Ulidavaru Kandanthe (2014)
Simply Mindblowing!!!
This movie just sets the bar for the rest to come. Looking at the trailer I was looking forward to a good movie but this turned out to be a masterpiece. Honestly, you have to be familiar with movies like Pulp Fiction, Inception, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream etc to show liking towards it, as this is not a typical Indian Cinema. Anyway, if you thought 'LUCIA' was cool, Just wait till you watch this!!.
Anyway, coming back to the movie. The story is plain and simple, it revolves around the death of a character and a reporter investigating it, writing down the perspectives of the others involved in the incident. What takes the cake though, is the direction, screenplay, acting and the background score. Simply Flawless!! Didn't expect that sort of direction from a debutant director.Simply amazing!!!. The film is divided into 6 chapters, each from a different point of view, revolving around the same time frame. The movie adds its own style and at the same time preserving the authenticity of the native regions. In ending is left to your interpretation.

Hyped and D(h)oomed!!...
Over the recent years western cinema has started to influence and find a lot of audience all over the world. We People in India too have been exposed to a lot of Big Budget Hollywood movies over the years. This trend has somehow trickled down to Bollywood Movies as well. Before you read through this, I want you to know I enjoy a movie regardless of the language as long as there is substance in the movie. Coming back to topic,.. What our Bollywood crew have learnt from their Hollywood counterparts is that "Budget" is the only thing that is needed to make movies like Hollywood. None of these people have paid any attention to Plot or any sort of sensible direction. The movie started of decently by giving an insight into the past of the antagonist ( or Protagonist?!!) Sahir(Aamir Khan) and then the movie just slips away!!. Then you are made to watch some mind numbing Senseless Action Scenes, Which makes you wonder whether the Director ever went to school or not, let alone some common sense!!. The intro of the Cop Duo, Jai Dixit (Jr Bachan) and Ali ( Uday Chopra) which takes place in India is just idiotic. Katrina Kaif's and Uday's character is just pointless . They just hang around in the movie for no reason. She just prances around in sports bras and leather stockings and Some more skimpy clothes( This is possibly the latest trend of depicting women in India I believe). There are a lot of other idiosyncrasies in the first half of the movie, which I don't want to nitpick individually. The second half somehow was a little OK though, goes into explaining something about Plot( I guess I have to call it that!!). Again, you have to go through some idiotic bike chasing and some more stunts which makes you wonder whether it is a spoof movie or not. All in all if you think this movie will be close enough to the Hollywood movies that you have seen so far, then you will be disappointed. Perhaps the movie would have been better, if it had a good director and I hope in the future they start respecting quality scripts. This is my honest opinion,I can't speak for many. I'm Sorry if have angered anybody.
