Laugh and Tears of Singapore Family
12 September 2006
I go to watch this movie with expectation to see how is the live of Singapore family. I am not a Singaporean, but already stay in Singapore for certain time, I enjoy living in this country. I haven't watched too many Singapore Movies before, but I like some local Singapore movies, like I Not Stupid, it can really portray what is Singaporean all about at a certain level. Well, Singapore Dreaming, bring another picture of real life in Singapore at some level higher. The plot is arranged nicely and realistic to explore social problem and 5C-dreams of mid-life crisis man with his family, with humor here and there. (5C = Cash, Credit Card, Car, Condo and Country Club). Every actor and actress plays their part very well, especially Richard Low as another role as a sharp-tongue hokkien. Along the movie, you will laugh at some common Singlish and Hokkien dialogs, but at the same time, you will see strong and touching message about life and hope. I cannot say this is the best Singapore movie since I have just watched several of them, but it will be one of my favorite movie. Very Recommended.

Mortalized Superman
27 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I was lucky to get early preview of Superman Return. And I put high expectation on this one compare to other movies at this summer. But after watching it, I just feel weird how Superman is tried to be treated like human. It seems that Bryan Singer try to bring the same recipe as previous Superhero movies, like Spiderman, X-Men, Hulk, etc. But for Superman case, it become not so relevant because Superman is not human at all. *Spoiler* Most people at cinema smiled or even laughed, when Superman was bullied and sent to Emergency Room. Other thing is too much romance on this sequel than action. There is no proper ending about relationship between Superman and Lois.

Special effect, acting, picture, etc are very well done. Kevin Spacey show his performance again as one of the best villain on big screen. I like Brandon Routh as new Superman as well.

Very Truly Underrated for Drama, maybe Overrated for Horror Movie
8 January 2005
If you expect this movie will get you horrified or maybe show you some brutal monsters and scenes, then put this movie away. It won't do any good for you. Many movies have been there for you, like Alien Vs Predator, Fredy Vs Jason, Texas Chainsaw. But if you want to see a good, clever and well-crafted drama (maybe with some horror part, but don't get it as the main part), then give this movie a try. Many reviews had been given for this movie, and most of them gave low rating. Maybe this rating is given based on expectation this movie will be the same as previous M Night's one 'The Sixth Sense'. Watch this film with no expectation as the next 'Sixth Sense', you will find this film is a great drama film. Also great Music, Cast and Cinematography.

Not As Good as the original
16 November 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I have just watched The "hollywood" Ring, i had watched the original about 2 years ago. I found that The Original Ring is more scary than the remake one. The atmosphere of the original is more well preserved.

(SPOILER possible) The most scary part (according to my opinion), is the last part that Sadako came out from Television. It can really make bad dream. But in the remake one, that part isn't scary at all. It rather seem silly. Samara doesn't seem so scary.

But The Ring has better plot and the character is more developed. I like Rachel Keller and her child character. 7 of 10

Amazing Animation Movie
14 November 2003
What a good animation movie that Pixar and Disney has made. I have attracted since the first scene until the last credit (the credit itself is still attractive). I saw this movie in theater on my city late, and i think it wouldn't be crowded, but it still. This animation would be loved from all ages.
