Concise & Powerful Look into UNDERSTANDING Mental Illness
This documentary interviews recovered patients and graduates in psychiatry and modern medicine in relation to mental illness.
The film describes the history of treatment (or lack thereof) in medicinal treatment of the mentally ill. Then the film asserts that the brain and body's functionality is closely correlated with the nutritional content consumed by people. It is also explained that psychiatry is heavily biased by the pharmaceutical industry and the film attempts to contrast this view with the idea that mental illnesses are often treatable with nutrition and full understanding of the illness rather than treated with prescriptions and or held in an institution for the remainder of one's living years.
It's very concise and informational. The interviewed approach these problems with a reasonable and 'human' approach, without fanaticism about any sort of "miracle cure".
I highly recommend this for anyone interested or studying in Psychology, nutrition, and or psychiatry.
