Death Row (2006)
Death Row (Haunted Prison)
Well, I personally have been a fan of the movie for quite some time now. I see a lot of negativity towards this film, it's just a tad bit depressing but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I first saw Death Row on Sci-Fi(SyFy)a few years ago, On the guide it was listed as ''HAUNTED PRISON'' (Therefor making it extremely hard to find to purchase on DVD because the DVD title is ''DEATH ROW'', haha.) Surely enough, I came to my senses and looked the film up on here(IMDb) and ordered it right away.
In a nutshell, Death Row (AKA Haunted Prison) is about two groups of people, one group just robbed a bank but came to the prison due to things not going as planned, so they went to hide out. While the second group was only trying to get some film on the prison for the documentary about the place they are filming. Both soon see that there is a lot wrong with the place... The rest is for you to see.
The movie ,in my opinion, was a very solid horror film ( especially for a STARZ production for Sci-Fi.) Jake Busey did a really good job with his roll, he made the whole movie and set the tone of the film. All of the other actors and actresses weren't really special to the film, but I give them all credit for making the film believable and working in 2 actual abandoned prisons for most of the film. One of the prisons had no electricity, so i could imagine the difficulties with that.
The gore in the film is actually pretty good and hard to believe it turned out so well with the budget that it was made with. I must say, when Anibal gets chopped up in the license plate machine, the effex and camera angles are very impressive. The scene where John chops off his legs in the gas chamber was pretty intense too. The scene where Ron gets pushed through the fence was definitely an idea I've never seen that before in a movie, I liked it. The make-up effex are over the top. Favorably, with the nun that can be seen several times throughout the movie.
Overall, I love this movie and i would recommend it to anyone who likes horror. It's very good to watch this movie with friends, especially with some drinks or pop-corn. Just have a good time and i hope you enjoy the movie as much as I do.
Magma Head (2003)
Very Funny
I ended up finding this movie on Worm Miller's You Tube page and on the extra of "Hey.. Stop Stabbing Me!"(another great film) and i ended up watching the commentary as well, which is always fun, either way, i watched it, laughed at everything. It was pretty much a small scale of what every director goes through(minus the killing of all of the cast). The humor was very funny and memorable. I think that Patrick Casey is Hilarious as an actor. The only thing that got me in this one is his beard haha, pretty different on him. But this is a very excellent movie and i recommend this movie to anyone who feels like watching a movie that they want to laugh at and lose knowledge at the same time!
Fright Night (2011)
Fright Night 3D! Wow, Im impressed
OK, so I just got back from seeing this at the show, and I can Honestly say that this is equally as good as the original. The acting is top notch, the efx were pretty neat, I likes how at the end they had Amy look the same as her "vamp look" the same as in the original(the big goofy smile with the sharp teeth).
The appearance of Chris Surrandon(the original Jerry) was awesome, i was kind of sad that he got killed, but still.
One person I want to give tremendous amounts of credit to is Collin Farrel(Jerry). He adapted the part so well, he was just one badass dude, he didn't try to play a nice guy or anything, he just went straight for the neck. And he had a neat and cool look to him.
All in all, excellent movie, I recommend this movie to anybody.
Hey, Stop Stabbing Me! (2003)
Great!
This movie is AMAZING, to say the least. I love Worm Miller and Patrick Casey's work, I started out by Dorm Daze, Dorm Daze 2, and TRANSYLMANIA. Transylmania being my favorite. Eventually i wanted to know more work from them, so i looked up what they have done, and one of the titles i came up with was "Hey Stop Stabbing Me", so i clicked here and saw the cover and thought it was random, but funny, then i ended up getting the movie off of Amazon after reading the good reviews for this movie, I started watching this with an open mind, and i ended up laughing at everything that happened on here. It is really funny, especially for a 500 dollar budget. The humor in it was just very clever and funny, this movie is really great and i recommend this movie to anyone!
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Very good
Well, Starting out, I have played and beat: The Mummy(PS), and The Mummy Returns(PS2), and I noticed that both games never had the voices of the movies. So I bought this game, thinking the same thing, but it turns out that they are actually the voices of Brendan Fraiser(Rick) and Luke Ford(Alex). I found that out by reading the booklet before playing it, I was already surprised. But, I did indeed enjoy the first two games. So, I popped this one in the PS2, and it took me a couple of days, but I beet it and I must say that this is my favorite game of The Mummy series! The story line fits beautifully, and of course a few extra levels, but still, the story kept in line the whole time. The graphics I were impressed by, They were very good especially for a PS2 game.
Durring game play, You start out as the "All grown up" Alex O'Connel, in the tomb(just like in the movie's setting) and you battle off some bad guys( the usual bag) Its cool how the game alters between Rick and Alex, but I think we can all agree that Rick is the one we want to play as.
Tis game does have those points where you feel like you can never get it right, and you feel like you will never pass the level, but I noticed that every time you retry a section, you get better at it, so just keep trying.
All in all, excellent game, I recommend it to anyone who wants to play a top of the line movie/action/adventure game!!! Have fun!!
Transylmania (2009)
Is Indeed Funny
OK, I loved this movie, no question about it. I don't understand why there is so much hate comments on it. The jokes and humor in the movie were very clever and very well done. You gotta love Worm Miller's work, its hilarious especially on:"Hey... Stop Stabbing Me!" "Dorm Daze" Dorm Daze 2" etc... Also, Patrick Casey is really funny! His whole attitude and character is just funny, even though he didn't have the biggest part in the movie. It was hilarious how He mistakes guys for women.
With the movie, the settings were actually very descent. the background had a fair share of detail. The actors/acting are pretty good as well. Once again, the comedy/humor, very funny. especially the scene where Rusty(Oren Skoog) was all excited about finally getting a chance to bang his (hot) online girlfriend, Draguta(Irena Hoffman). Then it turns out that she has that growth on her back and just completely kills it for him. Really good lesson in that scene, "send a full body photo always"!
Just don't be so hard on this movie, especially on a film like this, we all know this wasn't made to be a big movie with Oscar performance qualities in it. Don't be so hard on it. It was actually a VERY funny film. It is personally one of my favorites in my collection. so I recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a really good movie and have some funny, smart, stupid, and fun laughs with some friends!
Stan Helsing (2009)
I honestly laughed!
Well, after reading all of these reviews that said this movie sucked and what not, i figured that I'll still give it a shot. I didn't expect all that much out of such a lowly rated film. But, honestly it was not all that bad! I thought the humor in there was pretty funny. At some parts I was kind of like "WTF?" but still they made me laugh. It was funny how they always called him "Van Helsing" and he would say " why does everyone call me that!" . Pinhead with the dartboard head was pretty funny. And I liked how Michael Myerss' characters mask changed, the leatherface spoof was pretty comical with the leaf blower.etc...
Point being, this wasn't supposed to be a big award winning film, and I do believe that the makers of the film knew it as well. It's just supposed to be a fun movie that you watch with a bunch of friends and laugh at. Don't be so hard on it, if you really took the time and understood the humor and just sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed it, then it wouldn't be half as bad. :)
