.
Sure, Civil War is really not like the comic, certain characters aren't there and the teams are different, but OMFG, this movie is amazing, from beginning to end, it's just a bomb of great dialog and amazing fight scenes!!
Steve Rogers! Tony Stark! Both amazing as per usual, I walked in there as Team Ironman, then when i saw the difference in the story I actually was emotionally torn between them! It was a hard thing to watch and that alone proves to me the depth in this movie!
Their fight scene in the airport is potentially one of the best fight scenes I have EVER seen, some of my favorite comic heroes, Ironman, spiderman, black panther and scarlet witch all just throwing down! MY GOD! . . .
Only "downside" if I had to pick at something, was some of the fight scenes had so freaking much going on it got a little hard to follow with the shaky cams! OH and I wish they had made a better fight scene with Widow and Sharon Carter VS the Winder solider, that would have been bad ass!
But this movie borderlines perfect for me and they 100% deserve the 10/10. Congrats guys.
Deadpool (2016)
Perfect. From a die hard Comic fan!
So I just got out of my second viewing of Deadpool, when Marvel studios first kicked off I prayed to god this would happen one day, a Deadpool movie as has been my favorite character since the early 90's with his appearance in New Mutants!
So the movie made me very excited and very terrified because this could have just been the biggest fail. Well, it wasn't, everything by Ryan was perfect and I mean perfect, Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds, he nailed it. The costumes where great, they really bought him to life with the Animated eyes, really awesome. The humor was perfect, perfect for an R Rated movie, in Deadpool style well timed and extremely witty!
The movie is very very very violent, which I kind of gathered it would be, but even so you found most of it funny. . . The jumper punches at DC and everything else through it where amazing, it's very rare these days you sit in a cinema and everyone is laughing!
This movie is violent, funny, smart and exciting, everything you expect from Deadpool when you read the comic and now it's on the big screen.
10/10 Can't wait for the second!
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Tired of these fanboy hipsters!
Okay, OKAY, I have read through some of these comments and WHAT A JOKE! The lot of you. Every Star Wars fan since 1999 - 2005, has been sooking and crying wanting it to be like 4,5 and 6! So what does JJ do? Makes a kick off to a new trilogy, exactly how you wanted, a rehash of the original?? What more do you want from it? Cause guess what, ROTJ was more predictable than any of them, even sitting in that cinema, I knew exactly what was going to happen, but you know what? I didn't care!!
I am going to throw it down, if you didn't like this movie, new generation Star Wars isn't for you, time to find a new hobby because he's some reality, they're not going anywhere! Save yourself the Hipster tears and the typing time!
NOW MY REVIEW!
I agree with people when they say Kylo was a little bit of a baby, and there is no way Rey should have defeated him like that! In saying that, everything is set up for a reason, I feel he will go through a heavy change now he's not idled between the light and dark! Which I love, they didn't cope out, Kylo killed his dad, and didn't even hesitate. Other note was too many jokes, but, I didn't hate it, they where relevant and made me laugh.
Han and Chewie, where awesome, Harrison Ford, is a legend and he owned that role, I would be lying if I didn't see his death coming, the second he stood on that walk way, I could feel it but it was a classy exit.
Rey, LOVE HER, she has a lot of depth and I felt myself warming to her almost immediately. When she was standing there holding that saber to Luke, the hair on my arms where vertical.
Finn, I don't know, at some points I really enjoyed him and at other times I was fighting to like him, but his chemistry with Rey is probably what kept me on side!
Poe, I love Poe, I would say he was my favorite character, at times he over acted a little, but that's alright kind of made me like him more, just that badass rebel pilot, was just cool!
I love the feel of this new trilogy, it's very homely, reminds me of when I saw ANH, the mystery and the excitement of new lore!
I probably give the movie a solid 8.9//10 . . 10//10 rated because I think it deserves it again these horribly unfair reviews.
BRING ON EP 8 BABY!!!!!!
Entourage (2015)
Yes, Yes, Perfect, for only the true fans.
So, I have been an Entourage fan since the first episode aired in 2004, and I loved the show, more than you could imagine hands down one of my favorite shows. So when I heard a movie was coming out I was slightly scared, TV movies have an amazing ability to ruin it for the show, but this is not the case, from beginning to end it's a treasure trove of references to the show and the character continuation is perfect to say the least. I really don't see how they could have added anymore to this, I would really love to see a second movie! If you didn't watch the show or didn't like the show I wouldn't even bother you want get it and you want like it. I have heard a few people say is objectify women, but they clearly haven't watch the TV show, it's Sex and the City for lads. . . . So they nailed it. Well done boys. 10/10. #AriGold4President.
