School of the Damned (2019)
Didn't expect this...
Odd choice of title- it doesn't have anything to do with Village of the Damned. But suspect this has more to do with low budget distribution than it does the film makers.
This film is a lot of fun! Solid opening, great score and an assembly scene jam-packed with extras- I was surprised!
As the situation develops we see some great characters emerge. Particularly the two lead actors and the teacher of the creepy children.
Kamikaze (2016)
An action gem!
You can clearly see the effort put into the choreography, the humour and grass roots approach to film making.
This groups of mates got off their arses and made a movie! I wondered how these guys grew and developed so looked them up.
One is now a top level choreographer and has won a Taurus Award! Others are stunts on some massive films.
IMDb is an unfortunate congregation for "have-a-go" film critics who have little comprehension of what makes a great film. So this film is getting a tough time. But if you can look at what these guys have created, there is more story, depth and motivation in these action scenes than the majority of modern action movies.
On that basis alone, it's worth watching.
C'era una volta il West (1968)
Perfection!
Perfect opening... Perfect direction... This is Sergio Leone's masterpiece.
The characters are pitched so perfectly. All of them flawed and fascinating. The shootouts are explosive and glorious!
A Fistful of Lead (2018)
Whoa!!!
I love me a low budget western but this was a surprise in the best way!
Fun characters and a great situation for them to thrive! The shootouts definitely play in a variety of ways. There is one section that's a little like John Wick bit with a six-shooter. Another is fast paced and explosive.
I had a blast watching this and didn't expect to highly recommend and hope this team make another western.
Nightshooters (2018)
This film is WICKED!!
Caught this at Raindance and went to see it again the very next day. So glad I got to see it.
Great script! Fantastic characters! I especially loved the actor playing the director and your man from Shameless as the sound Guy was incredible. The action was way above what you normally see!
Hallows Eve (2016)
Fantastic film making!
Genuinely loved this... Solid premise and a fine movie that left me chilled. Fantastic closing shot!
