WAAR- A Satisfying Cinematic Experience

Before i start,i want to clarify that I'm not a reviewer but merely a movie fanatic,so please excuse my poor language.

Watch this movie for Spectacular edge-of-the-seat Action Sequences,A Strong Plot,Some Top-Notch Acting and the Best Music Score ever in a Pakistani movie,It totally delivers what was promised in the trailer.For a Pakistani movie,this is extremely good and an Average Pakistani will surely enjoy it.Great job by the whole team,especially Mr.Bilal Lashari,you sir have proved that Pakistan can come out of watching dumb downed action movies.I'm looking forward to your next project.Extremely well job for someone so young and talented.It was worth the wait.

Detalied Review:

-Visually Spectacular,eye candy scenes,Top-Notch Action Sequences and Cinematography.The Action Sequences are gripping and on par with level of Hollywood movies,and the Screenplay is handled perfectly,except for a few scenes,the movie doesn't lag throughout it's length,which I think is the best trait of an action thriller.Extremely well job by the whole Editing team for bringing us this great cinematic experience.

-Direction is fresh and beautifully handled.Bilal Lashari delivered what he promised,and should be called a true perfectionist.His talent and enthusiasm reflects in each and every scene.The scene with the blend of Meesha and Shamoon's Waltz with Terrorist attack on police academy was an experiment done well.

-Plot wise,the movie is a bit biased against India,but that's pretty much the truth we face today,it's RAW vs PAK throughout the movie,a few plot holes here and there but it won't disappoint.It is very solid and true to a great extent,shows us the facts that caused our current scenario.Thumbs up to Mr.Hassan Rana,who did a fine job.What i loved about it was that it doesn't offend the intelligence of the viewer.The whole movie was handled perfectly except the ending,which i think was was poorly executed and hurried.The melodrama should have been avoided.That's the reason I rate it 8/10

-Acting wise,everyone did justice to their roles,particular mentions to Ayesha Khan and Hamza Abbasi for the brilliant chemistry,and Shaan was exceptional in his role of course,you give him a justified role,he can prove that he's so much more than an undead village superhero like his previous movies,with Khuda Ke Liye and Waar,he proves he is the best,and not in any way,less than any great actor you see in Bollywood or Hollywood.He is slowly evolving to perfection with each movie. thumbs up to Ali Azmat and Meesha Shafi who played their parts extremely well and made a great debut.Shamoon Abbasi fit perfectly in his role as a villain,he is evil and a perfect opposite match for Shaan.

-Character Roles were a bit poorly developed and should have been given more thought.Dialogues were perfect,enjoyable and a wave of clapping pursued whenever Shaan came on-screen with his witty remarks.The Decision to shoot 90% of this movie in English can be justified,majority can understand the movie but i saw a guy sitting there who was being translated each and every scene in Urdu by his friend so he can understand what's happening,although Urdu Subtitles were available.

-The Music Score of the movie is something worth particular mention,extremely great job by Amir Munawar and the whole team,the score is what that makes the scenes feel interesting and enthusiastic.The songs were emotional and energetic.

On the whole,it was an enjoyable experience and we are proud to see Pakistanis coming forward and making great cinema.Don't miss it! It's a MUST-WATCH!

Yet another time i'm forced to write a review for a movie because everyone else is making a bad name for it

This is a non-stop entertainment movie,if you're an action fan,this is a must-watch,i don't usually care it the storyline is cliché but this is way better than Die Hard 5

Story is same old same old,but entertaining

Pacing is fast,you won't feel bored for a second

Acting is top notch by all actors,especially i loved Gerard Butler of course

Action and CGI is well balanced and realistic

At the end,I say it's worth a watch,don't miss it,especially if you're an Action/Gerard Butler/ fan! Worth the 120 minutes

OMG: Oh My God! (2012)

Muslims should watch this

As a Muslim myself I was a bit skeptical to watch this movie,as I thought it would be all about Hindu Gods and stuff.But I read the reviews and the immense likes so I gave it a try and I wasn't disappointed.I always thought too that it's one GOD,of the same religions,this movie shows the truth how people are blindly worshiping idols and Hindu Saints are getting money out of all that. It's a hilarious flick which addresses the present problems,and I think everyone should watch this no matter what religion. Everyone gave brilliant performances and the movie doesn't lag at all.It's a mind opener for all. Bottomline:Watch it!

Mirza: The Untold Story (2012)

Mirza-A Rather Old Story

(I'm not a frequent reviewer so excuse my poor writing) Finally I saw the long awaited Punjabi Action Movie with a very catchy name Mirza-The Untold Story..from the title it seems like the film will have a really strong mystery/thriller script,no it isn't.

It is merely a Modern Day Depiction of the Mirza Sahiba Story!Nothing else!There are a lot of flaws in the movie,but I didn't expect much from a Punjabi Movie so it was rather OK.The Duration is too long,2:40 minutes is huge you start feeling bored,next the acting of the lead actor Gippy Grewal was more like a joke,it was pretty much OK but his role doesn't give a lot of emotions.The writers couldn't decide whether it's nonsense entertainment movie or a dark action thriller,and the result is mix.

Yo Yo Honey Singh did well with his character considering it was his first break as an actor,and his role is the only one that I loved,it was simply awesome

Most of the movie is ridiculous,but the action scenes are really awesome,and the cinematography was very well done which was a huge improvement,but character development and a stronger script was what this movie lacked.Also the extra long duration is really annoying.

Bottomline:If you're a Punjabi Movie fanatic or a huge Honey Singh fan,you might give it a try,otherwise don't waste a cinema ticket,buy a DVD instead

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012)

Ordinary Male Entertainment

This is a very ordinary movie and the filmmakers know it! The look and feel of the movie is just like Bollywood Movies of 2003- 2008..crappy camera angles..extra colorful sets and over the top comedy scenes,until now I thought that if a movie has suggestive references,it's a great comedy,this movie has proved that wrong..the addition of crude dialogues and double meaning language did not make it that much funny,I only laughed at a few scenes..the movie just drags on,some of the scenes are brilliant while some are just down right crap,every scene has crude dialogues and sexual references,and that's what makes it boring,Kya Super Kool Hai Hum had the ability to be an excellent entertainer but fails big time,and the worst part is the producers know it's an ordinary movie,it's said in the movie several times!Instead they could have tried and made it brilliant!

Bottom Line:If your'e a male,you'll enjoy it.Males enjoy almost any sexual dialogues and this movie delivers that a lot!Don't except a brilliant comedy though

What's with the hate??

I'm don't usually write reviews so excuse my poor description of movies,I'm just a movie fan who knows how to enjoy movies.I know the plot is inspired from Hollywood movies but give it a rest,I enjoyed this movie,It has some awesome breathtaking action sequences and nice shots,it isn't that bad..The Cinematography was awesome,the location was nice,At some points you will feel like its a Hollywood movie.It has it's shortcomings,but I think it is definitely not worth the hate... Its an Adrenaline pumped action movie with believable acting from all actors,it may not be fast paced but interesting enough to watch

Bottom line:Maybe this movie isn't worth a cinema ticket,but its definitely worth a watch on DVD

Goon (2011)

Really loved the movie..just pure entertainment Seam William Scott is awesome with his role of an idiot who can't do a thing with his life,but deep down is really simple and nice.The action is marvelous what guys'l appreciate,if you want pure entertainment mindless action this is the movie for you.Acting is superb.Comedy was nice at times but it isn't a laugh out loud there's some jokes where you can make that crackle the movie is all about the idiot guy making into the team with just his big fist putting it in everyone's mouth.Liev Schreiber did justice with his role of a veteran goon from whom everybody is afraid.Sean's role is quite inspirational .If you are a guy you'll probably love it.Not really a woman movie.I loved it! 7 out 0f 10!

Just Go For it! It's a nice one

This is my first review,I'm writing because this movie is really underrated.It is a nice movie the acting of Rajeev and Soha is really great and they live upto their expectations.The movie has some flaws but overall it's an entertainer with a deep message.It's a really good movie for a debuting Director.The Cinematography was excellently done.The music is great too.This is a fresh movie with fresh dialogues and story this is what Bollywood Cinema needs not some nonsense Action movie in which hero is superhero.Soha Ali Khan's role is exceptional and for the first time I have to admit it,she did good acting.I don't see any reason why this movie performed poorly on box office.Go ahead watch it!
