Keep Breathing (2022)
Survival on a physical and emotional note
The reason why a lot of people didn't like this series is because they thought it would be a show about a woman surviving in the wilderness. That's it. But the real survival is the one she struggles with inside, and every event that happens in the wilderness plays a part in her letting go and getting through her trauma from childhood to adulthood. There are a lot of flash backs. But it's vital to why she keeps waking up each day and pushes through to keep alive.
First it's about being tough.
Then it's about finally freeing yourself of the pain you hang on to.
And also: The videography and scenery are beautiful. The music on point. It was a gorgeous show that deserves more than the low reviews. Don't be afraid to watch it- you might cry like I did at the end.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
7.5 for how the action scene at the end got me
So I'm someone who doesn't typically go for military type movies- and the original top gun was a film I slept through when I was a kid. I definitely had prepared myself to fall asleep again through this sequel, and I should note that I also lost a bet over what movie we would watch to my boyfriend, so overall I was not happy about seeing this movie (cue laugh track).
Then it starts. And I was like huh, okay there's something here. Then the training parts came and I go- huh, okay there's some comedy and some thrill- not bad. Then there was a good chunk of boring (sorry I just had a hard time paying attention), and the romance scenes were not as romantic as I would have liked (the bf didn't complain).
Then it happened.
The action everyone was waiting for.
The chase, the thrill, and the drama!
And I was completely engrossed.
The last 30 minutes of the movie had me glued to my seat, chewing my nails, and holding my breath.
So overall, not a bad bet to loose, and I left the movie theater telling myself to go see other films I wouldn't otherwise see. 7.5 stars.
Station Eleven (2021)
Thought provoking and wonderfully gut wrenching
This show impressed me. I felt so much throughout the series- horror with the sickness (felt close to home what with Covid going on), the sadness at leaving behind people you love and watching other die, and the happiness with new beginnings. I absolutely love the character growth- and I loved when everything started to fall into place at the end.
Encanto (2021)
Enchanting and Emotional
This movie made me cry! All the outsiders that feel as though they were overlooked, overworked, and not as special witching their own family can relate when they watch this movie. It was so so so good. Tells a story about a girl who's greatest gift doesn't have anything to do with a superpower or something like it. In fact, she doesn't have one at all. I loved the colors, songs, and family orientated story line. You'd think that what with the theme that the movie could compare to other Disney movies, but not this one. It outshines the rest.
Sweet Tooth (2021)
Beautiful show!
I went into this thinking that the plot was iffy and that I would find it comical and not very well made.
WRONG.
This series captivated me within minutes. The videography and music is breathtaking. The acting is so good. And the plot is really well done.
I have started the show and finished it in one day.
The Rain (2018)
Beautiful and interesting
I absolutely loved this show. The character growth was amazing, and the ending was not what I expected. I thought that the story line was well written, and the ending didn't leave me wanting more. It was perfect.
Save Yourselves! (2020)
A fun sci fi-romcom movie
I absolutely loved this movie! Su and Jack in the forest running away from poufies... And hopefully on further adventures (end of movie). I wanted more!!! The relationship between the 2 characters was soooo relatable and cute! The plot was different and kept me glued.
Permanent (2017)
Honestly one of the sweetest movies I've seen this year
I dont know why this movie is rated so low. I really and truly loved this film. It has comedy...drama...cute kids...funny parents....and bad hair! I loved the part where Lydia recites her poem. It made me cry! So much goodness. I have it saved so I can re watch with family and friends.
Living with Yourself (2019)
Pretty funny twist
I honestly love the idea of there being 2 of me. I always wanted a twin, and this show makes the idea even more desirable. It is funny, and the plot kept me watching with my eyes glued! I loved the ending....I mean, it is thought provoking! It had to end that way! And it was even more hilarious the way the plot twisted at the end. Loved this show!
Daybreak (2019)
Such a good show!
Seriously, I enjoyed binge watching the whole season, and I really hope they keep making more of them!
Public Schooled (2017)
Childhood memories for a good laugh
First thing, there are several types of homeschooled people, and yes.... People like Liam exist which is why this movie was hilarious for me to watch. I was homeschooled for a little bit of time, and let me telllll youuuu! The awkwardness of overprotective mothers is totally real and creepy! Come on, prom with mom? Yes ssss. Anyways, for those who know people who were homeschooled and fit the description of those in the movie...and or was homeschooled and are normal, You'll understand. :)
BlacKkKlansman (2018)
Please consider watching!
I'm sitting in the movie theater, in the dark, while the ending credits play. There are people walking out and I can hear some talk about the movie, while others shuffle out... Their feet making more noise than their breathing. One person says that this movie was some stupid s***t, and I caught myself checking to see what they looked like, and about slapped myself for even going there.
Blackkklansman. Please consider watching it.
It's not just a funny movie. It is a challenge on moral, with an unspeakable meaning.
