A Town Called Malice (2023)
Don't get me wrong. This isn't good, BUT it's quite enjoyable
Don't get me wrong, this show is not a BAFTA award winner. It's actually quite bad, but and it's a huge BUT, it's really enjoyable. The music, the terrible story & the acting are all part of its charm.
It's taken everything from terrible 80s shows, awful action films, thrown in a great soundtrack, neon lights and a comical story then stuck them all in a blender, and out comes this mess of an enjoyable show.
I found myself, zoning out and just going with it. Personally I think we have got so wrapped up in pioneering shows, that's sometimes a soap operaesque show, which is just entertaining is ok to admit to enjoying.
This isn't 10/10 or portraying reality. It's just something to zone out to after a stressful day.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Mmmm.
Dear Jeff Bezos,
Between playing with your rocket and buying other businesses. Please never sign the cheque to renew this show. No matter how much money you have, it can't ever save this tripe.
Thanks
James.
White Lines (2020)
Mmmmm. Still don't know
One of my all time hatred in shows is when they state the film in a location and they don't.
Yes Zoe is in Ibiza, walking through the Dalt Villa but to state this was filmed in Ibiza, aggrevates me like something chronic, from someone who knows the island inside and out, from working and living there. I can tell you know this wasn't filmed "on location" that Menorca or Majorca. Scenary on Ibiza is much more pretty, coast line more angular and white.
The story is strange, the accents are rubbish. These Mancunians acting like they own the place with zero respect isn't that San Antonio anyway?
Still think this was a poor attempt at what could have been a really good, interwined story but like usual they went far to pretentious in the story.
6 Underground (2019)
What the hell happened??
When your watching a film and you start having an real-life issue. Firstly. You really struggle to see what's happening in their rate Transformers 2 film, secondly how cheap is Ryan Reynolds? Thirdly where do the holes in bagels go? The bagel I was eating had more delusion, majesticness and story about the absence of its core to this awful action packed mess. Honestly it's that poor. I would rather watch all 200 seasons of The Kardashian than ever see this again.
The Kominsky Method (2018)
Violence, sex & filth
The title states the 3 issues that all TV seems to through into every single boxset. All I can say is for once intelligent writing with decency is thrown into the equation. Yes there's some talk of sex with some explitives but these are seniors at the latter end of the life exploring age. Its really is hilarious but also nice.
Nice being a non descriptive word but it all I can muster up to describe this brilliantly created series. Michael Douglas & Alan Arkin are superb. I bloody loved it. Superb.
