Terrible
19 May 2024
Imagine a car crash of Murder She Wrote and The DaVinci Code, and we get to watch the fiery wreck burn for an hour.

I don't know what the writers were thinking. Or if they were thinking.

Plot elements are taken from a dozen better stories and shuffled around until they don't even make sense by accident.

Excruciatingly slow, taking itself way to seriously and just not fun.

At times I felt like I was watching a Scooby Do parody written by someone who had read the blurb of a Dan Brown novel.

It also doesn't help that most of the supporting cast can't act above the level of a high school play.

Even in this mess of an episode, Jeff Goldblum is a delight to watch.

Inhuman and ludicrous
27 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The cavalier and callous way the scientists talk about killing a sentient and unique being (resurrected Kim) is just unbelievable. This not just stretches credibility but makes everyone but Henry monstrously unlikable.

The resurrected Kim storyline was ridiculous as it was but the complete lack of even a sliver of humanity make this a terribly written episode.

The secondary plot about the on-land drownings is scientifically equally ludicrous but at least the drama is sound.

And to be clear: the science is almost always wacky and plane wrong in Eureka. But as long as the characters act in a believable way it's entertaining.

This episode fails across the board.
