Leading up to be a great show
29 March 2024
This is truly leading up to be a great show.

The acting is superb, the set designs incredible and with the score and filming in world class - this is a show to watch.

It may not fit all viewers, but if you're interested in history, period costumes, and like quirky thrillers, this is for you. It's dark but a bit cheerful at the same time, which makes the darker parts seem even darker.

Also, one cannot avoid seeing some parallels to more recent history - not in the same way, of course, but food for thought nonetheless.

It is a truly interesting and thrilling show that draws you in from the very beginning of the first episode.

Amazing series
27 February 2024
Everything is just spot on with this series!

I get that Americans aren't used to reading subtitles, but come on. So what if the series is mostly in Japanese? It's about an English man stuck in Japan in the 17th century. Why wouldn't it be in Japanese?

The acting, staging, camera shots, editing, direction - everything is 10 out of 10.

I rarely give a 10 after just two episodes, but this is an amazing series. I rarely give anything a ten. This is probably one of the best series I've seen the last ten years.

Mark my words - this'll get an Emmy for sure! If you haven't watched it, be sure to do. It's exciting, full of history and just a gem to watch.

Strangest show I've seen in years
2 January 2024
This is probably the strangest, weirdest show I've seen in years.

The actors are great, the direction is great, and the editing is great! The story however, is all over the place, and so random that I'm baffled. I'm left wondering if there even was a script at all. Was it all improvisation by the actors?

And it's definitely not a comedy. But what is it? It's not funny, so not a comedy. It's creepy at times, but not scary, so not a horror. It's exiting at short amounts of time, but not thrilling, so not a thriller. What genre is this show??

There are so many things happening, and so many characters. Yet, after the last episode, you sit back and think - what the h*** did I just watch? Who was that girl, why did the villagers do as they did, what happened to that guy, and who was really that child? Too many unanswered questions.

I'm giving it three stars for the acting, editing, and direction. The story completely through me off.

My Norwegian Holiday (2023 TV Movie)

Horrible cringe movie
21 December 2023
This is probably the most cringe Christmas film, I've ever seen. The acting is subpar, as one might expect from a Hallmark movie - however it's worse than what you might expect.

One would expect that a movie called, "My Norwegian Holiday" would have Norwegians in it but alas. The main character is from The Netherlands and speaks in a thick Dutch accent. When the actors speak "Norwegian", it's total gibberish - not even close to actual Norwegian words. The whole movie is filmed in Ireland - except for the short exterior scenes in Bergen, Norway.

This might end up as a cult classic, solely on the basis that it's such a poor film.
